I play a lvl 80 Night Elf Death Knight and a lvl 55 Gnome Warlock
I have all three expansions...

i have an 80 warrior (prot/arms) and a mutilate rogue - my rogue can do 9k dps on 25man patchwerk.
however my warrior is only in naxx10/25 gear ...my rogue participated in the realm first for os10 and 25 3 drakes - naxx10 and 25 aswell as ulduar 10 and 25 hardmode

Level 80 paladin, deathknight, and rogue, almost level 80 hunter.

Heh... I just quit WoW. Amazingly fun game. I put a lot of time and money into it. Probably the most fun 4 years of my life. :D

My brother downloaded the trial version of WoW about a week ago and he won't stop playing it. About 10 minutes ago, he came back from gamestop with The Wrath of the Lich King, and I thought, "fuck, i'm never gonna get some computer time now.."

I played a little when he first signed up for the trial, and I honestly just don't see what is the appeal with this game. I'm a night elf (with the character I created for myself) and I played in Shattered Halls. All I did was kill a few boars and I got pretty bored. Also, I don't like that it takes like 3 seconds before you can attack again.

So, what is the appeal with it? How do you complete quests when you don't know where anything is in the game? What makes this game different than other RPG games out there?

The idea is that you play the game longer than it takes to kill a few boars. Its really not for someone who hasnt already set their heart on owning and playing it. Plus, no doubt after what you said in you said first, you went in with a very negative mind set, so chances are you wouldnt like it anyway.

The thing is I'm willing to give it a chance if someone explains to me why it's a great game.

That's one of the concepts of it, to explore and find out where everything is.

that shouldn't drive you to play the game. if you want my opinion, give it a week, explore, go on the website and look at guides, watch gameplay footage (PvP, PvE, etc.) - get a feel of what the game is like. World of Warcraft isn't a pick-up and go game, you can't just learn everything in a few hours.

I suggest reading my previous blog post on World of Warcraft (there's alot of negativity, but don't let that put you off. it might give you some insight.)

Well, first of all it has some of the most diverse equipments in any MMORPG, plus there are a ton of different people playing. Once you get to like level ten or so and start beginning to know your way around the maps and begin to see the instances, the game speeds up and becomes quite a bit more enjoyable. The ability for so many different combinations of toons is fun too.

Got to 80 on my Retadin a couple weeks ago and my guild tried Naxxramas 10man but we wiped before we got to KT but we beat arachnid and construct quarter were still learning and thats all that matters so what did everyone else do lately?

Played since classic; human retribution paladin from 10 to 78. Got a tad bored with ret because it's OP right now, and I'd mostly be doing PvP on him.

My main is an 80 Tauren Elemental shaman, offspec Resto (though I rarely heal). My other alt is an 80 tauren death knight, Talaheo; Blood DPS as primary, Blood tank as offspec. I end up tanking more than I DPS. The Hordes are on Feathermoon, PvE RP. The human is on Malfurion, PvE.

Just have Yogg-Saron left on 25 man, and Mimiron, GV and Yogg on 10 man.

In other news, I'm going to Blizzcon.

Im thinking of getting into an MMORPG, any reccomendations aside from WoW?

does somebody know where the authentication key is located for the original 5-disk retail version of WoW? looking up on the website it tells me the code is on the cardboard sleeve that holds my 5 cd's. but it's not there. i checked on the front, back, inside. it's nowhere to be found. what gives?

I don´t see the point of playing any mmorpg but WoW, the costs are around the same, and WoW is the most expansive.

WoW is pretty much the most refined MMO out on the market at the moment. The only real competitor is EVE Online which is an entirely different kind of game for an MMO. It's one solid game world, one server, anything goes. It's pretty complex however and it's fraught with a lot of morally questionable tactics by the playerbase.
