Do you do something else for a "permanent job?". The way you describe it, it seems like New Grounds isn't profitable engough for you to quit your day job. I assumed the sponsors were paying your bills. Maybe I misunderstood. I was curious, do you do anything else for a living, or is this your fulltime job. If so, are you alone?

RE: : For TEN YEARS, the NG office has always been in a basement, spare room, or even in the corner of my living room. Currently, I'm in the basement. It's a nice basement, but no one wants to hang out down here and the cats won't stay off the keyboard.

Getting an office will be a real coming-of-age moment for Newgrounds. I might actually be able to get some sort of a team to come to work every day, who knows. I'm trying not to get my hopes up; chances are it will just be a big empty room with me on a computer, ala that movie Simone with Al Pacino. I'm really hoping I'll have a team, though. It's just so hard to get people to come work in your basement. No one takes you seriously.

I don't want to jinx anything by giving away too many details. The place will need a lot of work if I get it. If my offer is accepted, I'll post pictures of the building and everyone can start to get excited about what we'll do with it. Ok, I probably shouldn't talk about it like it's OURS, it will really be MINE, ALL MINE! But I hope we can all share in the excitement of Newgrounds having an office. KEEP THOSE FINGERS CROSSED!

I am really excited for you Tom, and I'm sure everyone will be extremely happy if you get the office. NG will have its HQ and will finally have a permanent (Sure hope so) home.
But people wouldnt work in your basement? I could understand that but doesnt the fact you run a successful website with hundreds of thousands of users tempt some?

Anyway, the very best of luck in getting the office building. :D

Rock on, Tom! Good luck with getting the building.

Out of all the people, you really, really deserve an office. And by 'people' I mean
basement kids who run websites. If that office quest succeeds, I call janitorial duties.

Wow you're all grown up. Does this mean you will be expanding the scope of Newgrounds? Producing more games like Alien H? Maybe you could do a reality show: Comedy Central explores Newgrounds, they could follow you around and present some of the better Flash toons on *Cable*.
Or perhaps I am missing the point of this post conversation.

Assuming you get it, I vote you dub it Fulp Tower. It has a nice ring to it.

It's a one story building, so Fulp Tower wouldn't go over too well. :)

Ahahahahahahaa... well it's different when it's YOUR office, but I should really remove that quote now. :)

But yeah, after all these years of working from home, I'm getting the itch. The big problem is that people need to get together in a space and get energized and creative together. I've been having a hard time creating that environment in a house, so I'm trying the next step. Going solo has been great, but I don't want to be alone in a room for the rest of my life.

But as far as I know NG already has a great crew. James for the programming and database, your brother Wade for mainting NG and solving problems and Tim for the servers.

You can share the room ofcourse with Tim and Wade. But what about James?

And are you now saying you wanna get a bigger crew?
