4.09 / 5.00 15,161 ViewsI am putting a collection of videos from my mobile phone into a flash with menu and everything. There are 12 frames (count 'em), 44 symbols and NO sound, each video clip (10 of them) is about 5 seconds long each and about 50kb of disc space.
The problem is, the file size (of the .FLA) is 5,400kb... which is way higher than I expected. I expected it to be about 1,000 at the most, I haven't even put the sound in yet!
Any ideas on how I can lower the file size by an incredible amount? Any suggestions welcome!
Sup, bitches :)
when you put the music/sound lower the quality a bit, or cut off the parts you dont need, 5 megabytes isent that big.

Yeah, but I haven't put sound in yet. I'm no n00b, I know how to change music quality and how important it is for a movies filesize!
5 megabytes is the file size limit for NewGrounds. the file size limit for Imageshack (where I wanted to put this at first) is somewhere between 1000-1300 kb.
Please don't pretend you know what you are talking about urname, you are still a n00b so let people dis you and walk all over you for a bit, OK?!

All I can think of is breaking it into two or more different files...
I've never done anything with video before but there might be a way to compress it further before you import it... some program or other..?
This sig is 100% effective protection from all hexes, curses, evil spirits and bad karma. Guaranteed.

You said .FLA, when you submit it to NG you export the file as a .SWF (File > Export). Assuming you stream and compress the sound and other stuff, it will be a lot less once you export it.

damnit, i was gonna tell him, the swf file is smaller than the actually fla, ive have a 50,000kb .FLA and the .SWF was only 5, 200kb
and a .fla of mine is 81.500 mb while the .swf is 1.35 mb!!! omfg XD
