What am I doing back here after six months? MaestroRage has been submitting something every week and I only have two pieces to show for half a year... :p
Anyway, here they are:
"Down the River from Kievan Rus" (4 mins)
This is one of the more melodic things I've ever written. I'm especially proud of the section two minutes into it, with the violin playing a beautiful melody and the harp playing very fast broken chords under it. This was actually an assignment for a certain class, so the instrumentation was fixed. Originally, it was: Violin, viola, euphonium, flamenco guitar, santur, marimba.
"The Great Royal Gallop" (2 mins)
My main goal in writing this one was for it to not be boring. There's a lot of stuff packed into the short running time. Instruments: Flute, 2 Trumpets, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba, Marimba
Yes, I do like the marimba. :) Please tell me what you think! I'll review a piece of anyone who writes a review.
