1st Person or 3rd person?

I was wondering what gaming style do you perfer 3rd person or 1st person?

It depends. For platformers, 3rd, and for shooters, 1st.

Well it varies. Alot of times I prefer First person because it can imerse you into the game and make you feel like your actually the character in the game.

Side view...I like games from a side view..like Alien Hominid or the Contra games..

1st person games are mostly shooters, therefore they suck.

And I haven't played much 3rd person view games..but I saw trailers for RE4 (which has been out awhile) and it looks awesome.

it really depends on the game itself. if it's a shooter, then obviously 1st. easier for aiming. if it's a fighting-adventure game, then 3rd. always better to watch your moves from the outside.

2nd person is when a story is being told about the main character from another character in the story, 4th person probably doesn't exist.

Both can be really awesome. Everything Or Nothing, in my opinion, was the best example of a third-person game this year, while Half-Life 2 takes the crown for FP.

I suppose my favourite in that case is UT2004, which has 1st and 3rd-person views. OK, so third-person isn't very useful, but it still looks pretty kickass.

You can see your feet in the Halo games.

And in some games you can see your feet through mirrors and shadows.

how exactly can you play in 2nd person?
and you're right, there is no 4th person, therefor there are no available games to be played in 4th person.

second person is actually a writing style that is very hard to pull off. Basically the narrator is talking to himself. And it's usually used in books when a schizo is the focus of the story.

ie. "you wake up and look around. There are clawmarks on these walls, and screams coming from the doors outside. So... what do you do now? Do you curl up in a ball like you have your whole life or..."

Something like that. Usually it's just a mocking voice and i'm just wasting your time so... goodnight.

4th person, I play it all the time at school on my friends N64. He is first player, his gf is second, my buddy is usually third and I get the shitty controller as player number 4.

3rd I think but I do love some FPS like 'splitters, and AH looks good. So FPS, 3rd person and side view games.
