I wasn't aware that congratulating someone on a big achievement through hard work was sucking up. It was VA related, therefore it had a purpose for being posted. Yeah some people show a lot of enthusiasm in their congrats but words of encouragement are far more pleasant to read than someone telling another person they suck.
Maybe if people started flooding the thread with praise, I'd agree, but we're just posting once to show that we're happy for her.
And I'm not picking on you, I'm just saying there's a difference between ass kissing and being considerate.

VAC: I'm thinking about buying a new mic for two reasons; the mic I'm currently using makes all my recording sound muffled and I don't want to bother spending 30 mins+ to hook up my dad's uber expensive mic everytime I want to use it.

It just seems easier to buy one that has better quality without the hassle of pluggin in stuff over and over. So I'm going to ask everyone here if they have any suggestions for a mic that I should buy. I'm willing to spend $30-150 (canadian) and I know that isn't a lot to work with, but I'm strapped for cash right now. So if anyone could help out that'd be great!

It's easier for me to find. In LA we have a large asian population, plus it's just easier to find rare(r) stuff in a big city in general. If any of you are still having trouble finding it, try a chinese market (if there's one near you) or as a last resort: order a tree on the internet and grow the fruit yourself. They thrive in North America's temperate climate it seems.

AT7K: Yea duder, even if it was a "silly game" that got you banned again, calling people hateful names (ie: maggot but with an F) is grounds as well. Grrr why does everybody but me use MSN? Seriously, I can't use MSN. It freezes up my computer before it will even finish signing in. If I get a laptop then it will probably work, or if I sign on from someone else's computer, but at the moment you'll just have to talk thru AIM or Yahoo or..*gasp* email.

AT: Not surprising you're banned again, but the people who were writing encouragement happen to be those whom I have a friendship with beyond the club or NG. I'm sure we would all be encouraging no matter who it was so you don't need to make such a big deal of it :/

Welcome to the club, I suppose. I liked your demo, very entertaining. Only thing that turned me off though is the way you made it. The "Uh, hi, I'm a voice actor and stuff, so yeah, uh.. here's some voices that I can do, one sec." Other than that.... Nice.

I liked it, good job adding BGM as well. Some of your lines were a bit distorted, but in general it was a nice demo and the McDonald's part was funny.

I just had an idea.
What would everyone think if I started up a forum for the VAC, with sections for discussion and places everybody could post their new demo's and stuff to where it would be really organized? And a section for animators to post voice auditions? I know there's the VAA but I really don't like a lot of things about that place and it would be cool if we had a place more for "us". Then we could delete posts and have our own moderation system and stuff. Not saying we should stop using this thread but just as an idea for something new. Would anyone be interested?
