Isca Alert!

Ok, so the Disney store I work at is closing. I'm currently working two jobs. I'm out of the house from ten am to 11pm, every night for the next two weeks. As you can imagine, I'm SWAMPED. If anyone is looking for lines from me, I'm so sorry, but they'll have to wait for either this weekend or next. Probably next as I'll be in a coma this weekend. Sweet, sweet sleep..

I'll be on when I can!

Hmmmmm.... Lots of people seem to have commented on my little monologue sample ever since I decided to start threatening bodily harm. I must remind myself of such a thing and threaten more bodily harm in the future! Yes, with such a tactic I could make a KILLING in the world's market! Ha! And I slipped a pun in there as well! Ha! How I laugh! Now I stop. Anyway, thanks for the gushing comments of praise, guys! I shall doubtlessly dissect the monologue later on when I feel it has too many faults and need a complete redo (I do that often).... In fact, right now I feel it needs some tightening up in areas. But for now I shall leave it alone, happy that it's done its job of creeping people out. Huzzah!

In terms of the VAA, I think a lot of the lack of respect for the club and its league of assembled voice talent is the fact that we are: A) a very young club, 2) made up of people who are fairly new to voice acting and Gamma) have a roster filled with too many people of questionable talent. Believe me, they probably don't have a grudge (personally) against any one of you, it's just that the NGVAC is very small, with very few opportunities to voice act due to the low number of producers who actually come to the NGVAC for voice acting help. And even if they do come here for help, the roles are either fairly light on complexity and style, and there's every chance they'll just disappear because the producer gets bored.

Actually, the producer just up and disappearing is something that commonly happens in the VAA, as well. In fact, I even made a radioplay about it! Which I shan't link right now, because I have decided that I've been enough of a clip whore. For now. I'll just save it for later, huzzah! But anyway, producers disappear all the time on the VAA, but at the same time there's a sophistication to the work you can get there that's definitely lacking to the stuff on NG. Plus, there's a definite system in place for casting and auditioning and there's just plain MORE to audition for. Not like the cutthroat, chaotic free-for-all and "grab what you can" system the NGVAC has currently going on over here.

Also, this club has been around for about 6 months. That's pretty impressive for an NG club. Okay, maybe not OVERLY impressive compared to the 1000+ pages of the Anime Club, but still, people outside of this club have been dropping a link here when a post comes up asking for voice actors. The VAA has been around for 3 YEARS. And that's just its current incarnation. Older members (like myself) can remember other, older versions of that particular voice acting community back when it had other names depending upon who was maintaining the site at the time. In that time, it's developed quite a pedigree. It has me, for starters. XD *pops my ego with a pinprick* Aw.

I know this doesn't really excuse the level of rudeness you guys may have encountered but I'm just giving some reasons for the slight lack of REE-ZPECT y'all may be feeling from the VAA. Remember, it's not personal, just politics. And a lack of proper information from both sides of both sides and their relative IQ levels. And then there's the ultimate irony: The guy who maintains the NGVAC roster is an old-time VAA hand himself. There's gotta be a conflict of interest in there somewhere.

Anyway, vaguely megapostage time!

TripleArrow: I like that oldtime limey look, though at the same time, I fear it might be a little bit too eccentric and esoteric for the average producer looking for VAs. On the otherhand, who am I to talk? I had myself speaking like Richard Attenborough as an introduction to the NGVAC roster for a while. This NGVAC movie will probably turn out very awesome with a little bit of work, love and collab! And thanks for keeping me in mind for a part! I loves been scouted for roles. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! My monologue has done its job well!

Jerma: Thanks for commenting on my monologue! You make me blush. I give you manlove now! And by manlove, I mean "not manlove". So erm, I guess that means I give you nothing. Except critique your Dooku voice! I think you did good there, capturing the elegance, arrogance and age of the character. I'm partially jealous because whenver I do Dooku, I sound either like a superhero or one of the Three Tenors. Just.... can't.... DEW IT!

Hobbes_The_Prince: Awwwww.... Sorry to hear you and Jerma had a bad experience with the VAA. They're a bunch of nice guys really. And gals. Lots of gals. Mostly gals, really. As compared to the rather population here on NG. But anyway, you've read my take on the whole NGVAC vs. VAA thing above so I'll just leave it at that.

Isca: eek! Good luck with the amount of stress you have to pull yourself through! @_@ I shall take up the duty of molesting Elliair in your absence. *molests* Wait! This isn't Elliair! It's a double designed to throw me off her scent! CURSE YOU, MAKERS OF DOUBLES DESIGNED TO THROW ME OFF HER SCENT!

I don't know about you, or indeed anyone else... but I imagine Zim's voice reading out the entire passage, and it really suits him. How malevolently convenient. Kudos to you all and the progress of this club.

Hey heres a big chance to star in a possible future submission... or even help make it.

I need voice actors! Depending on how take your chance (fixed version) is accepted by Newgrounds users I am willing to make a longer submission in the form a 4 prt movie with story line.

It also depends on whether or not I get suitable voice actors.

