I don't like anime. They are more like commercial products. The Japanese true are lies mostly in the comics. Those on the TV are lame.
It is not a wise thing to compare the two. Immature motherfuckers like to argue and say the other is best. What is the point??? also, as I've mentioned before, anime tends to explore a territory that no cartoons ever explore: serious, linear plots. cartoons focus on situational comedy while anime has deeper stories.

Akira, Cowboy Bebop, or any Miyazaki film, you are pretty much gauranteed a good anime.

And about the big-eyes argument, that mostly applies to shitty anime's based on dating-sim games that are sold retail.

Big eyes? Those don't look very big to me, the only character with big eyes in the whole anime series is Ed, but it just fits Ed.

And yes, anime can have incredibly shitty plots, storylines, and characters. For some reason people watch and buy this shit.

Even then, you can have a big eyed-mildly child happy anime. And still have it be pretty god damn serious. Take Naruto for example, it starts off kinda kiddish, lots of that Chibi shit (big eyes, heads as big as bodies to employ some kiddy humor), the eyes are big at times too. Then later on it gets pretty damn serious, and the plot is fucking awesome.

I watch enough anime and Western cartoons to know what's good. And American cartoons have a hard time being serious about things, it always comes off as humor one way or another. Not to mention you will rarely find American romance animations. All the good shit that gets on theatres here was either made in Japan or Canada...

There is a world of anime out there. Anime like Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, Dragonball Z, and Inuyasha are just idiotic. The true anime titles are as follows: Ghost in the Shell (Inspired the movie Matrix, and it will make you think!), Akira (Best animation), Robotech/Macross, and Neon Genesis Evangelion (Deeply religious).

Western cartoons have gone downhill because the quality of the animation and the quality of the storylines are terrible.

I'm still trying to figure out what this says in english. As a preliminary response, I'll just say that bias is contrary to education. An educated individual would take the time to examine both sides, understand the rationale behind the inherent differences and understand that each is valid in it's own way. Bias and preference are different things.

I like both, but FG is way better than any other american cartoon.

and yes, BLUEleaf is right. There is a difference between good, serious anime (Spirited Away, for example. It won an academy award! Take that anime=sukk people!) and crappy, bad voice-acted, "americanized", kiddy anime.

stick with anime they show on Adult Swim, especially Cowboy Bebop or FLCL.

Dragonball Z, Pokemon, and Yu-gi-oh are the worst examples of anime EVER!! You = Fail.

Here's a list of the current best, worst, more popular, overrated, underrated, and contreversially rated anime shows. You'll notice pokemon is on the worst rated list and yu-gi-oh and dragonball z are in the most overrated list.

Almost everything anime is better.Have you ever seen the anime episode of Billy & mandy.That was the best episode of that stupid show.And when Timmy (fairly odd parents) had the anime part of that movie that was cool too

I think we can all agree that cartoons are funnier and anime is more action-packed.

If you want comedy, watch cartoons.
If you want drama, watch anime.

I like some anime like Ninja Scroll, Birdy the Mighty, La blue girl (though thats more like hentai) and a bunch more. I also like show like space ghost, the Brak show, simpsons and many others.

So I guess you could say I like then the same... some cartoon shows suck and some anime sucks.

Yeah, if you watch an anime show, duh. But if you watch something like Family Guy or Rocko's Modern Life chances are you aren't gonna see alot of Japanese names.

Rocko's Modern Life was made by Clasky-Csupo, the same produciton house that makes Simpsons. All their work is done in Korea. A quick run the FG credits will no doubt show a similar result. Congrats on proving my point though.
