As some of you know, Gish went on to win the grand prize at the Independent games festival, along with also winning the award for best game play. Sadly the press generated by this killed our servers and the chronic logic homepage has been down for close to 5 days. But we how have a new host that can handle more traffic and we are hosting a new demo (11mb) for the game. the new demo includes a few collection modes that will be used in future contests to win free copies of Gish (but more on that later).
Anyway I posted a few new pictures on an NG BBS thread here. I also found a video of the award ceremony on gamespot.com, the video is kinda long, so basically once the video starts playing you want to skip to the 42:00 min mark and the award ceremony will start, it shows tom and dan receiving their awards along with us receiving the grand prize and me proposing to Danielle on stage.
So again, anyone who hasn't played Gish DOWNLOAD THE DEMO! (we also suport Mac and linux), it won the grand prize damn it! If that isn't a good enough reason to check it out.. I don't know what is. Also be sure to check out the other igf winners like Wik, N and Global Defense Network on the IGF home page.

I own (and finished) Gish and I have to say it's an excellent game. Everyone go and get it. It even has a level editor now, you know? (Hard to use, but after a few weeks you may be making acceptable levels ;) That's when you're ready to play with the piston parameters and feel like a noob again!) The only not-so-good thing is that the (damn hard) later bosses are not very smart and keep doing pretty much the same thing... Hera, particularly.

No. None of the front page affiliates pay to make announcements.

Of all the games, in both categories in this years IGF, N was easily the most fun. Not bad for a lil old flash game :D

But you got paid to post about those "whacky" comercials in the past though, right? Not that it's relevant.

I lost more then 3 months and a whole lotta productivity to that game. I still haven't beat all the levels.

Yes, I do the occasional paid plug and I hope it's pretty obvious to regular users when I do it. I usually try to use the word "plug" in the post, although I occasionally plug stuff for friends as well. For example, if I plug that Milton software, I am just doing it to help out one of my friends. I really should create a front page accound for a blatant "plug-bot". :)

The word "PLUG-BOT" makes me giggle.

Gish definately derserves the awards, the gameplay is smooth and fluid and the controls are really responsive, graphics aren't the best, but I like that because it gives it a 'retro' feel. I also think the controls were well chosen as it hardly took me any time at all to get used to them. The concept is also really original, much like Alien Hominid (although I have yet to play this, as I haven't been able to get hold of a PAL version yet), and the physics make this a joy to play. It just shows what you can accomplish, even if you're on a tight budget. Congratulations!
