I waste enough time review modding already. And you WANT to be one, right? No thank you to that "are you sure" popup warning. Having to click a button or hit enter everytime I hit the abusive button in a review listing would be a pain in the ass. I already have to hit back with my keyboard or mouse after doing it (because it's now javascript instead of an actual URL like it used to be... the old way, we could just shift-click (in IE) or ctrl-click (in Firefox) to mark the review abusive in a NEW window or tab, and we could keep on browsing the same reviewing listing (whether by author or by movie) without having to return to that page. The new way already sucks and is slower. We don't need it slowed even further. ;_;
You're right! I was mostly thinking about how many times I clicked on the wrong friggin' review. I forgot about how the browser brings you to a different page. That is annoying and prevents me from looking at them all when I'm reading them and it often causes me to click on the wrong review in the first place. >:(
Maybe if there is a way to go back and changed the review I flagged back to the way it was before that would be good. I just hate when I accidently mark a nice review.
You are a review mod? Can you explain to me, why when ever I give a review to say something that has been flagged 4 times negatively and I mark it positively it adds another negative point along with the positive? That doesn't make sense to me.
Also yeah i would like to be a review mod but I don't know if Wade will ever respond to my questions. :(
hey can you guys add a button to mark a REPLY to a review as abusive? plenty of times people have maliciously replied to my trying-to-be-helpful review, and I can't flag it as abusive because that would be flagging my own review as abusive...

Talk about abusive!<snip>...
IOW, if you're tiring of the homophobic bullshit some authors are giving you, perhaps toning down the publicity you're giving to your sexuality... might be the best choice. In a perfect world I wouldn't even have to recommend that as this would be a non-issue. But this isn't a perfect world, and NG reflects that, sadly.
First off, thanks for responding. As a very new person around here, I have no idea how the mod thing is set up, and I really haven't even looked at the BBS. In any case, as to the above, I was really referring to the content of flashes more than anything directed at me.
The real thing is that as soon as I am ok with my work and start posting it, this problem is going to heat up for me (since people WILL have a grasp of my orientation in many cases). So I would like to get as comfortable with the abuse policy in regard to this kind of stuff as I can.
Also, I found your comment to keep my orientation more private pretty offensive. While I don't go out of my way to yell I'M GAY in anyone's face, when I start putting my work out there, people are going to understand I'm gay in some cases. Your answer to this is that I not make any flash that is too overt? Do you consider how many overt heterosexual references I hear every day that you don't even notice because it's "normal" to you? Hopefully you'll reconsider this way of thinking about this subject.
Anyway, I do appreciate your response, and keep in mind that I'm just trying to figure out how to interact here as serendipitously as possible, and I have infinitely better things to do than spend my time bellowing GAY RIGHT ON NG NOW or other such bullhonkery.
What happens when you get those lovely reviews that don't have anything at all to do with your game?

These people don't even bother to rate the categories! The game was violent, why does it get a 0? How does a game get 0 for interactivity?
Some people are so hurtful. :'(
Yes, unbanned!!!
thankyou waid, i want your babies.
Argh... some of my old reviews are still shit, though.
WARNING: DO NOT CALL ILL WILL PRESS A HYPOCRATE.
This is an abusive review. Ill Will Press's points are apparently valid and make perfect sense. To disagree with them or to prove them contradictory to previous points that he made are wrong and deserve a review deletion. Guidelines for posting reviews: ill will press is always right. Proving him wrong is an abusive review.
Well, thank god.I got myself banned while messing around.I'm not going to make that mistake again!

I'm pretty sure that there is a significant difference between "Abuse" and "Criticism".
Abuse shows no pointers or advice but insults and hate against the authour, whereas Criticism is made with the intent to help others through advice.

We should create an underground society.
I was wondering how many abusive marks you need to level up, so that we could at least keep track ourselves?
A friend in need is a friend indeed, but a friend with weed is better.

An underground society of good reviewers, or one which exists to mark abusive reviews one after another?

Asides from the occasional users and administrators I mean.

Thank you. (*Nods*)
I tend to leave decent reviews.
I'm just glad that the fulps are getting around to cleaning up the crappy flash and stupid reviews. It seems like people who leave really obscene reviews should have parental controls on their computer.
Anyone else want to see the fulps do the numa numa dance?!
You should be able to delete your own reviews.... and once you do that.. you cant review that movie again..so people can't repeativly review a movie.. And I'm sure i would like to get rid of a few of my reviews if i had the chance..=P

I have also set all the review bans to be lifted, if it doesn't crash NG trying to lift the bans on all 1,587 accounts. Yeah, that's a lot of people writing a lot of nasty reviews. Hopefully they have learned from their mistakes and will submit proper reviews in the future.
Users who help mark abusive reviews as abusive will be rewarded with positive whistle points which can increase your whistle level.
you know what you should do is people who leave abousive reviews should just be banned from reviewing ever again. First remove all of their reviews, then ban their reviewing priveledges.
Sometimes I get worried if I see an abusive review, but no one else has marked it, so I worry about being the only one to call attention to it (I don't want to lose whistle points and all, I finally got up to a silver). But yeah, good job, Wade, with all the clean-up and un-banning.
if someone simply says "your movie sucks" is that an abusive review?

#2 Do not post TONS and TONS of crappy reviews just to get high in the rankings. If we catch someone doing this we will delete all their reviews- wouldn't that be a pain in the ass? Take your time and write a sincere review for every movie you wish to critique. Make sure your review is relative to the submission. Reviews that are found to offer no benefit to the author maybe deleted.
Meaning take your time to explain why "it sucks."

I seriously doubt this will effect your whistle points negatively. Judge honestly and read the review guidelines if your not sure.
