Well, I couldn't see one, and I can't search for it given the minimum search length rule.

Well, I thought it was a shame that I couldn't see an active Rap crew, judging by how popular it is. So, I am forming this.

I don't feel I have enough Rap CD's. My CD's you ask ?

Beastie Boys - An Open Letter To NYC
Beastie Boys - An Open Letter To NYC Enhanced CD
Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty
De La Soul - 3 Feet High And Rising (reissue with bonus CD!)
The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy - Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury
Eminem - Just Lose It
N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton (with bonus tracks!)
Outkast - Roses

I belive there is also some rappers on the 'Chef Aid: The South Park Album' CD.

I got a loan of:

DMX - Grand Champ
Jay-Z - Blueprint
Lloyd Banks - The Hunger For More
Nas - God's Son
N.W.A. - The N.W.A. Legacy 3
The Notorious B.I.G. - Born Again
The Notorious B.I.G. - Life After Death

My favourite Rap song ? Well, there are so many different styles, but at the moment, I love 'Rain Man' by Eminem, with it's brilliant attack upon censorship.

First Rap song I ever heard ? 'Gangster's Paradise' but I forget who did it.

Rules and guidelines are needed. I don't see any.

I'm not very keen on order, so I shall have to keep it to a bare minimum.

1) Don't flame each other.
2) Be open about other people's taste. I don't want to see any hatred going down just because someone doesn't like the East coast or the West coast. This doesn't mean you have to like their music, just don' say they suck.

Is that OK ?

Much <3 back.

And yes, it's good.

Excellent.

On a related note, I shall have to get a loan of both Fabolous albums from my mates, I have heard his 'Bad Guy' song, and it is wonderful. Many people always talk of Rap holding no message, but this does and while I don't believe in good or bad myself, I can't help but be touched by this song.

Yeah. I like everything bar love songs, and at the moment I am going through an Industrial phase, but there needs to be a Rap crew. It is equally as popular as Rock, so I decided to make one.

On a related note, I am broke, so I got to miss Goldie Lookin Chain coming through Glasgow. :'( I suppose I shall have to see them next time. :)

yes, ther was already a rap club. I havent seen it around in a long time, so I'm asuming it died. I was a member in it. Last I checked, it was working on a game for NG then it just went under.

Em has to be my favorit rapper ever. I like 50 aswell, but havent really listed to g unit or Dr. Dre. I also like Ludacris. I like the Bloodhound Gang, but I'm not sure if they're rap or rock.

In my oppinion, you cant like rap without liking atleast a little rock. For me, its all in the beat.

I also am fond of his work. He is not only humerous, but he also adresses issues.

I haven't heard much 50 Cent. But he is highly thought of, so I should check him out someday.

Likewise. :'(

or Dr. Dre.

I have heard some of his work. 'What's The Difference' with Eminem has to be my favourite piece of his.

I also like Ludacris.

I believe my friends have mentioned him.

I like the Bloodhound Gang, but I'm not sure if they're rap or rock.

Neither am I. I haven't heard much of them either. :'(

Yeah, all of my friends say it's all about the beat. For me, I can love the beat, but if it is about love or lust, as I can't relate to dancing with a woman, loving a woman or fucking a woman, I get depressed. Many of my Rap loving friends don't actually like Rock, but some do. :)

To me, Its the beat that hooks you. you cant apriciate a good song if the music sounds like shit. I hat that "Drop it like its hot" song by Snoop dog for the fact that the music is a bunch of tongue clicking and some drumming

Right now I am listening to 'An Open Letter To NYC' by The Beastie Boys.

For those of you who haven't heard it, it is a tribute to NYC. with regards to the attacks on the twin towers. The song itself is built upon the guitar riff in The Dead Boys 'Sonic Reducer', the song also features some white noise as a backdrop and opens with some sratching. The song is basically a plea for unity and peace.

To anyone who is wondering their name means Boys Entering Anarchistic States Towards Inner Excellence.

Yeah, the minimalist feel of that song may be artsy, and I do like artsy things when they are rough, but minamilism doesn't really float my boat either.

There were very few black people at my school, and everyone liked Rap. Most of the were posers and recoiled at songs like 'Straight Outta Compton' and 'Fuck Tha Polica' that my mates would put on. :)

Nice to have you aboard. I can remember hearing some Run DMC as a youth and I loved it. I have a copy of Public Enemy's 'Fear Of A Black planet' that my friend gave me, but he has not taken care of the disc, so it wont play for long until it starts slipping. Virtuosoic scratching on that record.

Yea the character search limit makes it hard when you are seraching for rap. You get limited results when you search hip hop.
The crews are so hard to fine basically because I havn't found one that lasted too long

I get along better with the black students in the bad sid of town than I do with the white kids in my side of town and I'm not that far off of being a square which confuses me. any way, I forgot to say that my only cds are Eminem: Encore and a bunch of Goth music a friend gave me that I never listen to. I dont see how people like songs were the lyrics are high pitch shreeks that make no sence unless you look them up some where.

So what do we do in a situation like this, use the old one that has been abandoned or soldier on with this one ?

Ah, that'll be Death Metal, not Goth Rock. I like both of them. Goth Rock is more bleak and moody than agressive. It's stuff like Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie Sioux & The Banshees, Joy Division, The Lords Of The New Church, etc.

Anyway, so that my post is pertaining to the content of this club, I shall have to purchase some DJ Yoda at some point. He has a mix tape of remixes of New Wave music. :O

I dont know, but I couldnt stand it. it was sooooooooooooo annoying to me. My friend would tell me to listen to it and tell him what I think of it. I couldnt undestand it so I made shit up. also, I noticed gothic and industrial music videos have an abundance of nudity, creatures, and mechanical animals. Its like soft core porn!

I heard good things about the yin yang twins try some of there music. I never heard them before.

I say soldier on, you'll atleast be the leader

I coudl not find that one, I eneded up trying google for better results with limited characters.
Rather then send you to one of the short lived crews I found, I'll jsut let this stand. If the topic dies let it. Avoid double posting etc.

I hope its ok if i stop by and post every now and then... Im not a 'hardcore' rap fan but i do like rap...

I doubt anybody has heard of him, but has anyone here heard of Cowboy Troy? If anyone has the Big and Rich cd, near the end of the first track, theres a black cowboy rapper, who's really bad but its really funny...
