MC_Huggies: Glad you've taken an interest in Voice Acting and been reading up on things around here. Good luck with your demo. As you may know information on how to go about making one can be found on the VAC Roster. And let us know when you start casting for your flash movie. I'd love to audition for it. :)

Anything in particular you want me to say (a certain line)? Or should I just make a short sampler and improvise something?

just say anything you want

Tetsu Ichigo: You're really advertising that Majin Series eh? Trying to slowly let it seep into everyone's head and they'll go check it out when it's released. Good job. Except for one thing .... old sport. I know about your memory banks ... that store those voices you do. I'm on to you there Veggie Tales.

Anyone notice there's not too many roles out these days? (Tumbleweed blows by)

I-Hobbes: well, i gotta get all the hype built up for it ;), i doubt there are a huge number of dbz fans in here, but there might be a few who would actually like it. oh btw hobbes, I had an idea for a flash movie, it's called fish lips, my main goal is to animate it really crappy and have it synced even worse, you can be the main star. How's that sound? it sounds pretty familiar to a movie we have already done huh?

Has anyone other than myself noticed that Hobbes and Tetsu-kun talk to each other an AWFUL lot around here? It's almost as if you two were...erm...nevermind. >.>;

And no I am not jealous of the two. :P

Agreed. You guys should get a (chat) room.

Also just wanted to mention my X-TREME distaste for DBZ. Now this shouldn't be taken as criticism. For what it was the flash was very good. Please continue to make the movies you like. Just my opinion...

Itsa me-a! Omahdon!

vel_jack: eep. A 3MB file on a Geocities server? I'm surprised I'm even able to download it right now.... And listen to Bezo about the bandwidth thang. Geocities runs out like nothing else, and putting a 3MB file up for download doesn't help matters any. You should really have small, compact demos up for download amongst several different sites so if the bandwidth runs out of one, at least there'll be backups elsewhere. But since you're just putting up this sample for critique rather than necessarily joining the club, I'll just stop with the advice for getting your files online and say what I think of your sample. Overall, I'd say you've got something going for ya, with a little practice and more voice projection and enthusiasm. Good redneck voice at the start.... Weird second voice that's hard to hear properly.... A third voice that is quite possibly meant to be Calculon from Futurama except you need to be FILLED WITH THE JOY OF MELODRAMATIC ACTING to get him down properly.... A fourth voice that's meant to sound like someone who's tense and on the verge of panic, only you end up sounding like someone TRYING to sound like someone who's tense and on the verge of panic. Same with the fifth voice. And then there's this weird background noise throughout the entire file, not to mention the filesize is a bit large for one and a half minutes of material. But you get all that cleaned up and save as an mp3, and you've got a sampler, methinks.

xsmorrisx: Woo! That's a pretty darned long monologue and quite a mouthful to try and wrap one's speaking organ around. And you want a Charlie Sheen voice? And there's no immediate guarantee that this will be turned into a flash animation, you just want to hear us say it? Okaaaay.... I'll see whut we kin dos.

Shock_Dingo: Man, the yaoi is flowin' in the forum today, innit? First it was lesbians, now it's all about the manlove. @_@

Hobbes_The_Prince: MSN is the devil anyway. Get out and live life! Don't be chained to da MACHINE! @_@ FIGHT DA MICROSOFT POWA!

flamesvamp: "Only genuine unbroken kid's voice on NG"? I think not. And those guys have samples.

LazyKenny: Hey, I said Happy April Fools Day on the bottom of page 85! Sure it wasn't bolded or italicised, but it WAS capitalised!

El_Shamro: We don't have to admit anything about the Numa Numa dance. WE ADMIT NUTHINK! @_@

audigy: Just be sure to update me with the links to the files when you do. I've directly linked your sample files in your profile's examples section, so when you go a'changin' them around, just be sure to warn me so I can update.

Elliair: Then let the heterosexually-charged nibbling of chocolate off the flesh of a woman commence! @_@ And perhaps there'd be some yaoi going on in the background for people who like it that way. Thanks for posting that unofficial first post thing again, btw. *emo tear* ;_; Ish sho bewdifool.

