I can find plenty of help on making a walk cycle for going across the screen from a side view. But how do you make the character look like its walking asi t comes to towards you. Please hepl me, I've got a great flash im making, and this is the only thing that can ruin it.

Make a side view walking cycle then make a vertical line next to the cycle. And then spot the projection of the most important points (the joints), study that, mark the heights of every joint with different colors on the line. Then you can use that line for front view, put in a little logic next to that, tada! Turned side view into front view without ever using a tutorial, just by trying and thinking of tricks and not asking straight away on the forums.

You could save some time, not show the legs, and just have their top half moving back and forth a bit.

If ya got a dvd player....pause frame by frame as someone walks toward the camera....Draw every 3-4 frames onto paper with rough stick figures....then scan those stick figures into your comp, import them into Flash, and set them as a background so you can trace over your stick figures with your actual character....

I drew some Jackie Chan flip kicks last night....It also helps a bit if the camera in the particular shot of the movie is still....and flip the widescreen function on for height guides (the upper black bar offers a great height line, so you know how close the figure is getting when his head gets closer to that upper bar)...
