Usually because some Canadians like to visit warm places when they vacation in the winter time. But I would have to say mainly cuz it is fairly cheap to go to the states for vay-k. Shit in Vegas you get bus ride down and back, hotel for 2-3 nights, all for like $200 Ca, great deal.
And I'm sure you know the old expression, "great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there". Holds true for USA aswell.

About that I was just in the northern end of the states in Idaho and Washington and it was colder and I saw more snow in the states then where I live.

you act like invasion should be the number one solution when you have a problem with a neighbouring country. we canadians don't invade countries and make decisions for them like the US. we aren't as hostile as some americans. i don't have anything against the US, it's just that some amaricans say some really stupid things sometimes.

If you would like to know the reason why Canada hates the US, its for the following reasons.

1) Bush. We just don't like him and think that he has the IQ of a bag of hammers if he will spend millions of dollars on a limo, spend 600 billion dollars on invading Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, etc, but will only donate 1.5 million to tsunami relief.

2) All the bad-mouthing USA is constantly saying about us "It's their fault, they started the war." "Alberta? What is that? Some sort of state in Canada?" "Do you guys even have cable in Canada?"

The proportion of our tsunami relief fund to our gpa is the highest out of any other country in the world's. . . . MEasly? look in the mirror.

There are many people in Canada who are angry at Americans for re-electing president bush. This anger is largely a result of the media's hatred of bush. If Canada disagrees with our foreign policy, that is fine, but they should at least appreciate what we do for them (govt included). First, Most Canadian jobs result from the strength of the American Economy. Second, America is largely the muscle for the entire western hemisphere, and provides military protection for our entire region. Third, Americans dump millions of american dollars into the canadian economy from tourism. If America turned into ultra leftwing socialist nation that Canada and the rest of the world seem to want, we would collapse as a nation. After all, if every American city made heroin free to addicts, (ahem...) our economy would be owned.

My main problems with the U.S. as it stands now are
1.George Bush
and 2. Our absurd amount of jobs exported overseas (Korea, Japan, Mexico)

I don't hate those countries, but my family has worked for American car companies for a long time, and needless to say, job security here ain't what it used to be.

And as far as Bush, he may not be a complete idiot, but no child left behind, followed by education budget cuts, and plus the Iraq war, which is questionable, at best, I can understand why some countries hate us.

First of all, the military's cost is NOT included in our aid pledge. It is included in the foreign aid and development budget as a whole. But aside from that, How many aircraft carriers and heavy lift helicopters does your dart team have, how many troops were included? How much food is being delivered through them?

Also, comparing GDPs are completely irrellevant. how much help does norways 92% (no source?) equal. It is bulk money that counts, not percents. If I make 500$ a week, and donate all five hundred, that is a 100% GDP donation. If I make 100000$ and give 1% then 1000$ goes to charity. Which will help more?
