I think he was referring to countering aggron's counter.

Oops. Anyway using a Flying type to counter Ground/Fighting types isn't preactical because so many Pokemon learn Earthquake or Brick Break via TM. Electivire learns Cross Chop and can learn Earthquake, and he has a pretty high Attack stat. I don't think switching a Flying type into Electivire would be wise.

So, not fire then? My first go through, that Miltank and its Rollour mad my Quilava's life hell. I was never really partial to any of the starters, but I might go Totodile or Cyndaquil, I'm not sure.

Having been at the receiving end of that combo before and coming off worse, I know it has some serious power behind it.

I'm really wondering whether or not I should consider Garchomp an uber. I know I once said he should sit comfortably in OU, but I've been thinking: He does have devastating power behind him, he does have access to two great STAB moves, he can definitely take a hit as long as it isn't super effective, and Nintendo gave Garchomp a base 102 speed just to mess with our heads. I do agree now that a scarfed Garchomp can really do damage in ubers, but to keep him in OU, should we ban choice scarf on Garchomp like sould dew on lati@s? Without a choice scarf, Garchomp can basically be countered by anything carrying an ice move that outspeeds it, scarfed or not. I would imagine most serious teams have something along those lines. But if choice scarf is banned on Garchomp, then any other OU dragon can put on a choice scarf and wreak havoc.

Currently I'm undecided about Garchomp's standing in ubers but I hope this gives a little insight on the matter.

Choice Scarf Outrage in OU as a method of sweeping would just invite Skarmory to take the attacks, and setup with Spikes, Roost when necessary, then Whirlwind him away. Choice Scarf means he has a safe switch in. Life Orb makes switching into him incredibly difficult. Of course, taking Garchomp into a faster Pokemon with a hard hitting Ice attack, means bye bye Garchomp, but that doesn't mean he has to switch in, unless he's the last Pokemon on the team, but he should never be used as the last. Don't forget he has a usable Special Attack and can use Flamethrower to beat anything that walls him otherwise.

Guys, I thought I might just remind you that for those of you who don't have a Darkrai yet, you can get a Member card over wifi to get to New Moon Island where you can catch it.

And I figured out how to get my wifi working. I have to uninstall and reinstall the USB Wifi connector software... every time. So I'll only be doing this for big events over wifi...

pfft... I'll get the Drakrai just for the sake of having it. Usually though, legendaries aren't worth the Ultra Balls. Also, is the member card just for Platinum, or can you get it for Diamond/Pearl? (not that I need it for my Diamond, I already have like, two.)

I think it's just for Platinum. I'm planning on ransoming mine off to a friend who doesn't have wifi. >:)

Third, and yeah, definitely a pain-in-the-ass in that stage of the game. >_<

Miltank has to be one of the most underrated Pokemon out there - esp. with it now having access to the Scrappy ability.

yeah, none of us can deny the fact that we'll eventually have to face that GOD AWFUL BEAST OF A POKEMON!!! But I'm gonna look up EVERYTHING on the Pokemon before I choose which one I want. Moves, stats*not affected by EVs, stat increasing items, and natures* everything.

That mean's you'll find yourself switching out your Aggron more than you would even use him. Almost all physical attacking Pokemon have access to a Ground or Fighting type move, and use it. Aggron can't take special hits as well. His slow speed does not help him survive either.

I think that the spot of "my favorite Pokemon" has now been given to Shuckle. I'm sure all of you know about its colossal Defenses, allowing it to stand up to a crapload of attacks, but I just found out about the massive damage a Shuckle can do. You're probably wondering, "How the hell can a Pokemon with one of the crappiest Attack ratings in the entire game possibly cause any damage?" Well...

"Shuckle has the highest Defense and Special Defense stats of any Pokémon, with a max of 614 in them with beneficial natures (which are also the highest non-HP stats in existence)." This is already known. But, "After using Power Trick, Shuckle has the highest Attack of any Pokémon with a max of 614 in it with beneficial natures (To compare, Deoxys's Attack form's maximum Attack stat is 504)." And then, you can raise that even more if you Skill Swap Pure Power or Huge Power, which can give it a maximum Attack stat of 1228.

Under these circumstances (and assuming that the above has already been done), "a level 100 Shuckle can potentially deal the most damage in one single attack through the use of numerous stat boosters, by using Helping Hand, Metronome held item, and the Defense Curl/Rollout combo. On the 5th impact of Rollout, if used against a level 1 Ledyba or Yanma that have been hit with negative Defense modifiers (such as Screech), it can deal over 315,000,000 damage." If you're thinking it's useless seeing as no one uses a Ledyba/Yanma in their team, "The fifth hit of the Rollout combo would be enough to knock out 490196 Blisseys."

If you're wondering what some of the terms above are, Power Trick is a move that switches the user's Attack and Defense stats. Skill Swap is a move that switches the Abilities of two Pokemon. Huge Power and Pure Power are Abilities that doubles the user's Attack stat (although Huge Power's multiplier is reduced to 1.5x when Skill Swap is used, making Pure Power the better choice). Helping Hand is a move used only in Double Battles that increases the power of the partner's move by 1.5x. The Metronome is a held item that raises the power of a move by 10% if it is used repeatedly, capping at 20 repeated uses (not sure of the exact multiplier). Finally, the Defense Curl/Rollout combo is when Defense Curl is used, followed by Rollout the turn after, which doubles Rollout's power.

So yeah, Shuckle = Rape. Also, I'm well aware the scenario listed above is practically impossible. I just thought it'd be a nice little chunk of information.

Info gotten from Bulbapedia before you think I actually went and researched ALL of this on my own.

I've always wanted to test a scenario similar to this, but it's just not really feasible. I'm curious though - if you baton passed a defence-boosting move to Shuckle, and then it used Power Trick, does that double its Attack, or does the boost remain with defence?

Anyway, the only way I could really see the whole Power Trick scenario working spectacularly well is basically in a Double Battle, with some really bulky Pokemon continuously using Follow Me, while Shuckle sets up this stuff (besides the Ability Boost of course).

It'd probably transfer over to Attack, but I could be wrong.

Or have your friend help you set it up. I don't think even 5 bulky Follow Me Pokemon can live long enough for Shuckle to set up fully, since it has to use Rollout 20 times for the Metronome boost to be at its maximum.

On an unrelated note, I got the Silver Print for the Battle Castle, hooray. Aiming for the other 4, even though I probably won't be getting the Factory one. I get the worst luck in there...

This is the biggest issue with your team that I can see. There are numerous smaller problems, but they're not as large. Anyway, DON'T teach it Razor Wind. Razor Wind is a shit move, you might as well use Scratch twice. Strength, or better yet, Return, is a much better choice if you want a Normal type move. (Razor Wind is still, normal, right? The last time I came across it was in the RBY generation).

Also use Waterfall and Ice Punch.
And for Magnezone, don't waste two moves on Lock On+Zap Canon. Two Thunderbolts would out damage it.

Stone Edge or Ice Punch?

I'd probably get rid of Stone Edge. Ice Punch covers flying types, as well as Ground types which you might have an issue with. Stone Edge covers Flyers, ice and Bug types, which are basically already covered by Ice Punch.

I had to retry the damn place 4 times before winning even one streak, the others I got massacred during the first match by bad matchups. Even then, it continuously threw Attract, Confusion, Paralysis, etc. at me until the 7 battles were over. Except on the last round I did get a flinch, critical, and Freeze all in a row, which was fun I guess. I'll be lucky enough to get another streak down, let alone the print.

...odd thing is, the Battle Pike in Emerald was my best facility. Oh the irony.
