Hey guys, im currently working on an animation about a group of friends. One of them is an emo kid, and one is a girl. I have the voices for everyone else, but just not these guys.

Frogs : I appreciate the concern, i don't run the roster, but i doubt that Omahdon would disagree. if he doesn't approve with mycritique, may he speak now. I am a much harder critic. although i am not the sole admittor.
also, audio transmittor, like i said, i am willing to help train-practice your voice, and it sounds like you have a good attitude, so give me a IM when you can. you have good enthusiasm(sp).

Oi, I hate this town...
So my best friend comes into town for the 4th, and we manage to get rained out... and hes gotta go back tomorrow... of course in the three days hes been here he and his fiancee seem to have had about enough of this place. I don't blame em'. I really flippin' hate this place. Plus I've been reminded why I don't hang around with very many people here anymore. I gotta get out of here before it kills me. So much for that wild party tonight... now I just gotta find some way to whittle away my night. Would someone be a dear and just drop a big f$#%ing brick on my head? That'd be great. What did that little rant have to do with voice acting? Uh... *tosses light bulb icon on the floor as a decoy and runs off, safely knowing no one would want to cart off with it this time*

The AX sounded almost interesting enough to attend, but then regular employment, general lazyness and lack of spendable cash limits where I can go, so unless there happens to be a convention somewhere in Kansas, theres very little possibilty of me ever attending one.
Did I mention I hate Emporia yet? Oh yeah, I did. I'd like to reaffirm that.

AudioTransmitter7000: Yeah, what everyone else has already said, the quality is very not so good. A decent $20-$30 mic could fix that. Thats the one thing really holding you back. Otherwise you have talent, and a good range. Welcome to the VAC!
Hello everyone, if you guys don't mind, i need some voice actors for a short flash of mine, and quite possibly a series, but just for now a few short lines, if you are interested here are the type of characters i need,
1.Bob- Main Char: He is kinda stupid, but serious at some points usually the things he says are completly random, slightly childish also..(need a very creative VA)
2. Frank- slightly main char: He is the one that keeps Bob alive at sometimes, is more mature, but sometimes looses his maturaity to do stupid pranks, has a short fuse, gets mad easily.
3.(this flash only) an action narrarator, most like you see on the movie commercials, deep voice and very action sounding...
Those are the characters that i just need for now, here are the lines that i need, for this flash.

Seriously though, new people will continue to be new people. Ignoring them is plainly not going to help, as one can see with someone like Plaid_Mime, who continued to post and fill up the thread with spam. Quite frankly, I'd rather just post one of these megaposts where I go INSANE WITH MAD-CRAZED FURY, then just ignore them and let them continue on their merry spamming way. But still, it's not a bad idea to add that sort of disclaimer to the first page post from now on: "Failure to follow the above rules will probably result in us verbally berating you or just plain ignoring you ever existed". On the otherhand, we already DO say something like that.... It's just that: Nobody ever seems to listen. Ah well.
TESM: Dude, you seriously need to CHILL. I mean, it's NICE that you're offering to help with reviewing people's samples and offering to tutor people in the ways of audio recording, that's no problem. On the otherhand, you seriously gotta lay off that whole "I AM THE HAND OF AUTHORITY! THOU SHALT LISTEN TO THE EDICTS THAT I DISPENSE AND OBEY!" thang you got going. At first, I thought it was kinda funny, but now I'm starting to think you're taking this whole roleplay of some kind of tiered system of authority in the NGVAC waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously. You're not the First Lieutenant-Commander of the Unionist Combat-Freighter Vecorsity, I'm not the Grand Admiral of the Seventh Novemtant Battalion in the Figularis Nebula, and AudioTransmitter7000 is certainly not an Executive Technician on the Service-Tug Madidus XXIV, whose sole duty is to make sure that vending machines never run of candy bars and packets of crisps. CHILL. Be cool man. Be cool.

