I just learned this fact, and thought I should share it. Well, apperently Pokemon red/blue were banned in Saudi Arabia, because it possesed the minds of children and promoted Zionism.... I could see the possesing part... Where does it promote Zionism though?

Hmmm, zionism eh? Isn't that mean freedom or something? Well, you are like a 10 year old kid running around by yourself in the game. Maybe thats it eh?

You've not carefully analysed the teachings of Jigglypuff, have you?

Donald Duck is banned in Finland.

From www.dictionary.com:

"A Jewish movement that arose in the late 19th century in response to growing anti-Semitism and sought to reestablish a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Modern Zionism is concerned with the support and development of the state of Israel."

Next stop, Yu-Gi-Oh, Inuyasha, and other anime trash that cleverly escapes the stupidity of having talking animals and glorified card games by making it into popular culture.

you can totally tell that half the people here hate pokemon and the other half like it. strange seeing as i love pokemon for what it is, and that's a decent game. seriously, if there had been no merchandise or anime series then it wouldn't be a taboo. anyway, i really hate how countries just ban stuff for stupid reasons.

I'm guessing that the Saudi Arabian leader just hated Pokemon like we do, and used Zionism as an excuse to ban it. Maybe we should get George Bush to ban Pokemon in the USA, and blame it on Communism.

Possibly, I've had conflicting reports. Chances are it may well be an urban myth.

Thats your opinion. Frankly, I don't think Pokemon necessarily mind controls, but it certainly does fall into the category of "excessive consumerism." I seriously can't think of anything that demanded kids to collect and buy everything even remotely related to this than the Pokemon craze. Maybe Saudi Arabia is on the right track.......ban Pokemon and kill Zionist conspirators.
