On note, Tom. This isn't the first time I've heard of this happening, either. Apparantly, a while ago, people were recieving e-mails from 'you' asking if they wanted to be BBS mods. All they had to do was send their username and password. Dodgy dealings, indeed.

Yeah that was a joke to make thosee people look stupid. By having them post on the general board. I say if you believe it then your account should be given away.

I know who it is. :)

It's someone I talk to on AIM. I didn't think he would acctually do it lol. It's a virus, but it's not harmful to your pc. It's harmful to a website called channelone.com. His aim is Evil programs if anyone wants to know.

wow, people sometimes are crazy and weird. They must somehow really hate NG and want to do something with it. As I might have heard past incidents concerning NG. I don't think this is consider a big one. People just keeps trying, and there are different types of people out there. That's life.

I've actually seen threads on the forums before about people getting fake e-mails and IMs (through AIM) from a person pretending to be you before. Very sad that anyone would do that. :'(

My fucking god! People, this site hasn't been hacked. It is a simple E-Mail spoofer. This can easily be done in the command prompt. No hacking programs, not HTML, none of that. Just simple telnet-ing and the command prompt.

Tom, you should tell people how to check e-mail headers so that nobody would be tricked.

I got one of those. iI read this post before openning it, however.

Email spoofing is nothing. Suing someone for it is like suing someone for socking you in the face.
Yes, spoofed emails do get sent. It is your responsibility not to click every damned file that you get. Shit, I've spoofed emails, but not for such pusposes.

Just ignore attachements from unknown senders, duh, 'specially admins of sites, because you cannot be sure you know them or they know you.
