I received quite a few messages to upload more of my music to the audio portal.
I hope more people upload their audio as well and that this increases the usage of the community's music within the submissions on the portal.
If you would like to create a music video to Endless Handbag akak the old NG front page theme... go for it!
Enjoy!

If I didn't have too many projects on my hands, I'd take that on.

I'm not adding anything else to the AP until the voting system is made fairer, and users have their accounts deleted for mass-voting zeroes to push their own music further up the ranks.

Well I'll be, that's a kick in the teeth. I always enjoyed your audio, Denvish, and I find this new development shocking in its entirity. Boo.

I visit the AP on occasion, and one of the things I made note of was the apparant lack of security against this type of thing. Maybe the voting there should only allow one vote per IP, ever. I don't know, but it would be great to see something done.

We are working on revamping the system as well as adding more genres to the list such as trip hop, spy, etc.

How about some acoustic categories? Half of my stuff ends up in along with the 3000 other 'Miscellaneous' entries because it isn't bluegrass or jazz. I've mentioned it to James... I shall be a trifle annoyed if there are even more electronic categories and still no folk/acoustic sections.

A very good reason to not submit it now. Do you know when the new system will be done, btw?

Perfecto!
Folk can be one and acoustic can be another!

I am not certain when we will have it ready, however I do not believe we should be so concerned about the scores but to add music to the site for flash authors to implement within their flicks and games.
Scores come and go and at the end of the day the score is just a number ;)

That is true. But it is also very understandable the audio author's want a fair score. They've worked hard for it.

Hmm, not so sure about that, Shok. Because a score tell's people if it was a good or not. And the people who've submitted it would like to see a fair score, for their work. :)

If scores were an indicator of something being good than Miss Spears and Backstreet Boyz would be the best music ever. That is fudged that same way as the false voting system...
Good music is good music. I Will be happy when the voting system here is fixed, however I do not believe that it means we should stop submitting just to get a number. Often times, the reviews and the case of your audio being used in a submission is the true reward.

But that is how the system works here on Newgrounds. The audio authors work hard for their work, so they want a fair score. And atleast a decent score.
Wich I can understand. Because they spend quite some time and effort in it.

That is true. But I think Denvish has a point, because aslong the new system isn't still here, there are still people that will vote 0 for fun. And that is giving him an un-fair score.
But you're right, if it is used for Flash entries, then that's quite an honor. :)

That was the point of having the audio portal in the first place.
Believe me... I do not want low scores, however, having high scores and my music not heard means less than having low scores but many people using the music or even just a few good comments :)

True. But like I said before, most of the audio author's just want a fair score, they deserve. And I'm also quite sure they appreciate it if their work is being used for Flash entries.
And I'm not saying you don't have a good point, not at all. But it's just the best if the audio submissions get the score they deserve, and wich is fair.

As i said to you over IM earlier... there will be a new system that will be a thumbs up vote and people will be more voting for the genres as in jazz, acoustic, spy, beats, etc.
This should redirect the focus that we want to have an arsenal of audio that may be used within flash for NG :)
Everyone should feel proud of their work and hopefully this will show by reviews and a thumbs up method. ;)

I think you already have. The audio portal is pretty big. And lot's of songs are being used for Flash movies. And like you also said, that's why the audio portal has been designed for. To provide the Flash author's music for their entries they submit to the portal.

The quality of the Audio in the portal has gone way up. Less "Gun Noises" and farts making it through. I guess farts would be the stick figures of the Audio portal.
Fart Slayer
