ROFL oh that bedn...
I like the idea of the new moderator tools, and yep, it sure would keep the main stream on constant bullshit"we" put on Newgrounds everyday. I hope everything works out, and i hope the new Audio ortal is almost done :D
Ya it does, newgrounds is a cool place and its always great to see it improve, nice work wade indeed...

Nice to hear that the administrative stuff are getting clean out. The clean out might have stopped now, but it's still good to hear that review bans are getting lifted and flagged flashes have been checked. I reviewed a flash that got flagged and that was in late December. Thanks for the clean out Wade.

The Academy was deleted because they actually broke a rule by emailing an admin complaining about a flagged flash that they felt shouldnt have been flagged, but the admin(s) decided that the flash shouldve been flagged, and deleted the account.
There was one flagged Daily Toon, but I didnt argue it... which is why I still have the account and they dont.

I remember a time, before i stumbled across Newgrounds, the word "review" meant things like:
Title: Three thumbs up!
Body: This flash cartoon is really good, the graphics are good, the storyline is excellent, and sound is superb! I recomment everyone who likes [subject] watch this movie!
*sigh*
compare that to this standard, everyday NewGrounds "review"...
Title: OMGWTFWOOOOOOOOO
Body: OMG w0000t [author] YOU ROCK!!! THAT FLASH WAS AMAZING! VOTED 5! Don't listen to [previous reviewer] heS GAYyyyYy and pathetic you ROCK AMN i especially love the part where he goes "[funny catchphrase]"!!!!
It just isn't a review! Its a comment. And putting other users into reviews is just.... there isn't a word for it. Its unneccisary. I don't read the reviews until i've watched the flash, because there's always at least one who gives something away in the top review, taking away the magic of surprise. So, its not abusive.. but come on, many people must find this annoying?

At 3/9/05 01:57 PM, WadeFulp wrote: Also I will be lifting all of the review bans this week. I still have a few thousand abusive reviews to clear out. PLEASE read the review guidelines before you submit a review to Newgrounds. It only takes one bad review to get you banned and under our current system you may be banned for several months. We are trying to reduce ban times and eventually we will have a much better system to deal with reviews and banned reviewers.
how about bringing up a new text box
when you select the abusive button
that reminds people about the specific
rules, and if they want to still continue,
they can select yes. that way, it could
remind people about whats abusive
and whats not and also stops accidental
clicks too. i know i might of accidentally
clicked the abusive button 2 or 3 times
when i meant no...the buttons are just too
close together...just a suggestion...doesnt
need to be considered :P

thats a pity that the event isnt free
ohwell i guess that somtimes life isnt fair but thats just stpid that some people are spamming stuff on newgrounds that isnt their own website and ive never tried getting turd of the week or underdog heck i dont even know how to make flash at all so im not a threat for loss of my acount for any of those . and i get another chance to prove that i wont write abusive reviews anymore (thankyou) and its also a good thing that newgrounds is getting rid of flash marked for administrive review (i was getting tired of those)and im also glad that newgrounds is doing all this maintnence to the site

That's one of the most stupid and moronic things I've ever heard... Dude, Newgrounds is Newgrounds BECAUSE of the funny and useless 2.00 and lower movies :) Newgrounds would be a stupid place for pro's if you would ban all the amateur movies :( We all gotte start somewhere ya know!
And hey, you don't even have movies and/or audio uploaded, so silence, ya foooooh!

I am so glad to hear all of this. I came looking for info as I just blew the whistle for the first tmie, though I was nervous doing it, for not understanding all the rules. I see so much crap here, with people adding flash and saying 'I know it sucks, so go ahead and blam me' and thinking this just isn't right, and why are they wasting space, etc. I have always wanted to blow the whistle on these people in hopes that if they keep getting reported, they may get banned and help clear up the site, but didn't know if this was right or not.
The one I blew the whistle on, his last 10 or so submissions I've seen are just so offensive to me, with very graphic gay sex, and when I complained to my son about it, he told me to blow the whistle next time.
When I was reading this, I see his name mentioned here by someone else so obviously I'm not the only one offended by his crap.
I just don't want to be accused of reporting unfairly. Still getting the hang of this place.
