Congratulations on the move, unlucky about having to seek employment. Have you had any luck?

I concur!

At least when you're there, you've got the joy of independence :P

Quite. I was hoping to get a better night's sleep tonight, safe in the knowledge that I'd made the local paper for my bowling figures of 2 overs for 4 runs and three wickets last Sunday, but alas! Barstewards even put down three batsmen who had good shows, but not one single bowler >:(

Also, Andy Murray is hereby awarded the EGC Medal of Englishness. For his valiant effort in attempting to become the first British Male to reach the final of Wimbledon for over 70 years, we applaud you Andy, for your efforts being well supported, planned out and ambitious, but ultimately, doomed to failure.

Still, we've got two men's finals to watch - Williams Vs Williams tomorrow, then Federer Vs Roddick on Sunday. Marvellous.

Only Jenson Button can save me now!

I know so little about cricket that it's laughable, but congratulations in your achievement, sirrah. :)

It was a damn good match, too. I was on the edge of my seat, but Roddick did play very well and Murray wasn't at his best. A shame, but at least he managed to take one set home, along with what I imagine to be a considerable amount of prize money for his efforts in the tournament.

Still, we've got two men's finals to watch - Williams Vs Williams tomorrow, then Federer Vs Roddick on Sunday. Marvellous.

I probably won't watch Williams vs Williams... seen it so many times already that it's just kinda boring to me by now. I'll be watching the men's final though, and I'll be rooting for Roddick.

Yeah, lots of people have that problem. I'm kind of lucky in that I live in Birmingham anyway, so when I moved out of halls I more or less moved straight away into the hosue I was renting.

Back from a holiday down in the Saaaaarth (Newquay). Was alright despite some personal things that happened to my best mate.

And its nice to see that Andy Murray got a good rogering from Mr. Roddick.
One day I'll be disappointed and Murray will win a Slam (many, he's very good) but for now I'm just delighted he hasn't :D.

At least I'm starting to appreciate his talent, even if he is so incredibly unlikeable.

One felt utterly compelled to create a gentleman's club, where English people can come and talk to one another about such niceties as English sport, like Cricket, Rugger and Football. We could also discuss the things which make our fair land so.

One naturally feels sorry for the demise of 'A Very English Post' She died a bloody death at the end, but she shall be remembered. Joxa's dream shall live on.

Naturally, any old members of Very English are quite welcome. (Those of you, who posted with a wizard English accent and did not perpetually flame.) One is not trying to usurp the British Club, as one thinks this is merely a continuation of Very English, as it should be.

So, chaps, do you think we have a chance of beating the springboks in the test? Day three is underway and England declared on 411-8. At the last look, South Africa were 117-2. Still on the knife edge, but I believe we shall triumph over these praetorian pretenders.

I am pleased to find one has created such a club, tghough I was born in Dundee, Scotland and only lived in fair London a good 4 years I still dont connect well to American culture and would be pleased to join this organization.

I get a new Tescos down the road! But I'm sure it must suck for you.

Also, this game offers a language option between English US and English UK.
I consider this a small victory for us, gentlemen.

I'm sure there are others; but I haven't seen them

Yes, Yes we do.

In ancient days, men looked into the stars and saw their heroes in the constellations. In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood.

What? Being English has nothing to do with whether or not someone likes South Park, it's all individual taste.

I hate him all the time. He's a miserable cunt and doesn't deserve the following he gets. Patriotism can get fucked if he's our only option of support. At least Henman was likeable.

Just look at Roddick and how upset he got after Federer had won. I doubt Murray would of shown half as much emotion.

Though to be fair, looking grimmer than usual would be a challenge.

For that reason I'd rather support someone like Roddick. Someone likeable.

But you are right and I've discussed what you said with someone back when he first started getting noticed. That however is irrelevant to me.

Wimbledon was a shame today too. Roddick definately deserved to win. He was far better than Federer for 99% of the match. Shame his fitness let him down at the end.

And I've been a fan of Roddick's since I got into tennis - he was the first person I saw a match by. I'm like a new born child with sport in that I tend to like the first person I see (Peter Ebdon for Snooker :P) - and I really hope he can continue his form because he deserves some success, it was genuinely sad watching him see Federer lift the trophy.

I don't think Roddick played better than Federer. He held his serve well, but failed to take his chances. He really should have won the 2nd set. Although I will say I did want him to win, as, like you say, he is likeable.

To be fair to Murray though, he had to do his growing up in front of the camera. Who wouldn't come off as a whiny bastard, at that age?

Well he broke Federer twice, so you can't really say he didn't take his chances. And he defended Fed's break points excellently. And had he had more stamina I doubt Fed would actually of broken him.

Even when he wins he hardly smiles though. He's a millionaire with a very pretty girlfriend. He's the third best in the world at what he does and presumably loves. Everyone in the country practically bums him, despite his remarks about England showing that he really doesn't give a crap about us. And as Frankie Boyle said 'he looks like if he got close to the umpires chair he'd try to hang himself off it'.

If I was Andy Murray, I'd be delighted with my life

Not with my looks though, ooooh no :P.

Nice. I go to uni in West London and my friends and I go there a fair amount. Love Drum & Bass, and I'm getting into Dubstep too right now. Just gotten back from Innovation (the big DnB / Dubstep festival) in Barcelona, which was pretty cool... saw a lot of big DJ's there.

Nice one. I'm from West London, so I've been going there for quite a while now. Big fan of DnB, but breakbeat and dubstep are probably my favourite genres.

That's cool, went to Creamfields last year which was pretty sick, more of a trance festival, but still very good.

He probably is pretty happy with his life, but just because he doesn't look like it on couurt, doesn't make it untrue. I can't exactly think of any other players, all of whom are very rich and successful too, who play an entire match with a smile on their face. He just looks miserable, because frankly, he is ugly.

Note: I was just thinking of that Frankie Boyle quote too.

Although, I did enjoy their film, Orgazmo (Stone & Parker's film, that is)
