I've been really busy and haven't been able to do much of anything on NG or flash or any VAing lately. My new resume site URL is: www.geocities.com/cliftoje and my new voice sample is www.geocities.com/cliftoje/compiledclip.mp3 so in the next update you might as well change those.
SHOCK_DINGO: remember that cartoon you acted in for me? the one where you did the punk employee? I haven't had much time to work on it but its mostly done now. You probably forgot about it cuz its been so long but its coming soon to NG so hold tight. another week (hopefully less...unless I get lazy).
Nah it's cool dude I still remember it; it was my first role :) good luck with it

( contact thehpbshowAThotmail.com )
I'm willing to try Cafe Patron. Especially if it's only one line.
Wicked! Majin Vegetto: Episode 4 did great today! Even got Daily 3rd Place :D This is Shinigami and I's first animation to get awarded. Not bad for my 3rd flash ;)
Where the heck is Omahdon and Elliair these days? I know Isca is housesitting, but there's all these new folks up in here.
-Hobbes
Well, Omahdon is probably doing the whole college thing
and Elliair is probably doing the same thing... only a different college.
Wow, 16 and in college ... smart gal.
But really, I was wondering 'cause I had some more ideas for the NGVAC flash. I'll keep checkin' the forum once every little while to see if she pokes her head in.

