One asks me. Of course you can join, we all enjoy talking about the finer things of English life. By the by, one's croquet lawn is recieving the final touches in time for the new season to begin some time next week. Any of you chaps fancy a game?

Well nothing much, old boy. One joined the local village cricket team and todays game was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch caused by some amazing thunderstorms at about 0200 this very morning.

One was most disapointed.

Any one heard of this new form of twinnings their on about?

Yes, one has heard about the new Twinings, for drinking all the time. However, one shall be sticking to one's PG Tips, as one finds it a marvellous brew.

Postcard too expensive, old boy?

One has voted, allowing me to whinge and whine about the government for the next 4-5 years. After all, I've made my choice, let's see if everyone else agrees, shall we?

I think it's good that we have a Labour Government, albeit with a reduced majority. The only other option would be for a Tory government, and looking at how much they buggered up the country's infastructure over their last tenure, we can't really go back to that.

This new Government will be hard pushed to abuse the power like it did during the last 8 years. The majority is hardly anything (66 was the BBC's latest prediction) and this is easier to overcome, with only a few rebel Labour MPs to swing the vote.

Of course, the main problem is that the options during votes about new legislation are Labour's proposal, or Tory's amendment, which is usually shite.

I suppose but one was hoping that a hung parliament might happen. Sadly it hasn't happened and probably never will.

Some good has come of it then. Isn't 66 the majority the exit poll predicted though?

There is only one concern I ahve about this election the BNP did well in a number of seats and sadly they did fairly well in the constituency I live in. there shar of the vote went up by about 9% I believe and that's a result that seems to have been happening all over the UK where the BNP is concerned. What's even mroe concerning is that Nick whats his face the leader of the BNP got over 4000 votes in his consituency I fear that the BNP could get thier first ever MP in the next election if they can duplicate this success again.

Oh and Yay for the lib dems. Last I heard they had gained 11 seats.

I'm not overstruck on hung parliments. They don't tend to work, because of in-fighting during the coalition. They just don't work. (Look back to the last Hung parliment was Harold Wilson's government in the 1970s and look what happened then. They messed up the country and then let in Thatcher.)

No, the exit polls predicted that a range of results would happen, from a Tory win, to a Labour landslide.

I'm glad that we have reigned Tony Blair in. We have given him another chance to continue with his (largely) good work, but also told him not to get carried away. Plus, he's declared he will not go to the next election as PM. Great news.

I heard about that, but if you will not use the trades descriptions act, to force them to change their name to the British Nazi Party, then you are going to get idiots voting for them.

That is good news. Charles Kennedy is talking about 3 party politcs, this time around. I don't think they have got there yet, but they are making progress.

Game over:

Cookley (my team) 166-2 (36 overs) I didn't bat and had a nice time, sitting in the score box, waiting for the rain to die down and the sun to come out.

Moat Farm 104 all out (28.2 overs) We bowled an fielded really well today, with a few key stops from me being the real bright point of my day and some great all-round performances from the rest of the team summed up a really well fought win.

Our first of the season, may there be many more like it.

Wasn't aware of that actually. And if it resulted in Thatcher getting into power then it must have been bad.

MAkes toom for Mr Brown then. I can't think of anyone else who is going to challenge him for leadership can you?

Indeed though i must admit it was rather funny listening to gthe elction broadcast on raido four at 3 am and hearing the results for somewhere and hearing the BNP getting under a hunfred votes and then about 5 people cheering loudly then shutting up rather quickly :-)

That is good news. Charles Kennedy is talking about 3 party politcs, this time around. I don't think they have got there yet, but they are making progress.

They aren't there quite yet but if they can continue at this rate they might be able to pull off soemthign within the next few electiosn sadly I don't thinK Charles Kennedy will ever get to be PM but he will probably go down as being the man who bought the Lib dems up to the main level.

I remember bits of the Thatcher Regime. it wasn't pleasant, and I want to believe those days are behind us.

Blunkett, Clarke, Robin Cook, Peter Mandelson. The list goes on. (Brown ought to win though)

Almost as good as a solo hand clap.

I'd rather they were taking seats off the Tories than off Labour. Then they would be able to get into second place.

At last the general election is over. One can now leaves ones house without being attacked by tories asking for ones vote.
Now all we need is for Blair to get up and leave so Brown can take over, then maybe we will stop getting dragged into wars by that fool Bush.
Anyway everyone knows that the only point to voting is so that you can complain about whats going on later.

All spam posts have been deleted. I want to thank Coop83, Manic, and the others for ignoring all of it, as is appropriate.

QF, I know you didn't like the old one. That doesn't give you the right to be a meddling twat in this one. Your petty flame baiting doesn't seem to be working. So when you get back, don't bother posting in here again. Be a cockgobbler on RG.

Lethal, same goes for you. Posting in here just makes you look like a QF toady. Sorry, I call it as I see 'em.

Sorry to go off track for a moment chaps but one has a question to ask. Does anyone here think Charlotte Church is good looking or want to hear about her life?
One has grown tired of seeing that pug ugly bitch in ones paper, if the Tea party ever goes up for the vote one wants to remove from the public eye when we get in.

One didn't even know she was a girl. She looks so repuslive, that she may even be classed as sub-human (what with the sheep genes in her)

That's a bit extreme, old boy. Just don't look at her. Do a google search for Rachel Stevens or Kelly Brook, to calm yourself down, there's a good chap.

Indeed we should. I will quite happily bestow on them the order of thebuttered scone which is given only to those who show bravery in the face danger against insurmountable odds and are later for elevenses. Ones great great great great great great great grandfather was the 73rd duke of Dudley and as one is his direct descendant i have a box full of the damned medals and nothing to do with them.

One thinks we should create A Very English medal in memory of this topics forefather and the Newgrounds user who uphold its honourable past.
One has to say the order of the buttered scone sounds like something the staff at a tea shop or butler would have to deal. After all a scone is for eating not wearing.

Its named afetr a scone because the medal is shaped like scone and ones ancestor was very into cooking he made a fresh batch of socnes every day with his bare hands. One must say though the thought of manual labour like that is ratehr scary. why he didn't just get the cook to do it one will never know.

Duely noted old boy. I must say though Iv'e never heard of lady grey tea before. A nic cup of Tetley suit sme just fine so i tend not to try other varieties much unless thye ar eon special offer that is.