Frogs: Wait, you've actually been helping people to redo their demos? You have risen above and beyond the call of duty there, I think. Leyt them fend for themselves for a change! XD If they can't figure out how to do noise reduction/filters or audio editing on their own without you stepping in and doing it for them, then I really don't think they'd survive the daily rigours of recording for other people. It'd be nice if we could have a set of basic, written instructions on how to do some of the basic editing stuff in a variety of programs, but the amount of hand-holding there may become excessive. If you want, I can take your name off the "for more help, contact so-and-so".... Or better yet, I could try putting my own name on! .... Maybe not a good idea, since I'm completely psycho.

TESM: Thanks for the intiative at doing something NGVAC related, we really appreciate it! And don't worry, I got your profile and everything, it'll go on the roster when I update it.... Possibly next week. I don't feel like updating it this week.

MaKd: If you want to join the club, check out the How to Join? section of the Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club Roster. It'll provide the details for how to join, as well as help on how to fill the requirements. PLEASE DO NOT POST A PROFILE WITHOUT A SAMPLER UPLOADED SOMEWHERE FOR DOWNLOAD. DO NOT SAY "I'LL MAKE ONE LATER" OR "I'll GET A MICROPHONE IN THREE MONTHS" OR "EMAIL ME FOR SAMPLES PLZ, K?". GET A SAMPLER, HAVE IT UPLOADED AND LINK IT BEFORE POSTING YOUR PROFILE. THIS IS NOT A NEGOTIABLE POINT. THIS MESSAGE IS IN ALL-CAPS AND BOLDED FOR A REASON. SORRY IF IT SEEMS REPETITIVE, I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THIS POINT WAS CONVEYED PROPERLY. And nice job on the Disgaea flashes! You and KagomeHigurashi!

hmph, not to pleased with people implying anything towards hobbes and myself, we worked on a flash together and became pretty good friends, I wasn't aware there was a limit to the number of times we were allowed to post to somone, ill keep that in mind for the next time;) I'm not really a fan of chatrooms so i choose not to use them, and plus on chatrooms i wouldn't get to see such wonderful and thought out responses as I get from you guys ;) I could ramble on for an hour but i'll end this here so i can get bashed by everyone for voicing my opinion.

Personally, I would've either ignored it or gone with it. When you get all pissy about things, they just imply it more often. Believe me, I know.

Hehe ... no skin off my bag. I've lived with my girlfriend for about a year and a half ... and we have lots and lots of fun. I just let jokes like that roll of my back. Besides, I have a son with someone, so I prefer to be called, "Man-Whore" or "Alfie." I got a pic of the little devil on my other website. :D His name is Logan, he's a cool little duder turning 3 in May ... and ... well ... thinks he's Spider-Man most of the time :P But so do I (Swing into theatre near you) j/k

P.S. By "fun" I meant sex. Sorry for the confusion.

Whoa duder! Never meant to call your sexual orientation into question... Mearly suggesting that this forum isn't so much for Instant Messaging as it is for daily or semi-daily posting of updates, or ads for roles. No offense was intended.

I'm not really a fan of chatrooms so i choose not to use them, and plus on chatrooms i wouldn't get to see such wonderful and thought out responses as I get from you guys ;)

Yes, of course I enjoy the communal banter too. But you guys were having a conversation. One that was mostly ongoing just between you two. Maybe at that point you should just stick to IM/MSN for that kinda thing? Who knows, maybe it's just me...

I could ramble on for an hour but i'll end this here so i can get bashed by everyone for voicing my opinion.

No way man, voice all you want. Opinions are what make life interesting, if frustrating sometimes. Being opinionated, as long as you make an effort to be somewhat educated on said subjects, is a great way to be.

p.s. yeah im pissed, i don't like people implying anything about me, especially being a homosexual.

Again, no intention of implying anything. I just used a common expression. That was a mistake, I hadn't thought it would evoke that implication. I widthdraw the comment and opologize.

