Does anyone know how to make a decent slide guitar sound?

sometimes it happens sometimes it doesnt, but how do i make it so when i click it automatically lines up with the grid, and how to i undo that function, sometimes i need it sometimes i dont

At the top toolbar in FL, there will be a box that says Snap to: and have like "Line" or something in there... Change it to what you want.

Ok, so I just got FL Studios, is there any way that I can learn how to use it. I want to be like these great audio artists some day. If anyone can help please do.

Is there a way to add more effects on certain chnnels. I want to adjust the ' kick' a little more but I can't figure out how to do it.

You should have your different drums set out on different patterns in the playlist so you can easily edit them from the Mixer. You should also have a seperate channel on the step sequencer for all of your different drum sounds. Once you've got all this, go to the one that has the kick on it, a little box will pop-up saying "Channel Settings - Kick" for example, then on the top right of that box will be a box with probably "--" in it and "FX" underneath it, you want to mouse click and drag up or down depending on which channel in the mixer you want your kick to be on. To view the mixer press F9, and when you're dragging your FX number you should see the highlight flick from one Mixer channel to another, you should place all your different sounds on a different mixer channel for easier editing.
Once you've got your kick onto one of those, select it, and then on the right will be a load of arrows which is what you click to add effects to that channel, you can click them or you can go to the bottom where you see see a little square graph with white lines in it and you can drag and move them around to get different sounds.

I've probably completely buggered up the wording there and you may not understand it but i tried my best :P

heres a question im not sure how to explain...i was wondering how to make a sound sound muffled and then gradually become clear. a good example of this is in the song "flying away" when the bassline first comes in its kinda muffled but clears up, can someone plz tell me how to do that

It's pretty simple actually.
Select your bassline, then in the mixer press ctrl+L. Your bassline should now be selected in the mixer. On the right hand side of the mixer, you will notice some drop down menus. From that select "Fruity Filter".
After you've done that, on the left hand side of Fruity Loops scroll all the way up until you see "Current Project". Under that there should be a sub category "Effects". Click that and you should see "Fruity Filter (Bassline)". Click that, then right click on "Cutoff freq" and click "Create automation clip". Now in your sequencer, you will notice towards the bottom the "Fruity Filter(bassline) - Cutoff Freq".

Mess around with that and you'll get the sound effects you want.

i was wondering if someone could tell me how to do a single trance kick with some reverb like stuff on it, heres an example of what i mean, go to 0:13 of this song http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/9 8265

You can add an echo or chorus onto a kick or cymbal and it will give you that effect.

yeh, do exactly what you said... Add reverb like stuff onto it.

I've got a crash sound, with a lot of reverb, but it's only in 1 bar and it automatically cuts the reverb off, but i don't want it to do that, is there a way to extend the track without extending the notes of my crash?

i tried adding reverb to it and it didn't sound right

In the properties of the crash there should be a Cut and cut by box... Turn those to however many measures you want the sound to last...

I've created a basic trance synth "Eurogate" for a new loop I'm working on and I've put in an automation clip for obvious reasons. What I'd like to know is, is there a way to change the pitch using the automation clip or is there some other way in which this is done.

Help is appreciated.

Yes.

On the left handside of the sequencer where all of your current channels are kept, you should have the icon for your Eurogate. Click it to open the channel properties. Now, along the top of the channel properties window you will see several knobs, the one above pitch is what you're looking for.

Right click the knob and click "create automation clip."

This will make your pitch automation clip down in the bottom half of the playlist window.

Adjust it as needed, and remember that it will only affect the pitch of the eurogate as long as the auto clip is under the bars in the playlist.

Alternatively, you could just make pitch bends if the gated synth itself comes from a preset built into FL. The pitch bend button is the little right angle triangle in the upper-left corner of the piano roll.

It's extremely complex, once you dive into it.

However, it's very easy when you're just getting started, it's very user-friendly.

There are just so many possibilities with it, most people whom are experts at it are still learning tricks and tweaks.

Well actually its EXTREMELY easy at all times if you read tutorials and learn as you go. It only gets really complex if you try and do everything on your own. But if you take the help handed out by others then it will be a lot easier.

There aren't any really GOOD orchestral sounds in Fruity Loops. However, you can BUY some VST Plug-ins such as Edirol Orchestral, or East-West Symphonies.

I think MaestroRage has a list of sorts on his page, under New Posts.

Anyone know any really really good sounding drum VST's or VSTi's i can get?
I don't get if i have to pay for em just gimme gimme :p

There's a soundfont called Squidfont Orchestral, do a google search and you'll find a download of it. It includes Violas, Violins, Cellos, C-Bass, Trumpets, Trombones, Flutes, Oboes, a orchestra percussion kit and a load of other stuff.

If you're serious about making classical music then it'd be worth buying a good sample library like Sonic Impants, VSL or EastWest ones.

Hey guys, i'm having a SERIOUS problem now, my Fruityloops has fucked up, in Piano roll when i try to draw a note, instead of just placing one down it will act as a plaser & a sizer as in, when the cross appears over the note it makes it stretch the size of the note instead of just move it.

Might i have enabled something by accident or does anyone know how i can fix this? :(

Either press the "insert" button on your keyboard or press capslock. I think that solved it for me =)

I had it for the longest time. I was like what the hell, and I got really mad. Finally I asked, and I felt stupid...
