That Motherload game is going straight to my favourites. It just strictly rocks. The game, the plot, the idea, the graphics, the sound. THE ADDICTION. Hell yeah.

And have a nice trip to England Tom... Hope you'll meet some NG members there (seems like quite some people live there, so I guess you'll meet some maybe, and that's always a good thing).

Hell yeah.

Maybe I'm just a conspiracy theorist, but I find Motherload on NewGrounds to be a bit odd.....
the game was created by GenX around September...I remember playing it on many sites and it got a lot of coverage. Most big company's put their games on newgrounds for coverage, but since Motherload has been out since september I Can't think of a reason why its on newgrounds now.

also, it made the front page? a game that has been out for 6 or 7 months, by a large and wealthy company made the front page? hmmmm its my belief that GenX payed Newgrounds a nice sum of money to have its game on here. any other reason just doesn't make sense.

if it is NOT the case, then I gotta say, I'm just ashamed at newgrounds for being a whore for big company's. I've seen many games and movies on newgrounds from bigger companies just trying to get coverage. is that all newgrounds is becoming?? just a place for big company's to make more money and get more viewers?

need an example? how about the fact that there are new TWO games on the front page made by Cublo games??? the cublo games website probably had a 500% increase in traffic and probably made a nice profit.

I know the world is becoming more and more capitalistic but I didn't think Newgrounds would ever give in to the almightly dollar. maybe I just like complaining, but I really don't like seeing games on Newgrounds from big company's. ITS NOT ITS FUNCTION!

NewGrounds was made for small-time flash artists to submit their works and get tips on how to make it better. it was NOT meant for Cublo Games and GenX studios so that their stocks can go up.
peace.

Newgrounds has never accepted money for placing a game in the featured Flash section (featured web content is a different story, but we keep it divided). Skye has been a long-time NG contributor and I met him in person at the Independent Games Festival. Just because he has formed a company and is outputting high quality work doesn't mean he is some big money mega-corp. He's a long-time user who is making a name for himself and that is something to be proud of. We will continue to support him. I would have put Motherload on the front page if he had submitted it months ago, it just so happens he didn't submit it until this week.

I made the post promoting it because he submitted it under a new XGen account and I wanted users to know it was Skye behind it. He has submitted some very revolutionary and popular Flash in the past and has an existing fan-base.

Wonder why Skye hasn't submitted Stick RPG Complete yet? I think it would do awesome on the site. I oughtta drop him an E-mail to encourage him to submit. Don't know why he'd listen to me, but it's worth a shot.

Hey Tom, I know this doesn't have high priority, but you still have updating the Christmas 2004 collection on your to do list (and I'm one of the few authors woh that concerns).

Whenever you have time, sir =)

Here's hoping. But I had to send an E-mail to XGen Studios anyway with questions about the game, so I included about NewGrounds. Hope you don't mind.

Hey, I've played that game somewhere else too. Very addictive, too addictive. I submitted Grave 2 today, my 5th game on NG. So close to winning a portal award, I think it's in 8th place. It has the highest score I've ever gotten though :) (unprofessional) Games are too underrated! Anyways, yay, motherload is a great game!
