My thought on Christianity 2005-04-22 17:38:14

Think of it, how would the earth be created out of nothing? How would we be created to know something out of beginning with nothing? There are so many things to consider before you can say everything was created out of nothing. Plants, animals, people, water, rocks, how we think, there is so many things to consider that after a while, you can say either...

1)Probability isn't real because the chances of the whole universe being created perfectly is pretty much nil.

2)Probability is real and the one in a trillion chance it took to make the galaxy happened.

What do you think?

Will update once a week.

Our Creator made us evolve.

That would imply that we were not in the image of God at first.

I believe in some minor changes in "evolution" i guess you can call it. What i dont believe is completely changing from one species completely to another.

I learnt about this in philosphy the other week. its one of the main reasons why people belive in god.
My opionion is that humans are just to stupid to conceive infinity. Things called 'causal chains' (some thing causes some thing to happen, and so on.) make people think there must be a start to every thing (IE god, big bang, ect).

think that causal chains have been going on forever . if you try to take things out of context, like saying "but the chances of this world beeing the way it is is almost 0", its just a crap excuse, because you cant change the way the world is.

If you belive in god, good on you. most of the time it makes people better persons. just don't forget that physics and science is real.

i still dont get why people care where we came from cant they just accept that we are here now and some of us wont be tomarrow not by some grand sceem or anything just because the way things are just like how we know hydrogen is 1 on the periodic table and we tend to accept that. maby everything is just a well aligned arangment of hydrogen, maby everything is just some dream of someone who knows. all i know is im here this chair is here and i'm talking to a bunch of people that im not shure acctualy are there or even paying attention so ill just shut up for an hour or so

That would imply that we were not in the image of God at first.

How does that follow? To think that an omnipotent/omniscient being has a discreet physical form is kind of laughable. Especially since our physical forms are decided by the laws of the universe in which we reside. To attribute such similar characteristics to relams outside the influence of universal physics is silly.

Or in a less science-related way: The meaning of "in his image" is, I believe, a metaphor, or means something other than in a physical way, but rather in a spiritual way.

And who is to say that our evolution, our physical and spiritual growth is not what he had in mind in the first place: to start very far from his image and grow towards it?

Tis better to sit in silence and be presumed a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

Why? What if we were originally created in gods image, but have evolved over time?
