I can't tell if you're serious or not. If you kidding around, then I'm sorry that's immature.

am i the only one who has the worst time mixing and mastering???? it seems that whenever i use multiple 3x osc in my songs they always interfer with one another even if i cut the high sounds from one and the low from the other {i just relized how stupid that sounds because that would just leave the mid to mess with one another}. anyways i guess i need help with that. also when i add drums to that they always get all cut off and end up sounding horrible. a little help anyone?

This guide might help you a little bit.

Make sure your synths are playing in different ranges. If you have multiple synths playing in the bass ranges around C3, C4, or C5, of course they're going to interfere with each other. This also happens to a lesser extent around the higher C6, C7, C8-ish ranges as well. And, same deal for your drums - unless you know how to layer, multiple kicks (for example) won't do you very much good, and having the kick hit rapidly may muddy up your mix as well.

It seems you already have that in mind though. Try lowering the volumes of all of your synths by 10, 20%. Does it sound any better?

Past those tips I really can't offer much more help, you're vague in places. :( If this doesn't help, why don't you elaborate on what you mean?

I read through your guide and found it very helpful. I noticed that i was making some of the mistakes you spoke of.

One thing i did was i would play two scores ( from different instruments that had interfering pitches) at the same time with their EQs next to each other and try and get them to work. the problem was that they worked at that time in the song but later they were off.

So im still a little confused on how to fix that. Do i just change the area on the parameter eq so that each instrument is playing at a different frequency, even if i have to change frequency of each instrument to a frequency their not so strong in? and what about instruments that change in cutoff through out the song? Does that come last possibly and i just avoid changing the cutoffs to areas it doesn't get along in?

Thanks for your time, you have no idea how much i appreciate it. In the mean time, ill keep practicing.

I have a question:

Is there any way for you to save a setup you used in the Fruity Mixer so it can be used later?

Glad it helped. :D

Now, there's your problem. You can't change the fundemental frequency of a pitch being played, regardless of the synth. You can weaken it or make it stronger, but you can't change the range a synth plays in merely by EQing it - a bass synth won't turn into a lead by boosting treble and cutting bass while leaving it at C4, but instead by raising it two or three octaves to C6/7 and perhaps tweaking it some to fit better. Same deal here, don't EQ it, just move it a few octaves. Of course, know that synths have ranges the same way a voice or an instrument would - there's a point where a synth gets too low or high for practical use. ;)

Also, just a thought, why don't you check for clashing notes? Make sure all of your notes are in the scale - clashing notes might cause this unpleasant interference you're hearing.

Last thing, playing two synths alone is good to get harmonies to work out but bad for mixing - you need to hear where they fit in for the final mix. Playing them alone is ok, but the end product is most important, so try to minimize that kind of mixing, and instead mix as the track plays. One thing I do is set a section of the track to loop, and then tweak the mix as it plays, so I can hear the changes live - you might do that already but if you don't, you might want to start... ;D

Past that, the most I can suggest is to keep practicing as you said you would do. Good luck. :)

Well you could just save the project with settings you have all set up. Open that project whenever you want to make a song using setup you had on the mixer. It's like the genre templates FL comes with.

If you're getting really serious about making music, then yes, getting a midi keyboard is a good idea.

Even if you get it and you someday no longer want to make music, the midi keyboard is a fun and interesting thing to have.

Hey.
I'm wondering how to speed up vocals without having the pitch affected. Specifically, I have a set of vocals which sound great but are made for a 130 bpm song, which is significantly slower than I want to work with it.
I'm assuming there's some way to do this with edison, or maybe some other area of FL? I just haven't done anything with vocals really so I'm not sure where to look.

Go to the channel setting of the vocal, in the middle you should see ''Time stretching''. right-click on the ''Time'' knob, and select ''auto detect''. right of the knob, you should see something like ''resample''. click that, and select ''pro default.'' it'll load for a few secs, and then you can just set it to any bpm you want.

Hope this helps.

Meh.

I've selected a sound:

ChannelPresets>3xOsc>Glitchy

The only thing I don't like about it is it automatically comes with an oscillator. How can I turn off the oscillation and just get the raw sound?

What do you mean it comes with an oscillator? The oscillator is the thing producing the raw sound..

Do you mean the slight swooshing sound that slowly changes the texture of the sound? Go to the [INS] tab and then click the [CUT] tab below that, look at the LFO section in the second area down and turn the [AMT] knob to the middle. You might wanna turn the MODX value in the filter section to the right of that all the way to the left to set it to 0.

What do do you suggest I use to get a basic electric guitar sound?

Right now I have my guitar plugged into my computer, and play it through the "whitenoise stereodist>corrupted" filter thing. It gives it a nice grungy sound, but now I want to do a song with a cleaner electric guitar. Any suggestions?

I am so beyond angry right now!

If you may remember, my FL engine kept crashing and spazing out on even the most minimal songs. Well I took the advice of Karco and tried to re-install my FL. Well guess what, still the same problem.

So does ANYONE know how I could possibly fix this?
I was thinking maybe I could system restore to a previous date of sorts? I'm really running out of ideas here! I want to make music again. :(

Okay. I've got FL Studio 8. In the sidebar there are all the folders such as "Packs" and other folders that open up. "Packs" is the one with a lot of preset instruments in it, but are there any other folders, containing premade arps, instruments, etc, in the same sidebar? Where are all the other instruments hidden?! Thanks

Well, under the ''Plugin presets'' tab you can find a lot of effects, ''channel presets'' has a lot of sounds, just try and look around. If you have the demo, you will find a lot less presets.

don't know anything about FL 8 btw, still using FL 7

Meh.

well you know were your channels are? Well you can click Channels > add channel, and there you have a whole list of plugins (Wasp, toxic, simsynth, sytrus, 3xOsc, to name a few)

I suggest you to start playing around with sytrus and the 3xOsc :)

Hope that helps

Yeah so continuing on with my problem:

I re-installed FL, that worked a little, but it still spikes easily. The re-install did fix my ASIO problems, haha

I tried to post in the forums on the FL site. I registered, etc, but I said "registered users cannot post in these forums". So thats FUBAR.

So anyone have ANY idea what I can do? I'm really getting upset over this.