That sounds great! i totally say go for it!
Well, it doesn't look like it is going to happen. Only 2 people are up for the idea of ngvac.com - What will probably happen is I will develop my own solution for aspiring voice actors. I figured the initial idea would get a big response, but I was wrong so that tells me people are satisfied with the current means and that is alright.
So I've got all my samples together, (Much thanks to Elliar for helping me out with Audacity --still need some help with mixing samples together and adding backround music) BUT, I gotta get this all on the net before I join the NVAC.
Could anyone advise a good uploader thing that supplies a direct link and all that good stuff? I know about checking the roster, but does anyone from experience really know what's a good one to use? The descriptions on the roster kinda seem vague to me, and I'd like to get these on as soon as possible without having to try out what's best for my needs. I dunno much about bandwidth or whatever, mb and whatnot, so yeah.
Much thanks, very much.
Maynz: How hard up are you for hosting? If you absolutely cannot find any other decent hosting solutions that work for you, come talk to me.
My fellow voice actors.... (uh... yeah... heh)
You guys should all join the Newbie Flash Group! It's a group that is getting together, flash artists, actionscripters, directors, VAs, etc. and making several flash movies/games together as a group!
I have already joined, and if you guys want some good experience, you should all join too!
The link to the NG BBS thread for the group is here: http://newgrounds.com/bbs/topic.php?id=252322
And the forum for the group is here: http://s10.invisionfree.com/Newbie_Animations/index.php?act=idx
Thanks guys.
Whew. One college essay of relatively tepid academic merit down.... Two more to go! Eye of the Tiger, man. Eye of the Tiger! In any case, megapostage for the heck of it!
twilight_venom: Good luck with your flash team! It sounds like a good idea.... Gathering people who are obviously overall new to flash but have honed skills in a certain area, and then teaching each other ze l337 skillz. Nice!
FrostRhino: You'll be added... Soon. Don't worry, you're definitely on the backlog of profiles I have to update, I just need to get off my lazy ass and do it. -_-;;; Sorry about the delay! It's just that darn college life and the drunken pub crawls that's gettin' me down, yanno?
Maddogmcree2: What Bezo said. All amateur action all the time! And though we say "amateur", our highly trained throats are definitely of exceptional "professional" quality! .... I feel strangely dirty for saying that.
vel_jack: I meant, see my reply to him in reply to a post you made which you might not have remembered so the joke would have been lost on you so.... Eh, whatever. And as far as I know.... You never posted a complete profile with samplers to the NGVAC? I mean, I see you've got samplers now, but you never made a profile thang, so....
grim_studios: Oh, it's not so bad. Once you've gotten a few megaposts under your belt, replying to people like this ish the easiest thing in the world. Even just to say el oh el. Though it's still kinda weird. Also, I'll update your profile with your MSN, but I can't seem to see anything on your resume page except a blank page.... Are you sure you've linked the flash properly? How about just have a list of roles in html, instead?
The_Zodiak: Can do, noted your new sampler and will add it to your profile on the roster when I update! Maybe I should do it soon. People seem to be getting antsy about it.
Gamesdisk: Errrrr.... Is that the final script? Or are you still working on it? You mind emailing the cast the script, 'cause I sure as heck ain't gonna remember what page it was on when you posted it.... Also, if you don't mind, let me go through it and do some random fixes. I have itchy script-monkeys.
KagomeHigurashi: Good luck with the panel! And calm down with the hissyness when you don't get a role! Geez, we all have an imperfect batting average when it comes to auditions, and you're not the only one who got passed over for Morphemon. O.o Just face the fact that sometimes you're going to get passed over for someone else and deal with it. Everyone has a different vocal quality and sometimes that's just not what people are looking for, yanno?
LazyKenny: That flash movie has touched the very depths of my soul. The works of Leonardi Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh or even Matt Stone and Trey Parker.... are no match for the magnificent revelation that was that flash movie. My life was forever been changed in that single moment! when I first laid eyes on that flash. Now, all else is but sorrow.... Now my continued existence is one devoid of life.... love.... and laughter. Bastard. @_@
audigy: I love the idea of the NGVAC having its own website. On the otherhand, that sure sounds like a lot of work. I mean, if you really want to do it, go ahead and lay the foundations for that site and in time people will utilise it for their own benefit. In other words: If you build it, they will come. That's kinda what I did in regards to the roster. I felt tired of seeing people post their profiles on the thread and it being lost in a couple of pages, so BAM! Made a roster for the heck of it. Now people post half-completed profiles without a sampler linked to be added to it! Amazin'! Admittedly, your project sounds way more ambitious than my attempt at a roster, but I think it stands a chance to succeed due to the convenience of having all the info on the club centralised.... On the otherhand, I fear the onset of newbies who'll abuse the opportunities and apply without reading the rules. Again. Oy.
Shinigami_Ichigo: Voted 5. Looks like it's doing well to me! Nice work there. Kudos to you, Hobbes_The_Prince and D-Mac_Double!
finalfantasyfighter and t0ast: If you want to join the club, check out the How to Join? section of the Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club Roster. It'll provide the details for how to join, as well as help on how to fill the requirements. PLEASE DO NOT POST A PROFILE WITHOUT A SAMPLER UPLOADED SOMEWHERE FOR DOWNLOAD. DO NOT SAY "I'LL MAKE ONE LATER" OR "I'll GET A MICROPHONE IN THREE MONTHS" OR "EMAIL ME FOR SAMPLES PLZ, K?". GET A SAMPLER, HAVE IT UPLOADED AND LINK IT BEFORE POSTING YOUR PROFILE. THIS IS NOT A NEGOTIABLE POINT. THIS MESSAGE IS IN ALL-CAPS AND BOLDED FOR A REASON. SORRY IF IT SEEMS REPETITIVE, I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THIS POINT WAS CONVEYED PROPERLY.
Bezo: Considering the fact that my flash career is made up of big movies that occasionally feature on the frontpage, you can probably tell my stance on the whole roles thing. Small roles, big roles, they all have a chance of failing big time if the flash producers don't have their act together. At least if you have a big role, when it finally DOES come out.... It comes out with a BANG! BOOM! MINT! Thass mah motto. Look for the big'uns.
Renewman: Well, I could add that movie to your Special Notes section as a role you've done, but only if you give me a link to that movie. If you want to have a resume with an exhaustive list of your roles, you're going to have to make that yourself.
TripleArrow: Noted, will update your profile with resume and new sampler link later. Geez, does no one remember my name anymore to make these requests or do people just assume the roster updates itself through some autonomous process unbeknownst to common man?
Maynz: Good luck with the hosting thing. Most people reccomend ripway and it seems to be the most reliable to me. Some also have their stuff spread over several servers as backup copies if that helps.
Well, for two days worth of a megapost, that wasn't too bad at all.
At 4/6/05 03:01 PM, KagomeHigurashi wrote: Masquerade-san I would like to do Samantha.
Oh, and Pigpen dude can fuck off. :) He may make good flash, but he's not a nice person.
ok then your hired you are now samantha in the flash cartoon anyways if you want any info on her just ask until then im going to make up a story for the first episode
Omahdon: *sigh* how many times are you gonna have to repeat that i wonder..... its just saddening in a sense.....
In other news, the press won't shut up about the pope.
Omahdon: OK, my resume should work now. If the flash doesn't work, I've got a link to the html version.
I'm not a voice actor but my brother does do some voices. Can anyone tell me a decent program to use? I'm fed up with the crappy MS sound recorder
thanks
Try looking for Audacity, GoldWave, or Cool Edit Pro.

Hoeloe - In the 98 pages of this thread, it's been noted approximately 257 times (or more) that if you don't have a voice example, you shouldn't even bother to post until you get one. it's not only one of the rules of this club, it's the biggest of them all. No matter how bold the print, no matter how uppercase the lettering, why don't people get that?

Doctor: Believe me Troy, this is no laughing matter, your ‘Superhuman Strength’ seems to be due to something you ate, have you eaten anything of unknown ingredients or potentially dangerous lately?
Doctor: I see. Well that’s more than likely the cause, but other than the superpowers there’s nothing wrong with you, so what I think you should do is contemplate what to do with your power.
(Try To Do The Doctor Sort Of An Intellectual Voice, Yet Calm And Freindly)
Enroller: Nice to meet you Troy Thompson, I am the world renowned Enroller, FEAR MY POWERS!
Enroller: Very good, but in future, try not to destroy The Enroller’s things.
(Dont Go For A Ludicrous Accent, Just A Natural Brazilian/Mexican Sort Of Luchadore[mexican wrestler] Accent)
