Describes me perfectly actually. I'm a big quitter! But the thing that did it for me was when I was going down the bunny hill, without knowing what the hell I was doing I might add since I decided to learn on my own, I fall down and this kid who had to be like 10 goes past me, looks back and yells "You suck" I wanted so bad to chase him but me being on a snowboard meant that it would be impossible XD

So after that I decided to go back to what I knew, because I had already been doing skiing for awhile and snowboarding was just supposed to be a fun deviation from the norm for me. I just didn't have the time and patience to learn the very basic of keeping balance on the board. But now that I'm a bit older I do want to at least be able to go back and ride down an easy route at least once, and seeing as my parents like to ski, I wouldn't be surprised if I got another chance next winter.

Well hey everybody! Yeah i just got around to getting on here after all the stuff i had to to yesterday and it kinda drained into today alittle. But im am finally done and i got me nothing but free time (unless something comes up again).

last weekend I had this kid who never snowboarded before and I don't think he really fell down much at all.

he skateboards a lot (actually, on a longboard w00t cool 10 year old) and had amazing balance. he totally skipped right on up to another level by the end of the lesson. He was only at it for 2 hours and was able to go up and down the chairlift perfectly fine.

usually what happens with students is they'll get uncomfortable with sliding, and get really out of their element. For some reason, they crouch down or lock up their knees if they are unbalanced, and that just throws them to the ground. so I spend a lot of a first lesson just working on getting them used to the sliding of the board and how it feels. Then I work on turns, until they get one down, then the other turn. From there I mix the turns up a bit and eventually I get them linking turns (all of this without the back foot in)

when they are linking turns together we strap the back foot in and start linking turns. my biggest pet peeve of students starts at this point. When they get scared or unbalanced, they immediately practically sit down on their back foot, totally screwing with any chance of gaining balance back. I can't stress enough to my students how important it is to keep their weight over their front foot. the front foot is the one that steers you and the one that actually gives you control, the back foot is just there for the ride,really. either way, they sit on their back foot and wonder why they aren't doing well.

Just come back from a gig, going out tonight and tomorrow, then going to another gig on sunday.

Yeah that would probably be me for a while on a snowboard but i have never tried it so i would not know. But it is definitely something i am going to try in the near future probably. But on a diffrent note i finally got to watch Metal Gear Awesome 2, That movie is hilarious and i had to watch it like 2 more times after i watched it the first time.

I used to skateboard when I first went snowboarding but it didnt really help. Apart from balance, its completely different, like using the front foot and leaning forward. At first it just feels unnatural.

I'm absolutely shocking when it comes to balancing on a board of any sort, I'm absolutely fine on skiis, but on snowboard, skateboard, even mountainboards to some extent I'm absolutely hideous at.

I'm fairly good at snowboarding and it was actually really hard ot learn. I learnt it before skiing because I needed to do it in a group because it was cheaper and the rest of them know how to ski. So I'm just gonna' pretedn I know how to ski and go on the slopes. It might work.

It's on a dry slope so it should be safe. but it's cold weather right now so I don't go on the slopes. I wish we had snow over here in Engerland.

Yeah it's pretty hard for snow to fall down here in Texas. Because of the always changing weather that goes on down here. But last year it did snow down here in June so yeah bizarre time of the year for snow but it was still fun all the same.

I haven't tried surfing or snowboarding yet, but every other sport/activity that involves balancing on a board im awesome. Skiing and ice skating im pretty good at to.

What gigs are they? And was the first one any good?

I went out last night, but not too late....got home at 2am, and i only had one drink. But last week was another story. I got home at about 5am, pissed as anything and woke up the next morning to the worst hangover i´ve had in my life - and i´m not one to get hangovers. I think that was due to mixing various alcohols, especially downing half a glass of some 40% herb liquor on it´s own. That messed me up pretty bad, lol, but i got 20Euros out of it ^_^

First gig, NME big gig, manic street preachers, kaiser chiefs, bloc party, klaxons, cribs, and it was okay. Bloc Party were incredible, but klaxons were shit. Second gig, Reel Big Fish, it's gonna be awesome.

Ok if everybody had to choose one lvl icon to go with there name what would it be? Idk really what mine would be but it think my current one goes somewhat good with my username.

Yeah they need to make it where you can request your own specific lvl icon that would best fit your user name. But of course that would take a massive amount of work to pull off but it would still be awesome to have.

Maybe you could make custom level icons and see if they get accepted by new mo0ds called "Level Mods"!
