Casting director, semi-retired from online voice acting. Sorry folks! You can still hear me in TOME, Reincarnation, and Wonders of the Universe!
Okay, seeing as how Omahdon has retired his megaposts, (moment of silence) I suppose I'll have to fill in with as little experience as i have with the subject. And while I could very well be the reason why he killed them, I must continue the lineage, appreciated or not!
Cattailgunner: I may or may not have mentioned before, but I'm only really ever here on weekends, unless like now I get home earlier. And as for the outburst, I don't think you caused much of a row here, and you probably said what a lot of users would like to say to me now and again. Plus I'm also the guy who two weeks ago overturned his couch and killed his tv in a fit of anger. Mind you this isn't my normal behavior, but things happen. And you've still got me blocked on messenger... so, yeah, though I still don't quite have anything written on the Final Fantasy XXXIIV parody commercial thing yet, cause I'm lazy and in that creative hole that I've dug myself deep into right now.
OmahdonaldDuck: C'mon man, we need you more than ever! This thread is dying! Dying, you hear me! Plus TV's Slayer likes seeing his name typed in bold, because he's an egomaniac and attention whore.
Frogs: No! What are you doing?@@@@!!!!$$!! Band members can't shave, thats the rule! Plus if you get rid of the beard then I'll be the only one on this forum with an unfortunate facial thing going on, which I lovingly refer to as a feux-tee.
All the new people: Too numerous to mention, so let me skim by everyone and say welcome to the VAC, where heaven and hell collide! I'm not sure what that ment but thats what came off the top of my head.
Oh, and while I'm at it, I may or may not have mentioned that the ad thing is dead, and nothing remains of it seeing as how I deleted it Sunday cause I wasn't gonna do anything with it. Omahdon might have wanted it if it were under 1mb, but it clocked in at an astounding 2.47mb, so that was a no go. And as a bit of future referrence... if anyone does not want to participate in any odd project I have going after already agreeing to it, its okay to say no, and its okay to actually tell me the reason or reasons. Seriously, I'd rather know why something up as opposed to just getting the same lame excuses. Its the internet, you are going to be hard pressed to offend me. But not saying anything is just evil, EVIL! And no, I'm not a particularly angry person and I'm not gonna go off on a torrent of obscenities or any drunken rampages for someone telling me I suck at drawing, I'm already aware of that. Just for future referrence anyways, as this whole ad thing gave me a bad taste in my mouth, and rest assured I won't be attempting to do anymore ads for the VAC. I've also got my own theory that because this was competing with other ad projects floating around is why certian users didn't want to participate, but thats just my own suspicions. Anyway, no big deal, just some ground rules of engagement for whenever I might come calling again for stuff from people.
And about that whole unrelated post thing: I think a lot of things posted are unrelated to VAing. Just about everything I post has scant relations with VAing, and I've posted here well over 100 times. Plus Angal was telling me this earlier today when I went to retrieve my key. But then I'm not the ringmaster so I don't make the rules. Plus my cats have been in heat for the last 3 weeks, do thats nothing new. And for those in the cheap seats: MY CATS HAVE BEEN IN HEAT FOR THE LAST THREE WEEKS!
And one last thing: It's TV's, dammit! Not T-V-S! I think I explained this on the chat at some point, but yeah, its TV's as in showing possession, on T-V-S as in what sounds like a new and exotic disease. And don't get any funny ideas with that.
And as for the chat, I may or may not be in attendance this week, or whenever it is, as my desire for real human contact is too great. Although out of hindsight I'll probably just fail as usual and come home alone, drunk, and horny, ah, maybe I will attend. But I may be alone in saying this but I did actually like the mini chat afterwards a bit more than the chat proper, just cause i'm not into the whole everyone holding down on the talk button all at once in an attempt to get in on it. Plus there wasn't much of a conversation during the VAC idol thing. So I'll probably just be typing random crap in the chat window again.
And if this post makes even less sense than my other posts, its probably because I've made it through this week on $15, meaning all I've had to eat every day was a single ham sandwich and a liter of coke... man I can't wait for my direct deposit to hit my accout so I can gourge myself on whatever fast food resturants'll be open when my check in deposited... this hunger is making me delirious and making me write long winded pointless points on newgrounds.

Double post! Wonk. I would totally do Cecil, hes the man dog. Oldschool Final Fantasy forever! No androgenous pretty boys here! I'll shut up now.
Rayem- I've sent you some email.
I just recorded audititons for like.. an hour. SO HAPPY!

