I'm not sure if a question like this has been asked already. I've been using FL for a while now, and become pretty good at it and all of the features, but now im thinking about buying a new synthesizer as an add-on. Sytrus was my first though, and i was wondering if it would be helpful and productive for me, as someone who like to do a lot of electronic and realistic music. Would sytrus be worth it, and if not what other generator/synthesizer would you suggest?

Hmm... Sytrus is good for beginners, is very powerful, and has lots of presets. Vanguard is not too powerful, is easy to use, and can sound damn good if used correctly. Z3ta is incredibly powerful, very expensive, and is probably your best bet for trance.
Choose whichever you like!

thanks, i think i'll go with sytrus, seems like it should be a good way to start doing some new synth sounds. Hopefully i'll get more variety than with just the 3x Osc.

"Clone Selected Pattern"
i jumped from 4 to 6 and that was a monumental improvement. the amount of time it used to take to copy and paste automation data was such a pain.

the 3x Osc can be really good if u wanna learn more about synths. everything the sytrus can do it is possible to recreate using the 3x Osc and an FX channel. although it does require more effort. the pay off is u know exactly how to make a sound and u can change all aspects of it. brrrp

Go to effects and go to Fruity Scratcher. That is like a turntable.
Hmm, why do you want soundfonts? Aren't samples or synths easier?
Well, I did a quick google search, and I got http://www.soundfonts.it/. It looks pretty respectable, you should give it a look.

You need to raise your buffer, or your CPU is maxing. Are you using ASIO? if not, your going to have a really laggy buffer; And, is your CPU Maxing? in that case you can try raising the buffer, but most likely you wont be able to do anything, besides getting a more powerful computer. The buffer settings are in the main audio settings, there will be a slider, and with ASIO there will be a driver window where you change the buffer.

Look at the sequencer (playlist) to the right of of the little boxes that you fill in to make sounds. There's patterns listed along the side (pattern 1, pattern 2, etc) that you can name and put certain things into (like, if you want a bassline in one pattern and the drums in another, you can do it and just put that down in the playlist). Just try clicking around on the patterns and on the sequencer and you'll see what I'm talking about.

In school, you learned how to search properly in search engines. Google it.

So newgrounds, I come here again, after a long absence.
My question is about actual piano tablature. In the piano-roll, what is a G-note, for example?
I can't seem to figure out. Also, you have a G-key, and another kind of key, what's it's name again?

Hey, I just thought I'd post a page no where you can get some pretty good tutorials on FL Studio, and there also happens to be some tutorials on musical theory as well. I suggest anyone new to making music check them out.

You build the song from the loops in the playlist window, each channel(on the y axis) is a differnt loop you built in the step sequencer window while the x axis represents time.
Play around with the playlist window and you will figure it out in no time :)

How can I import a MIDI sample written in another program to an existing project? I tried the import command and the open command, and they both make me start a new project.
Hell yeah, motherfucker.
