Yes, you may. It's actually "may I join", but I'll let you off this time. Grammar is very serious business :P

Not a good sign really :P

Rule 4 - never show a girl your willy before the end of the third date... Unless she drags you to bed - you can be seen as over eager.

Fair enough - we drove about 150 miles to get there :P

The lights used to be good but when you see them all the time it ain't so good. The trams at night are awesome though. One of them is a rocketship thing :O

We saw the train and two boats, but no rocket ship thing. Still, we did have a good time and when I got dragged down to the beach at about 9pm by the Mrs, I had some time to do some advertising by torchlight:

Drove through the lights last night after gymnastics. The whole place now just looks like a town with some lightbulbs on it. And it was dead nearly.

Shame

At the weekend, it was packed. Don't forget, it's the end of the season, so traders don't try so hard and some even close down for parts of the 'off season'

At least the new engineering works are taking the waste water (surface / rainwater) away from the beaches and getting it treated, before draining it back into the sea.

The project they've got going on the sea front is really something else, so at least they're taking this bad reputation seriously.

There's a project going on?! It will still be a shithole, regardless of how much money they waste.

It's my hometown I know but it's true, glad I left when I did.

Speaking of wasting money, have you seen that awful thing that runs down that street near Winter Gardens? Across from Abingdon Market.

It's my hometown I know but it's true, glad I left when I did.

The fact it's a street hole is part of Blackpool's charm.

I havn't. What is it? A monstrosity no doubt. Also, those streetlamps outside M&S or wherever look a bit suspicious.

It's huge wavy thing with moving lights on it (I think they move) and it looks terrible; so out of place.

Good Eveningtide, Fellow Britains!
Please allow me to express the utmost joy in finding this delightful "English Gentlemen's Club".
Also, would you allow for one to join, being of the British Standard myself?

I eagerly await your responses, good Sirs and Madams.

I might be spending christmas on a 100-foot yacht this year with my friend's family & my girlfriend. Never done anything like that for christmas before (usually the same standard family occasion), so I think it'd be really cool to do something a bit different.

Can't believe how fast this year has gone :(

While one wouldn't necessarily call oneself British - The Scots and Welsh want to leave, that's up to them, but we're keeping the money to get out of Europe, thanks. - You're very welcome in here.

Would if I could, but staying up ti watch World Series baseball comes at a hefty price and that's the last holiday for 2009, baring Xmas shopping, of course.

Different, I'll admit - I can't imagine how you'll deal with seasickness while having the traditional Xmas lunch though ;)

Don't belittle the members, or else I shall have to ask you to leave. I for one talk like that in here, as do others of the establishment.

Anyway, talking of poking fun at the toffs, let's all have a jab at David Cameron. While some might argue that it's his election to lose, I personally feel that he's having a pretty good go at losing, with the policies that he's trying so desperately to get the swing voters to vote for him.

I don't have to worry about the three main parties, personally, as I can vote for "Health Concern" to keep our independent MP in the hot seat.

Although I harbour a deep hatred for Cameron, mainly along the lines of 'all style, no substance', I do think in principle, cutting services is the right thing to do, given the state of the balance of payments.

I really don't think he will lose the election. People just seem to be tired of Labour.

Personally, I'm probably going to vote Lib Dem. Despite their mad policies with regards to decentralisation, Vince Cable is probably one of the few politicians I actually trust in running the economy. George Osborne, really is a joke.

No, people tend to laugh at jokes. I think that the Lib Dems can't mount much of a challenge and it seems that the sway voters will be flocking to the polls wearing blue. A shame, really, as I've lived more than half my life under Tory control and 12 years under Labour - I wouldn't mind the Lib Dems having a crack, they can't mess the country up any more, surely.

I never knew you smoked. Cups of tea, I can tolerate. My new fitness regime is taking me one hell of a lot of places - 2.5 miles on a Tuesday night, to be precise. I just keep pushing with my best friend to bring that time down and slowly, it does.

Might get the old bike out tomorrow. Should be good for a few miles.

Oh, I certainly agree on both counts. Until this country sorts out its electoral system (STV would clearly be best), we will remain a 'multi party system' in name only.

Just to interject here. The Welsh do not want to get out of the UK. The mainstream Welsh nationalist movement is concerned primarily with the preservation of Welsh culture, they do not want complete autonomy, as most Welsh do not see Wales as a viable independent state.

Yeah, most of Plaid Cymru can't actually speak Welsh, but they want Welsh to become more of the proper identity of the country. Of course, writing all of the road signs in Welsh and English only costs more than the English signs alone.

they do not want complete autonomy, as most Welsh do not see Wales as a viable independent state.

I disagree. I think that there's a lot of people that would prefer to be a separately run country. I speak to people in Carmarthen on a daily basis and they think that there is a good case for this.

Let them, that's what I say.