I_OWN_HELL: Actually, I was referring to the ambient noise that always exists due to a combination of the computer fan, the air around you, even the very prescence of your body. That noise will always exist unless you get a program that has a noise reduction feature. But as long as you don't get your dad to temporarily lift the ban to get some good recording software out there for download, you'll probably be stuck with it, unfortunately. Then there's the fact you're saving in .wav, as well.
Renewman: Whoa. By the time you get this message all the roles will probably be gone, so I'll just say: Good luck with your production, same to your cast and crew.
KagomeHigurashi: I didn't make those comments about your voice to worry you, I just meant that you have nothing to worry about with your natural voice at all, since you seemed to have a whole "My natural voice sucks! SO BADLY!" going. I think it sounded perfectly fine, like the voices you use for your anime-style productions. And apparently the VA/singing competition is something that happenes every yearat AX. Winner gets to take a trip to some studio and record lines too, I believe.
AudioTransmitter7000: I can't seem to download your samplers from the NG AUdio Portal to make a proper judgement on your samples, but based upon the opinions of various other NGVACers around here I'd say you've made it unto the Temp Roster at the very least. Time, experience and a better mic with a bit more audio editting knowledge should go a long ways to getting you in the Mainstay Roster at a later date.
In terms of a mic, try and get your mitts on a USB one. If you don't know what kind of a soundcard you have, it's most likely an onboard soundcard and those are notoriously bad for sound reproduction. Get yourself a USB mic to bypass the whole "dirty, crappy, staticky jacks" problem as well as bypassing the eternal "analogue to digital waveform" conversion problem since your voice samples 'automatically' become a digital signal with the USB mic. Logitech does good USB mics, I think. Of course, if you want to go the whole hog, you'd need to pick yourself up a good condenser stand mic with spit shield and one of them newfangled Creative Audigy 4 Pro soundcards. The quality will make your ears BLEED with happiness. Lacking that sizeable budget, a USB mic can do a good job with some edits and a nice chianti. Hell, I'm using a $20 Labtech computer microphone connected to an Audigy 1 soundcard and I get by okay.
And loosen up, man. You radiate that "newb" signal far too much for it to be healthy. And listen to Frogs, check out the roster. Specifically the FAQ on how to use some of the more popular recording programs out there. It won't teach you any specific tips, but there are external links to a variety fo tutorials for stuff like Goldwave, Audacity, Cool Edit etc.
Frogs: But my resume page must always remain unnamed! For you see, in every name lies the possibility of an ANTI-name, that exists in the background ready to wipe out the very name it is attached to when it is uttered! The collision of name and anti-name would surely result in confusion and madness for all! So thus.... The VA Resume With No Name.... Must remain so. For it shall be the stable beacon to whom all who were once named and now not will be drawn to. That and I am a lazy bastard to come up with something more interesting. Heck, the NGVAC roster was originally going to be called "The Newgrounds Voice Acting Club Roster With No Name" until I realised.... It had a name before the "With No Name" part. Such trickery had befallen me!
Also: Nice to hear you had a nice time at AX! I actually know that Lucien guy better than that Lex guy, you met, but yeah a lot of my VAA buddies were at thatcrazy shindig known as AX. Only wish I could have joined them. I bet I'd have totally devastated the opposition with my absolutely cool, suave voice that would devastate them all! Aw yeah! I'm just too cool! Yeah! Ed's the man, man!

The whole point of "changing the name slightly" is so that you don't HAVE to thank the original creators in the credits: You can just turn around and say, "It's only KINDA like that character! He wears black, has a cape, a similar-looking mask and a glowing rod thing..... But he's not like that character at all!". Well, something along those lines anyway. In any case, looking forward to future episodes of this! You look like you've got a firm handle on what you're doing, so I'm interested in seeing what you can cook up.

I may be the 1st-Colonel does take things seriously, but sometimes that's what's needed. A little more regimented way of thought, a little more serious commitment.
sorry, i can't contemplate myself letting things glide, it's never been my mentality. I always seek ways of improvement and progress.
who knows? Maybe i do go overboard, but if that's true, i'm going overboard on many, many things. only time will tell. until then i give my unending support to this crew and any aid i can to its members.
