You'll need to use some sort of "Noise Removal Filter", which is a handy option featured on audio editting programs such as Audacity, Cool Edit Pro, Goldwave, etc. This "Noise Removal Filter" can help remove background noise, static, etc. from voice recordings, if you use it right.

What program do you use to record? I used to have that problem, too, but I figured out how to fix it. Make sure your recording format is set to 44.100 kHz, 16 bit stereo. If you use the regular Windows sound recorder to record your voice, you can change this formatting by going to File->Properties

Errrrrr... No. Seriously, no. That helps a bit, but it doesn't eliminate the noise completely, nor does it allow you to save in a format that's less huge than wav. Listen to Elliair and grab yourself a proper recording proggie. It'll help a lot. Seriously.

Like what type of program???
I listed three types of Audio editting programs in my first response to you.
Sounds like a ground loop. You could try an isolating filter.

Oh sorry, i didnt see that post...thanks!
Also, try backing off from your monitor/PC/any other electrical or magnetic object when you're recording. My monitor causes fairly severe buzzing, and I generally also use DX Noise Reduction in Sound Forge (best wav editing prog IMO) whenever I finish recording a file, to get rid of mic hiss/PC fan noise/other background shite. Usually the best way to apply noise reduction is to capture a noiseprint on a section of the waveform where it's JUST background noise, and then use the plugin to remove that noiseprint from the rest of the data.
Try not to be too severe when removing noise, though, it can do weird things to your music.
are you talking about the metronome
Thanks Denvish, very helpful!
LegendaryPancake, no i am not!
