So is this going to be something held every month? Or will this just be these two months? Or are you just doing it until you feel like not doing it? Not planned? What's happening?

If word of these donations were to get out, people might not prejudge the site
and possibly get more traffic from people who wouldn't normally visit NG
if they heard about things like this.
They might be disgusted and leave in a huff,
but at least they visited.
Well I think Shock_Value is a very kind hearted person.

That's really cool of them.
I also sent out the $100 check for the voter of the month, who is receiving a Newgrounds t-shirt as well. Yay!
...Maybe I'll get lucky one of these times... :)
.
Congrats to all those who won.
<3 to the 1st place winner.
Unless I get off my butt and actually make something the only chance
I have of winning is getting voter of the month.
i would have signed up earlier if i knew we got prizes.
i could use th 250$
i need a MP3 player
i gained so much respect for the maker of interactive buddy
My god!
Money can be given away?!
I thought it was to be hoarded, stolen from others, or burned in the festive manner of lighting a cigar.
But given away?! Unheard of!
The guy is a saint.
At least compared to my money grubbing self.
Internal Fires or The Fall of Gandalf: which do you think will be the first to win the prize?

Holy crap, how generous.

I'm guessing you mean SamBakZa.
How is that going to work anyways? They is Korean :O And are they considered a company? I'm wondering if I should vote for them when the time comes...

Based off these winners. You can pretty much guess that most popular( highest score) flash will win. I voted based on um I forgot.
Wow Shock-value respect went through the roof. and he deserves all the e-respect.
Yes I think suicide is funny and I am sick of pretending its not.

Interactive Buddy v.1.01
Bunnykill 2
-Play-
Valentine's Day Special
X-Men:Dark Phoenix Rising
Each of these authors is receiving a prize pack including a certificate of award (complete with embossed gold NG tank seal), a Newgrounds t-shirt and a check for $250.
Shock-Value, the creator of Interactive Buddy, chose to turn down the $250 award. He asked instead that it be donated to The American Cancer Society. Congrats again to the winners! In less than two weeks our panel will be deciding the top five contributors for March!
[[[ Hey TOM, as a member and CHAIRPERSON OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA's AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, we think its great that that person gave a generous donation. I am an animator as well, and it just makes our chances for fighting cancer easier with a donation even as little yet meaningful all the same as yours. Thank you Tom.
Chris.

That's funny. HAHAHA! Reading down!? Reading past the first post to see if your question's been answered is for pussies. Liljim, you make my belly slosh slightly as I giggle at your antics.

Wow, great job jumping on Jim's back to get another post. Three words to agree with that he said. You didn't even try. Chances are most people will agree with what he said, so letting people know you agree with what he said is pointless and idiotic, especially when you only say three words. Nice job. My hat goes off to you.
I wish my flash sucked a little less or I might get one of these awards sometime.
the site is doing pretty well if they can give away money.
What happens if you can't get a hold of an author Tom? I'm sure by buds sam bak za is going to get one of the 5 spots, but its very difficult to contact them seeing that they get 1000 emails a day, cant understand english well, and are based in Korea = ]
Do their submissions automatically go to some sort of charity or would you go to the next runner up? (sorry if you have already answered the question)
why stop at weak
author of the month
author of the year
author of the decade
author of the lunar callendar year
amish author of the weak
well the first 3 are lagit

Congratulations to the winners and Kudos to Shock-Value. A nice show of compassion.
Its great to see such great artists receiving such great awards! ^_^
It's also really honourable to see that a flash artist would donate their money to a worthy organisation.
Those certificates look awesome- I'd sure love to get my hands on one.
Keep up the excellent work Tom and to the rest of the NG artists :)

That game rocks... I played that when I saw it on the Portal under judgment for about 3 hours straight.
On top of that now, Shock-Value just gained infinite respect in my book, since My mother is a Cancer surviver, and my grandmother just passed away this December from Cancer. That was a totally benevolent thing to do.
Congradualtions on the winners - look forward to seeing more submissions of great stature submitted and passed into the Portal....

What a guy...
Thank god - Play - won one, that creation is so incredible!