I didn't reallly think anyone would take me seriously with that post, thats also why i tried to post another one as soon as possible so you wouldn't feel bad thinking you hurt my feelings or anything, don't worry, im not mad at anyone for anything ;) and if i ever do feel hurt for anything I will definatly let you know without whinning about it. i see your point about it being inside jokes and mainly ment for us to, i just find it nice to post SOMETHING, there are times when i can't think of anything to post so i just make a smart comment to hobbes to provoke a bbs fight! hehe anyways sorry for all the confusion and i apologize for making you think I was mad at you, we cool now bro? later everyone

The really weird thing, is that me and Shinigami here keep ending up in the same bloody flashes all the time! It's like the Twighlight Zone or somethin'. So, yeah we started talking on MSN and stuff and the weird thing is that we are very alike in a lot of ways. And, on a personal note, I made a very cool friend on this here forum, so if it weren't for this sweet VAC I wouldn't be able to joke around with someone like that since we share a similiar brand of silly humour. Still, very odd we end up in the same flashes ... and that's where some of our jokes come from. I don't like to be mean and come out and say which ones are poopy and stuff that we're in, so we drop hints. I guess we'll save the laughing for MSN, but trust me guys ... I really wish you can see some of the conversations lol. The beauty of MSN is you can totally put something down without the author knowing ... I'm sure alot do that already when they get frustrated with authors lol. A great catharsis it is. :D

Anyways, changing the WHOLE subject right around ... how's everyone doing regarding roles? Seems there's a lull, just wondering if you folks are busy with recording or something :) I got kinda lucky in a way, 'cause I got in this little series thing, so even if I fail at auditions (which I did the other day :~( ) I still have lines that come to me guaranteed which is cool. Then again, I guess I can kinda get "typecast" or whatever too eh? Can't win :P

Is it possible to get typecast as a VA?

Bleh, had to ruin a perfectly good workless week with a 20 hour shift. Well, I got the script done... dun dun dun... and I'll mail the dialogue out on a need to know basis tomorrow for everyone to ignore and refuse to acknowlege. And thats really about it.

Oh hey, random question time, cause i just love to feel important, even though in the aftermath it makes me feel shallow and somehow even more worthless than previously.

Question 1: Favorite domestic and favorite import cartoons. Feel free to make a list and expalation for your choices if ya want. And if this question hsa been asked multiple times already, I could frankly give a fluff. Lets kick it old school one more time!

Question 2: Your reasons for getting into voice acting. And if this question has already been asked before, then I just don't know what to tell you... I'm just looking for a brief explanation of your reasons for jumping headfirst into the semi-exciting world of making funny voices that in any other circle of society would be socially unacceptable.

As far as roles and dealing with producers lately, it's all explained here.

Favourite import cartoons: Slayers, Love Hina, Ai Yori Aoshi, Witch Hunter Robin, Dragon Half, Excel Saga, Read Or Die, ROD The TV, Project A-ko

I like most of these because they're funny. And if they're not funny, they're generally not dark and angsty either. I hate dark and angsty.

I was voice acting long before I knew what it was called, making my own little radio shows and .WAV file skits. I guess I was heavily inspired by the mighty Frank Welker (my personal hero) and wanted to show off what I could do with my voice. Training as a singer for 22 years helped a lot. ;) You'd be amazed how much flexibility you get in your voice after that long. I got into it on Newgrounds mostly because I saw there was a growing community of voice actors here and I wanted to help out in whatever way I could. It's been a blast thusfar.

Oh yeah, got bored. So here's a link to my little cover i did of Metallica's Master of Puppets in a country western flavor. Yes, thats me singing, and yes, I haven't slept for 2 days and I drove way too much today. I'm only going slightly crazy right now. Gimme tomorrow before I'm up to full speed. Oh yes, and be sure to vote five and whatever. I've gotten 3rd and 4th for the week dammit, and my music sucks! So this crap should obviously get 1st cause its a terrible cover!

Rant rant and rant, and dammit, that Excel rant is still playing. 'Damn! That chick has some lungs.' 'But she doesn't know how to use them!'. Just a random little quote, please don't send killer anime collectable dolls after me Kagome. Actually I found it quite amusing, I just wonder how long I got before I'm a target...

So much for assuming you'd know where that quote is from. Am I the only one whos seen Puny Puny Poemi here? Ya guys are missing out. Okay, so maybe its an aquired taste. Its mostly all about voice acting and its perils, and aliens with spiky apendages dangling from their nethier regions. I actually liked Excel Saga, and Puny Puny Poemi is its sorta unofficial sequel. I'm missing the point entirely here.

Oh yeah, once again being that I'm too lazy to read back a few pages, could someone be a dear and give me a broad overview of the last few pages of happenings around here? And by someone I mean Elliair, cause shes so cool that she'd have to lest risk losing her coolitude.
