problem with alpha tweening

ok,im using a graphix symbol,it's a text baloon,im trying to make it appear from 0% alpha (invisible) to 100% alpha(solid)here what im doing,tell me what im doing wrong plz

1: frame one > take 'text bubble' symbol and put it into the layer 4

2: a put the alpha to 0% with the black arrow tool and the bothom menu

3: i drag to frame 12(12fps) and add a key frame

4: on frame 12,i make the 'text bubble' solid by making it alpha 100%

5: i go on frame 2-11 and i select shape tween in bothom menu

6:im freaking out for the 1,000,000 time,the line is not solid(tween not working)

Use a motion tween, not a shape tween. :-)

i just tried for the 1,000,001 time and clicked on motion by mistake,it worker...i feel stupid

P.S.: what shape tween is normaly used for,it seem motion do everything :/

This is by far my favorite reaction to someone giving their time to help another. The old "I figured it out just as you told me, honestly". Really makes it feel worthwhile to even contribute around here.

Shape tween is used to make stuff morph, like if you have a circle and want it to become a square. You can't use it with symbols only non-symbol graphics, and it's pretty hard to pull off and look decent. Check flash help to learn all about it. :)