I definatley need at least 1 female voice (very feminine).

I dont think my voice is really suitable for the movie so a male voice is also needed!
if you are interested 1st watch the "(fixed) Take ur chance" submission to see what you think.

If you are still interested you can mail me on eazy_e_2004@hotmail.com with details of why you wish to star as a voice actor - or even if you wish to help make scenes of "Take ur chance - movie" - credit will be shared of course : )

YAY!!! Earthquake time!

Some of you may have heard about our little shaky-shaky here in SoCal. I actually felt this one, as opposed to the ones I've just slept thru recently. It was pretty weak here where I am, I was on the john and didn't feel like I needed to get up and run out into the streets with my pants around my ankles...

The VAA still intrigues me. I've poked around a bit inside. Seems a bit to serious for me. Since this VA thing is still just a hobby for me to keep my sanity, I've been a bit turned off by some of the discussions there. Perhaps I have them figured wrong. If it is such a large group, then it would take longer to get a full picture of the community. Perhaps a second, much longer looky-looky is in order.

In other news: it's official! I ruin our little VAC chats. It seems everytime I leave early, or miss one entirely, it gets much better/funnier. As a result, I shall plant some majic beans and climb the subsequent majic bean stalk inot the clouds on a quest for gold. SO LONG SUCKERS!!!!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I often come up with ideas that have no real relevance except to look cool. Once I come up with an idea I often find it hard to stray from it and go with something else, but maybe I will have to. I was bored and had fun making that intro but that might be as far as it goes. Eccentric and esoteric, very good choice of words, they descibe it well, lol. I was hoping you'd say something about it because your opinion is often worth listening to.

the voices I need are.

Johnny B. Goode: main character. 18-20, male. grew up in the streets of new york.

Little Nicky: american, 30-ish. owns a bar, male.

Moses: Black, american, 30-ish smokes cigars.

Hosé: spanish, 25. male.

Don Ricci: Italian, main bad guy. 30-40 american accent with a hint of italian.

Ivan: Russian, like 40-50. laughs a lot.

Diamond: nationality unsure for now. 30-ish.

Doorman: one of Don Ricci's guys. just a kinda henchmen accent.

If you want to ask me something, you're welcome.

Anax! Nice picture ;)

"Surface" is out on Lifepoint1.com. It is possibly the greatest Flash movie I've seen yet. And by the way, Lucien-san did an AMAZING job with voicing the main character - the emotion was so realistic.

Voice Talents Needed

hi,
friends and i are working on a flash movie, and are looking for VAs to do the lines. voices required are listed below. each role has a few lines.

1) witness - female, young mother
2) neighbour - female or male, any age over 20. (need two voices for this)
3) villain - male, 25-35, any range of voice, from low to high.... but deeper voice may do better
4)main character - male, youth, but with a bit mature voice would be good.

Once i receive all lines, the movie will upload to the portal within 12-24 hours. which I hope to happen early next week.

if you're interested in participating, please email me at sara.ice@gmail.com
i'll send out the script asap.
thanks!

I just turned someone down who emailed me with a VA job. I have never turned someone down before (that explains why I'm in so many crappy toons, I guess) but this one...I just couldn't be a part of it. Basically it was about a redneck who beats the shit out of a retarded kid...he wanted me to play the redneck. A lot of people are going to be offended and when they ask that this guy be banned I don't want my name on those credits. americans are easy to offend, you gotta admit. Did I make the right decision or am I over-reacting?

Turning down work eh? You've taken your first step into a larger world. ;)

No, you're totally right to say no. Sometimes you have to wonder what the hell Flash authors are thinking.

Yeah it really blows everything is gone. I kinda didn't realize how much stuff, but now it's kinda dawning on me. Well, it's a fresh start, and my demo is up on the net and stuff, so it's not like my account is deleted. I backed up all the important stuff a while back like flash and cool edit.

Hi. I am doing a Yugioh Parody and I have a script and everything. I have a few characters to fill that I don't already have voices for.

They are:

Yugi (smaller voice) around 7 lines
YamiYugi (older form of Yugi, very mature male) around 6 lines
Seto Kaiba (mature male) around 3 or so lines
Tristan (average lower type of voice) around 7 lines
Tea (mature female) around 6 lines
Mai (VERY mature female) around 8 lines
Serenity (less of a mature female than Tea) about 3 longer lines

If you do not already know these characters/what they sound like, I have samples of voices.
Don't worry, YOU WILL BE CREDITED (duh! just had to say it for clearance).

Email: starogre@starogre.com
AIM: starogre

I'd prefer we talk on AIM so that I can clear you up on what sounds right or not on the spot. Thanks!

Kinda makes you think, "that can happen to me!" I backed my crap up kinda recently but it's never too soon to do it again. I lost a computer once but before it actually died it was "acting up". When I realized it was acting funny I backed EVERYTHING up. The computer completely died the very next hour...very scary. I did that just in time. It's like it waited for me to preserve its memory before it kicked the bucket. But, even in death, it will always live on in my memory...as that really crappy computer I had that one time.
