LOL. You should see me when I get into arguments / fights. I can do a decent job of sorting out other people's altercations, but when I get into one myself I'm pretty much hopeless. I'm pretty quick to anger sometimes, but not usually on teh internets. Teh internets is for fun (AND SERIOUS BUSINESS, OBV)

Hey guys, I apologize if I make myself out to be an idiot here, but since this is the C&C Regulars Lounge I figure you know more about this forum than I do.

I was considering setting up a club called "The NG Philosophers" for the intellectual discussion of all forms of philosophy, as well as the teaching of several famous ones such as Aristotle and Socrates. Now I did a search, and to my dismay found that there already is a similar thread, the "Philosophy Crew".

However, the club seemed to lack structure; it all seemed to be a bit haywire. What's more, the club only has 2 pages, hasn't been posted in for 2 years, and its founder hasn't posted in the forums since 06.

I reckon I could create one with better rules and a more definite direction, and I'm sure there would be plenty of intelligent fellows such as yourselves who'd consider joining.

Should I bother, or will it wind up getting locked? Thanks, and sorry if I'm being a bit of a nuisance.

I want to, but the test for motorcycles is getting more difficult in the UK, and more expensive, so it'll have to be something I do when I have a lot of free time and money.

I always asked Bluehippo before I made a club or shared my ideas about a club with him before I posted one. There's nothing wrong with asking a mod first.

Hell we are the C&C regulars. I do think we should help people with club ideas since we're usuall the ones posting in Bad C&C threads telling them how the fucked up. Most of us belong to alot of C&C's so we have a pretty good idea of what kind of crews fail and which survive.

No, there's plenty of intelligent people on the BBS, in all the forums. Some forums there's simply a lot more crap in which prevents most people from seeing the more intelligent users (General, most prominently, though I still maintain there are some great people in those forums, despite what anybody says).

Also Jew, if you can't answer questions about what kinds of clubs are / aren't allowed in C&C, then you really ought to work on that. Most regulars have a knowledge of the BBS that's comparable to that of a mod -- the only difference is that mods can lock and delete threads etc. Just because they have 'executive powers', doesn't mean they're the ONLY people who can answer questions pertaining to the BBS.

Exactly, we hang around here a lot, most of us see new clubs being made each day (most of which get locked), and we've all read the rules, so there's absolutely no reason for any of us NOT to know this stuff.
