Making Waves: $20.00 - $80.00 (Depending on the version)
Making Waves Audio 5 software gives you everything you need to create, record and produce professional and orignal music on your computer.
CREATE: Use the poweful sequencer to arrange audio samples, loops(.wav), midi, MP3's and virtual instuments* in your own song.
INSTRUMENTS: Compose music in minutes using your mouse or keyboard to control a wealth of available virtual instruments.
RECORD:Stereo record a solo performance our your whole band in studio quality audio.
EDIT: Tweak your audio recordings and recycle existing samples for unlimited creativity.
EFFECTS:Use genuine studio quality effects to give your music productions the edge.
MIX: Blend the elements of your songs and mixes using the powerful mixing and mastering tools.
SAVE: Export your finished music to Audio CD or as an MP3 file.
PROVEN: Making Waves software has won numerous awards in recognition of its unique combination of powerful features and unrivalled ease of use.
NO 1: Making Waves software is behind 4 x UK No 1 selling chart singles and a Platinum L.P.

* MW AUDIO 5 software supports a maximum of 2x Virtual Instruments and 2x VST Plug-in effects however should you require unlimited VST Instrument and PLUG-in support you can always upgrade to the STUDIO version at a later date.

======================

I've actually used this software. It really is pretty decent. You just click a sample, open up the grid, and tab out what you want it to play. Take the track below the sample and select "Effect" and you have the option to load an effect to the above sample. Clicking the grid here tuns the effect on or off so you can add effects on the fly.

It's not the most complex software in the world but it's a good one to get you started if you're on a budget.

I can't seem to find whats right for me. I tried all the free programs you listed but nothing worked perfectly for me. Any free editing software I can use to strip a beat off of a song or strip the vocals off a song?

Which is more powerful and feature-full... Apple's Logic Pro 7 or Steinberg's all-new Cubase 4? I only want answers from people who have used/use both heavily.

some other studios.

E-jay(www.Ejay.com )$9.99-$19.99
you can combine existing loops with eachother and make a song out of it, or you can put your own loops in it, and then you can make a good song.(pretty easy to use)

Virtual D-jay (www.VirtualDJ.com )$299.00
it's a virtual mixing table(or whatever you call it) that lets you scratch and make loops out of songs, just like a real life mixing table(has hardware too, the hardware costs $250.00)

That's next to impossible, but if you have an electron microscope, and the power of most professional recording studios, and the speakers/headphones with the quality several hundred times better than normal human hearing, you can do it.

Acid XPress (FREE!)

ACID XPress is a music creation tool. Make your own original music with the click of a mouse and a few "painted" strokes. It's easy--just pick some loops, paint them into a track, and play them back. It's the most fun you'll ever have creating music. Any loops you choose work together because ACID XPress matches the tempo and pitch automatically. When you're ready, publish your song on ACIDplanet.com, or stream it from your own Web site.

Reason or FL. Depends on how complex you want it. I would suggest Reason since it's stand alone like Garageband, but FL is less complex and has VST support. All depends on personal preference.

Reaper - FREE

Technically, it's uncrippled and unexpiring shareware. But even so!

This is an audio recorder, sequencer, VST host...all the things FL Studio , Cubase, and Reason do. But for free.
It won "Best Free Sequencer" in Computer Music magazine, and it deserved it. It has the most features out of any other free sequencer I've seen.

If you need help with it, I've written a tutorial to get you started right here.

I need a program called Super Duper Music Looper. the full version.

Its a program for kids 6-10 yrs old. although im pass those ages -_-

the program is easy to use tho. over a hundred loops from 9 types of instruments and sounds.
i've been trying to find the full version but i can only get the demo. Which is limited and has the crappyist sounds ever. I need the full version.

Someone hook me up.

Not sure. You could probably get cheaper old versions on eBay or elsewhere online, which will be perfectly satisfactory for the majority of musicians.

For those who are still reading the thread, check out the Audio Software: Software Synthesizers thread if you're interested.

Or you could illegally download. =-O

I'm a beginner too audio music making but I have fiddled with garage band at school a couple of times. But what program would you recommend for me? No experience just the will to learn and create.

This Thread is Big. I dunno If I plan on getting a comp Studio or not. My dad nearly fainted when I asked for a Workstation keyboard with an installed multitrack recorder. I'm Trying to get a studio package but theres so many to pick from. I like live recording because you get to do anything you want with your instrument and it gets recorded directly to your comp.

I'm not sure If I'm going off topic but can a multitrack recorder record instrument music beats into a comp and we just wire that into some recording software? And I just want to do this because making music on my Workstation is hard (well, not that hard...), But Still, I just want to add some loops and styles to my music so I'm just wondering.

Dang I make It so hard. If I don't get a reply I'm completely fine you guys.

"Right Here" "Fake" -StainD(Album: Chapter V)
"Famous last words" -My chemical romance (album: welcome to the black parade)
"In the End" "Numb" "What Ive Done" -Linkin Park
