I'm sad that nobody (other than me) has put down Hendrix.

However I am pleased that the people on this site have better taste in music than I thought they would (for the most part).

Hendrix is pretty good. Lotsa punk bands have covered manic depression, which I think is one of his best songs. I'm not that keen on All Along the Watch Tower, or many of his other popular songs. Izabella is a good one too. I wouldn't put him down as my all time favorite tho.

Um, second of all, Nirvana is nothing original. They just ripped everything off of old punk bands, mainly the Sleepers. Also, Pat Smear from Nirvana was in the Germs, which is a far superior band than Nirvana ever was. The whole grunge movement whose base principle was apathy was really dumb to begin with. Oh well.

Um, lots of old punk bands (Dead Kennedys, Weirdos, Cro-Mags, Germs). I also like Bob Marley and the Wailers along with other reggae stuff.

I think the best band ever is Bad Brains. I mean, first of all, they're black guys playing punk rock. They played it faster, harder, and with a hell of a lot more intensity than anybody out there. And then they could switch to reggae dub in an instant. Definitely right up my alley. They could play more than one music style, unlike many of the bands aforementioned.

I agree, and that is why I left a lot of bands that I liked off of my list. I did not, however, put bands I don't like on it.

Elvis stole songs and lyrics from southern black artists and was praised for it. So now answer my question: How was Pink Floyd overrated and Elvis not?

Pink Floyd is not overrated, if anything they are underrated.

The most overrated band of all time is the Beatles. While the Beatles are a great band so many people list them as the greatest band of all time (while they are far from it) that I feel they are very overated.

The 2nd most overrated band of all time is AC/DC because people actually consider the moronic crap they write music.

The Beatles, Bob Marley and the Wailers, the Ramones, the Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Stan Rogers and whoever he played with, maybe Creedence and The Band...Lots more. Bach doesn't count as a band I guess, but he'd be on there.

The Beatles probably take my top spot for sheer volume of quality music. I'm not really able to list a single band as the best ever though.

Well, in that case, the Beatles would be the worst band ever. The Monkees were modeled after the Beatles, and were also (at first) hugely based on image.
