I don't know if this thread is still active or anything, but.

Small VA work

Hey there!

I was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in recording a few two to five second sound clips for a little game. Basically, I'm trying to get some crowd sounds together and I think the best way would be to script it so that lots of individual voices play at differing volumes or something.

So, basically I need any clips for crowd members, a few seconds each, and as clean as possible.

o Good score - Cheering / Applause
o Bad score - Booing / Indifference
o Hit a rock - Either 'ooh' sounds or commentary along the lines of 'that's gotta hurt'
o Power up - As above, though obviously more like 'well done' or 'he got it!'

If anyone's interested, either e-mail the clips to me (eddy_larkin@hotmail.co.uk) or upload and link them somehwere. Make sure to include the name to credit you by and and website you want linking to.

OK, we get it! You dont consider this forum active anymore.

However, you consider it active enough to constantly check it for voice actor requests. So:

1)If people are leaving requests and
2)They are being read in some capacity then

why do we have to go register on another site? A shot in the dark is probably better than holding fire.

Answer already in the post previous, but since I'm repeating it so often anyway, why not copy-paste it here as well:

Remember! If you're stuck for voice actors and want to be able to go through a larger talent pool than what's left on the vestiges of this thread, go to either of those two sites.

So yes, there's really nothing stopping you from posting in this thread. Keep in mind however: if you want people who know more about voice acting than just randomly blowing into a microphone (if they even HAVE a microphone - honestly people, how can you join a VOICE ACTING CLUB if you don't have a microphone???) and if you want to have a wider range of choice regarding who you want to cast for your film (seriously, no one is going to believe that 12 year old Jimmy from Maine is finished with puberty yet, much less "capain for the Devine God-Emperor of man". And no, using the pitch bender doesn't fool anyone, Holmes).... Well, if you really don't mind limiting your options then, yes: posting your request just here on this one thread on the Newgrounds forum will be just dandy.

You can keep on shooting in the dark, but until you flick that light switch on you're not gonna be able to tell if you've hit anything.

We constantly check it for the FREE PRETEND AUTOMOBILES! But seriously, we're trying to do this so producers know where to go. Almost everyone looks at the last post, and if they see a link to the VAC, they will at least know where to go. This thread is unbalanced in it's activity. There are lots of producers, and very few voice actors because they all moved to the VAC, where the voice actors can moderate what goes on, minimize spam, and make everything easier for everyone.

why do we have to go register on another site? A shot in the dark is probably better than holding fire.

Honestely, signing up on a seperate forum has an equal difficulty level as picking your nose. It's not that hard or time consuming. When I signed up, it took about 5 minutes, and that was just waiting for the reply email. If any producer, especially a flash producer, can't take the time to sign up to a seperate forum, how can you expect them to make a something worthwile? Any production, especially a flash, takes hours of hard, intircate, detailed work. If you can't spend 5 minutes to find good voices for your production, I find it hard to understand how you could do that. Next thing you know, it'll be "Why do I have to hand animate the walking, I'll just shape tween it" and "Well I don't feel like lip synching, so I'll just have the mouth move randomly", and then it snowballs into a pile of crap.

90 + 4(15)=X? Damn, math. But I think I'm up to 150.

ATTENTION VOICE ACTORS AND THOSE SEARCHING FOR THEM: READ THIS!

The Newgrounds Voice Acting Club is extremely dead, and not many voice actors check here except me and a few other new voice actors. However, this does not mean you won't be able to have access to a wide variety of voice actors. Quite the opposite actually.

THERE ARE A WIDE VARIETY OF VOICE ACTORS AVAILABLE, THEY HAVE JUST MIGRATED TO A DIFFERENT FORUM.

Now, I present that very forum. It is this forum basically, only moved to a seperate forum, to be able to be more organized. That place is the Voice Acting Club.

Yes, the Voice Acting Club. is much more populated, and has a wider variety of voice actors, including such semi-famous voice actors as KagomeHigurashi and D-Mac Double. If you want your production to get the best voice actors, or you are a voice actor and want the maximum number of projects to audition for, the Voice Acting Club. is the place to join.

For producers, all you have to do is register, read the rules, and post your audition, making sure to follow the guidelines. Then, you will be sure to get a wide variety of voice actors. For those who want to voice act, just look for producers holding auditions, and audition for them. It's much easier to navigate, and, you will see, the Voice Acting Club. is much more user-friendly than this outdated board.

I hope to see you all there, and wish you the best of luck with your productions and voice acting aspirations.

Okay, maybe I went too fast. Let me tell you explain to make things more senseable.

I'm working on my first flash project, a.k.a "Dycrypto". The first episode (which is a prologue) takes place in the year of 2010, on which the war on terrorism is all over in Iraq and people are starting to realize that the land of the free is really a free land....For now.

Nila Ashfort, and highly trained, but mysterious combatant wants to join the S.A.R.C. (Special Agent Round-house Committee), which is a secret governmental society that focuses on highly trained, one man army soldiers to deal with suicidal missions...Cunningly.

No one in the committee knows who she is. General Shalinten, the commander and leader of S.A.R.C., sends in their so-called, "employee conductor", John Craiglin. He is one of the lowest ranking agents in the committee, but his character seems rather gullable instead of tough or simplistic.

Nila is commanded into the hiring room for job questioning. Without any emotion, she walks in without making a sound. She sits down, waiting...

Then the prologue starts right after these advents. The script is complete, the sound effects are downloaded. All I need now are the voices and the animation. There is a possibility for a 3D animator, but who knows...

I have the voice for John. All I need now is the voice for Nila. What I want her to sound like is kind of "Lara Croftish". But I would really recommend the voice of Joanna Dark from the original PerfectDark from the N64.

Does anyone want to help me with Nila's voice?

That's a first: scoring twice from the same person! Wow, how unobservant do you have to be to come back twice and not look up a couple of posts? Geez. Anyway, that's 30 points added to 210 bringing me up to 240! THE WHALE CREATURE WILL SOON BE WITHIN MY GRASP!

Oh, and:

I'm a professional designer/animator lookin' for some help.

Would anyone (female) be interested in doing some very mild vocal work for a medical project?

It's for a "hand function test" on a fairly behind-closed-doors project dealing with stroke/motor debilitating accidents (i.e. spinal chord injury).

We've crafted a device that actually runs it's apps in flash and require a female with a clear voice to do some audiable instructions.

It's not a very demanding job... but you'll be aiding a great cause.

It's for the beta version at the moment but you will have the chance to carry through to the alpha and further to the final version if desired/needed.

ASAP would be best... the recordings are only some very mild instructions spanning 8 different key functions.

Thanks a million,
-Al Adsit, everyone at Angeltear design & Rehabtronics.

Would anyone be interested in doing voice acting for a stealth flash game? The places I require are as follows;
1 Male main character. Voice age of 20-30

Several guards, any male voice from the age of 18 to 40.

Obviously, this doesn't mean YOUR age, just the sound of what age you'll act.

I will pay $10 to the main character and $5 to each guard once the finished game is sponsored.

I make flashes because I can.
PM me for anything flash or web related or visit my blog!!
