Anyone have this problem? Mar. 26th, 2005 @ 04:56 PM Reply

I am really good at using flash, my art isn't bad, and I'm told I am extremely creative. That being said I have never finished a flash animation. I get half way through and lose interest, or my artistic abilities don't produce what I want to see. Things like that.
Does anyone else have this problem? Like you cant finish a single project, whether it be a school or with your own stuff?
Any suggestions? It gets really bothersome after a while. Do you think the solution is to just DO it, no more excuses, no matter what the end result? Shoot.

happends to me sometimes. i usually end up leaving the file unfinished in my computer for months, and then finishing it later all sloppy-like.

Write a script, and think about in what order to make stuff. Organise it all, and its easier to finish it.

Thats my current solution, but the idea I'm working with is pretty fucking art intense. I think I might tone down the idea or just come up with a new one.

I feel your pain. I've got horrible writer's block right now. My goal is to finish my one term paper today, and I'm only halfway through it. I can probably get through the other half by the end of the night, but I've hit massive writer's block and am struggling with it. Stupid school.

Yea, those are good, but I usually listen to music while I work, getting into a major trance like state. The other problem is I live at a boarding school, and we aren't allowed outside at night (of course) so I feel kind of caged. I really wish I could just go out and get some fresh air, that helps a lot when I am home.

Your just being lazy cause you no longer want to create the flashes. What you should do is either force yourself to do them or think of an ending to where it is now. Or just put to be continued where you are now and finish it when you feel you can.

Yea, the solution to that is usually to just cough out whatever will come, smash that block, and redo it later, like you got the crap out of your system... Usually it is crap but sometimes it ends up being good. It's weird.

Well, what one of my friends did, is do the begining and the end first. Then create the rest in the middle to join the two sides. After he did the end he really started working on it quite a bit to try and get it done.

Aren't you hardcore. Making a judgement about someone who you have never met and no nothing about. Bitter about something?
And I think we all know that slapping a -ph- where an -f- should be makes us just that much more hardcore. Go die?

Always happens to me, but only for stuff I want to do. I mean like I've writtin - or started writing - some story things. I got 22 pages done with one of them, and I just quit about last year, and I can't get myself to start working on it again. Same with another one that was only about a page. Also with StarCraft maps, I'm working on one right now, but I'm thinking once I get farther I'll eventually stop. I've done it before, with about 7 other maps, all unfinished. It sucks.

That seems the closest anyone has come describing it. It's a sudden, total loss of interest I guess.

When I just started animating, I had that problem really bad. When I look back, I'm almost happy though. The stuff I was making was total shit. Anyways, you'll probably get over it over time. I did.

Zing.
