but i want free apps and touch screen >:C
The apps are pretty cool, but you have to search out the ones that are free, and most of the better ones you have to pay for. They aren't really expensive for the most part though; usually it ranges from about £0.50-£5.00 for some pretty cool ones (I think I saw The Sims 3 for around a fiver).
But... that being said, if you're ONLY getting it for the apps, I can tell you now that the novelty will most definitely wear off. I was excited about upgrading my iPod Touch software (which cost around £5 in the first place) and getting me some hella-cool apps, but TBH my excitement was short lived on that front.
Basically, it's down to you. The iTouch is a great little gadget, but you have to ask yourself if you're gonna like it enough to justify paying that price tag.

Plus touch screens, bleh. Can't use them easily.
The fingers you have used to dial are too fat. To order a special dialing wand, please mash the keypad with your palm now.
I was thinking of that Simpsons quote when reading the first line of your post... but lo and behold, you beat me to it in the next line.
A curse upon your muffiny quick-wittedness.

Im not a fan of touch screen myself. They tend to stick to my fingers.
...lol? Do you have sticky fingers or something...? ;P
Also everyone I know has a cracked/broken screen on their I-Phones/Touches cause it only takes one drop to fuck em up from what ive seen. poor little things are sjut to fragile for soemone like me who like to play catch with my phone or practice Hacky Sack Stalls when im bored.
I don't think I've dropped anything hazardous directly onto the screen, or vice versa, but I've dropped my iTouch 2 or 3 times and it's been OK. The most recent drop was actually pretty bad -- the damn thing fell out of my pocket when I was out for a run. Still seemed to hold up nicely after that though; hasn't given me any trouble since.

Nice to have you back NEVR. Happy you had a good time.
Thankee
Also, everyone else is on the subject of cell phones, but I don't own a cell phone, never have owned a cell phone, and probably won't ever own a cell phone. I personally just don't have a need for one, but I could see where people do. Saves money too. :P
I went about a month without a phone towards the end of uni, and I hated every second of it. It's so much easier for me to have a phone in the lifestyle that I lead, and having to resort to shouting out of windows or spontaneously showing up on someone's doorstep without knowing if they're actually in or not starts to grate after a while.
To each his own though.
