Yah know, I always assumed that field had something to do with the search engine. Like, if you typed "sprites" into the short description, and then searched for sprites, your flash come up. Albeit on something like page 96, but there none the less.
Guess not, then.

yea, how do you leave it blank

Not many good artists who are featured on the front page leave nothing in the desciption. Is it that they go straight into long paragraphs about the production and other crap other than the movie? Still, can encourage people to do this stuff enough.
Don't confuse the author comment with the brief description (which is what Wade's talking to - I think the current character limit on that is 90 characters). Ordinarily, the brief description is only ever seen by us and the artist who has uploaded the animation, unless the description is accurate enough to be used directly on the front page and that's seldom the case, which is why Wade's pointing this out. :)
^_^ Well said Liljim. I really need to submit more flash work... Got sooo much flash but none of it is long enough to not get blammed ^_^. Working (slowly) on some big ones though ^_^
The more you can do to help us, the faster we can feature your work!
Yea do wutever NG says .....or else we will kill you :D

Cool... can we get an ETA for the new automated collection things?
i knew thats what that was for!!!
im so smart:)
(im scared im gonna miss one of these topics, with all the new flash rules posted on the bbs, there should be a link to these threads on the flash submit page, not all flash artists use the bbs, i rarely use it anymore)
Well... that's good to know... I already went back and updated the ones I left blank... or put shrewd comments in...
It'd be nice to see one of my toons up on the front page someday... even if it was only for a day or two...
Hmm... ...I wonder if my Clock Crew toon will get into the collection now?
does anyone know where i can download a flash cartoon maker for free.
if not where can i buy one and how much will it be for a good one?
Thats really handy to know. I like Tom's summaries for my flash movies alot too actually, some were very flattering *blushes*
It makes more sense now, I was wondering what that part did since it can't be seen by regular members...
Next Release ETA: ?
yeah they really should start putting real messages into the description box. If newgrounds were to use the actual description every time, it would say sruff like
"just a stupid flash"
"I made it in december"
see my point?

Read liljim's post further up the page. That's not what the box is for.

I think this is what half of the bbsers should be saying
£5 man slut for hire. Inquire within
I always did anyways, I just did them half-assed 'coz I didn't think it was anything important >.<
Anyways, thanks for the explanation Wade!
