What if that person tells you to "fuck off" and turns their music up louder? Oh I get it that's why we need earplugs. You are such a God damn moron.

Just saying so doesn't prove it. Prove the earplugs not being a good solution, and prove your laws not to be fascist, you've failed.

I said it once and I'll say it again. The state has the power to limit freedom based on a compelling interest. For instance, smoking cigarettes in a crowded public setting is outlawed because the state has a compelling interest in maintaining the health of its citizens. Likewise, the state has a compelling interest in keeping people from making more than a reasonable amount of noise in a residential area in order that people can function to the best of their ability in society. The state does not have any interest in allowing you to make as much noise as you want in a neighborhood, in fact, it would be irresponsible of the government to allow you to do so. If you really want to make a bunch of noise, you can, just not in an area that would cause a nuissance (i.e.: a neighborhood where people are trying to sleep).
Think you're pretty clever...

You're going back to the "whole are greater than the one" which I provided proof earlier is fascist. If you want to live in a fascist country, I believe zimbabwae is currently one, so you should go there, where you'll have plenty of "rights" not to be disturbed.

There are plenty of things that annoy me, but I don't write my congressman about them, I either put up or take care of the problem myself.
If you're not a moaner, why the fuck are you still going on? Why can't you put up with the noise restriction laws?
You have still failed to prove the majority supports the law. Or for that matter why the fact that you're too stupid to use earplugs means a law is neccessary. Are they really that hard to find, or home-make for that matter?
Earplugs aren't that effective when it's really loud, because you can feel the vibrations through the air, and through floor/walls, etc. If you dont believe me. try going to school and learning basic science...
:At least if you lose, say 5 hours of sleep you aren't going to be crippled for life.
If you work in a concentration-heavy job, like the machinery operating guy above, you could very well be...

No, I'm going back to the "whole reason we have laws" argument. Last time I checked, there are noise laws that are enforced in the US. If you want to take the case to the Supreme Court to dispute the constitutionality of these laws, then be my guest, but you'd be laughed right out of court. I doubt that you'd even make it to the State Courts.

Well what's wrong with just hating it because of the principle of the matter? If I see a law that I feel is frivilous I'll be against it wether it affects me or not.

That is true when it gets loud enough, I don't find them uncomfortable as to keep me awake though. If it does get too much noisier though it can damage your walls(the damn truth I swear), and that shouldn't be allowed. But at that point it's just noise, it's vandalism.
If you work in a concentration-heavy job, like the machinery operating guy above, you could very well be...
Well I think he's lying about it(and his age) anyway. Usually jobs that require handling heavy machinery require you to be at least 21(though not neccesarily, even the ones that don't, prefer you be 21 or over). I don't think anyone would get that tired and not realise they should call in to work. At least not if they're smart enough that the law allows them to drive a vehical.

I'm 18, I've worked in a packaging/assembly plant for nearly 3 years, and I'm a certified forklift operater. Along with the hazards that come with operating a fork, I also operate 15,000 psi hydraulic bailers, printing presses, and industrial gluers.
Yes, it's a real job.
And you strike me as a 16 year old, at best. What's your real age?

I'd also like to point out that most of us in the real world work jobs where we can only 'call in sick' so many days with pay.
After that, you are not making any money. Hmm. My right to pursue happiness is infringed upon. Not just mine, but anyone disturbed by a noisy neighbor.
As much as you may not want to think so, those of us that don't want noisy neighbors are in the MAJORITY. Majority rules. It's not a 'nuisance to a few' if MOST people feel that way, now is it?
What is frivolous to you, is earth shattering to another. And vice-versa.

The point is there are solutions other than your local legislature.
As much as you may not want to think so, those of us that don't want noisy neighbors are in the MAJORITY. Majority rules. It's not a 'nuisance to a few' if MOST people feel that way, now is it?
No one does, but that doesn't mean they all want a law passed on the matter. I know many who though they get annoyed by it, never call the cops on people for it(though I know many also who do).
What is frivolous to you, is earth shattering to another. And vice-versa.
Yeah, but noise is somehow earth shattering? If someone is that bothered by noise they probably need a psychiatrist. There are people out there who think someone saying "fuck" is earth shattering, or that an unedited boob pop out is earth shattering too. But does that mean the FCC should limit our freedom of speech?

No you were just baselessly repeating yourself, in order for it to be reemphasis you need to bring something new into the discussion, you did not.

A pounding stereo, or partying neighbors makes vibrations that get through earplugs. Try sleeping through the night with your bed slightly shaking to a quarter note beat. earplugs are not the end all-be all that you seem to think they are. What are some other suggestions you have? Moving isn't always an option, nor should it be, especially if you were there first.
Also, what is so frivolous about not being able to call off work, even though I haven't slept all night? I'd like to pay rent, but I'd also like to do a good job at work, so I can KEEP my job, so I can continue to pay the rent.

The only one being dumb here is you for acting like you're right when you're just repeating yourself. Hell if you can't understand when someone tells you you're only repeating yourself and not reemphasising and shows you the difference, you really shouldn't call other people dumb.
It's real simple, bring something new, or you're just repeating yourself. I can't dumb that down anymore.

Well I geuss if you post only to dumb down a point for somebody it is still repeating yourself, in any case it's aparent you still don't get it because if you did you'd either demonstrate your point with new info or just not post if you can't, which, it's likely you can't.

Either deal with it or don't live in a "free" country. Shit hate speech is legal, and I find it certainly more harmful than loud noise. You're supposed to put up with annoyances if you want to live free, not outlaw them. If you can't you shouldn't live in a "free" country.
