Hey NGers! (wow that sounds like a racial epithet when put that way...) Tis I RiftMasturr with a new update on various crap going on with me and my cronies.

First off I'd like to congratulate my partner in crime, Edmund Mcmillen and his girl Danielle on tying the knot!!! Yep, Gish and Peashy's daddy is now a married man!
Leave kind thoughts and comments or else. There's not much that tops a news item like that, so I'm just gonna wish the happy couple a wonderful ever after and all that great mushy shit :)

The new ETGames' development is drawing to a close. There's a good chunk of backend crap left to code, and a few other small features and it's ready to go live! I can't possibly convey how stoked I am about the simultaneous re-design/re-vision/re-direction of the site, but let me just say it's gonna bad-ass. Basically the plan is to make the site a huge showcase, for all the best flash games on the web, and as such focus on nurturing the growing flash game development community, through a symbiotic relationship between the site and it's developers who submit their content. I've gotten damn sick of all the sites out there that rip people's shit and make money through ad revenue off it, the new ETGames is kinda my way of fighting back or countering that if you will, by creating a place where game developers
can have their work played by thousands upon thousands of people, have their site advertised on the game's page, have the game work with our highscore system, and most importantly be respected by not having their work used without their permission. This won't be an automated system, because it is targetted at serious and dedicated developers who make quality content, but the flipside of this is everytime someone submits a game and we add it, it will show up right on the frontpage and will stay there for however long it takes to get bumped off the page by new submissions. Thats what kinda sets the new ETG apart from the other sites that have come before it, in that all skilled game creators have a more or less equal opportunity to have their submission featured. We're going for quality over quantity, and I know there's lots of you talented game creators out there who aren't making dressup/hentai/dating sim shit.

I'll still occasionally make a small game for the site, but I'm simply too busy to supply all the content for the site anymore. If i have any time to work on Flash games these days it is with Edmund, on The Badlands. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to work on Badlands games soon, but I've been really busy doing freelance and stuff to pay my bills :(. Yep freelance, I even worked on something with Stamper. And I just might have to break his legs because I haven't seen the money yet from that project :D ;)

And finally, I'd like to invite you all to the newly re-designed Webtarded.com! Yeah yeah, I know the old layout sucked a rooster, so I did something about it! I added some new content, and will continue to on a more regular basis, we're also getting some new members to post news and shit. Should be fun. There's some tutorials here on Newgrounds, maybe you've checked them out already, I dont know. Just read the flash manual and dont give up. Mess around on your own as much as you can and download tutorials from www.flashkit.com. that was more or less how I started out.

Yeah pretty much. Since so many sites have ripped of Newgrounds' portal, I didn't want to just be another one of those sites. I was a big fan of the non-automated NG :)
Still love the newer form of NG of course, but it's just a totally different thing now.

Wow! what an honor, I've never considered myself a role-model for anything :D
And I look forward to hosting your games! If you're a novice programmer I would reccommend just making something that is simple but has a solid concept and gameplay. It doesn't have to be fancy to be good :)

I have Grave and Grave 2 out right now, those are my only first person shooters. I have 3 sidescrollers. Not sure if you are aware of this, but all of these quotes are pretty anti-newgrounds. You're now Tom's competitor and you're using his site's frontpage to directly derail his users. I find it to be kind of unsettling, and you deserve a slap on the wenis.

What I said is not anti-newgrounds. The new site can't even be compared to newgrounds as it's a completely different thing. When I mentioned other sites I was talking about peripheral johnny-come-lately type sites that just rip other people's shit without them knowing as content. ETGames will be a non-automated creator submission site focussing on quality games be they simple or complex. It's more of the deviantArt of flash games than a competitor or any of that bs.