Mm, sweet double post.
I went ahead a recorded a short song drabble tonight. A little something I made up. Let me know what you all think.

Ugh... I haven't slept for 3 days and I'm running on a redbull buzz right now. I swear my brain is asleep and my body is functioning on spasms. Anyways, I don't know if I'll be able to make it to this chat... damnit...
But I'll keep trying to clear my schedule to make it! Man... I've been so busy, hence the 3 days without sleep >.<;
I'm working on the VAC logo still, while animating the first episode of my series, drawing a storyboard for my other series, and trying to help out others on their flash. Just thought I would let you all know I'm still working on the logos and that I'm really trying to fit the VAC chat in because it means THAT much to me =P
Okumi: Listen to D-Mac and make yourself a demo. Afterwards, you can repost that information again. Thanks.
Rayem: I'll be e-mailing you soon.
TV's: We will be continuing the VAC Idol since we didn't finish last Saturday, but with the modifications I had mentioned in previous pages (I forget which page). Hopefully the VAC Idol will go by quickly though so we have more time for actual conversation. The mini-chat when most people had left was surprisingly better, especially since I was serenaded and had made two awesome phone calls. W00t.
Isca: Oh, how heavenly you sound.
MC_Huggies: Hopefully you can make it, but if not, it's A-OK. :)
awwww, thankies Ell. I know you'd never lie to me. *hugs* I totally missed you most of all, my little lesbian cutie.

Hey guys,
I just need a couple of quick lines if possible
Just a Leonardo Da Vinci style voice saying things like
"Ouch! my oversized head!"
"Thats a tender area!"
"Not my Quizblort!"
"Where are you putting that?"
"Watch it buddy"
Thankyou for you time,
Can you please email them to PelvicThrusters@gmail.com
Oh man I have been so busy I felt like I've been dead...well it's the weekend so I'll try and get some lines done and try to show up to the chat

I have a question what does the demon need to sound like?
hello peeps I am working on an animation and i need two male voices age range 16-19 there is quite a few lines but nothing major any1willingto helpout send me an email kule_kiwi@hotmail.com thanks
o yea and ur gonna have to say a ew swear words nuffing major actualy i think the only1 is dick lol =D
Back by popular demand! It's--
MEGAPOSTALISTIC FLYING CIRCUS! As opposed to stercus. Which would be very icky and smelly.
Elliair: Saaaaaaaaay. That logo you whipped up is nigh on perfect for the new title image for the NGVAC roster! Would you mind inserting a "probably" to make it "Because your voice probably sucks" and I'll put it up. Wooha! I think we've got our catch-phrase people! Be sure to throw it around at every given opportunity to do so! "Choose the Newgrounds Voice Acting Club! Because your voice probably sucks." Also, I think setting up a website for the NGVAC chats is a pretty swell idea.... Though I question its usefulness if it's just for sayoing when the next meeting is, since you just post the times here every week, anyway. If it's a hub for all the NGVAC recordings, some sort of commentary from those involved (voluntary of course) and other what nots, that page would be very cool, indeed. You work so hard for the club! Here, let me give you a cookie. All you have to do is get in the car with good 'ol Uncle Omahdon and we'll take a drive to our secret place. @_@ Man, I'm creepy and weird. And as for a decrease in VA-related requests.... Eh, it goes up and down. Just give it a couple of days and BAM! People start asking for voice actors again. That's where the old cut-n-paste advertisement for the NGVAC comes in. Aw yeah.
Revenge_Is_Fun: Ooh! Another nice image! I think I'll have it as my siggy pic. Would you mind putting that "probably" in?
Sakura-shino: Nice Hatsuharu clips! And errrrr.... Interesting random clip. O.o I'm hearing a lot of mouth noises and mic pops though, try angling your microphone away from your lips just so it's picking up your voice, just not necessarily your breath.
Tweekit: Ah, thanks for the role of the Narrator! (or at least, keeping it pending) I shall enjoy playing that role. I never get to use that voice very often, so I'll be a happy little munchkin when I get to do his lines!
MC_Huggies: Yarr! Talking like pirates be a fun thing to do when you're bored, yarr! And that slogan about the person doin' thar reading with the distinct possibility that thair voice thar be sucking do make a pretty slogan to read, yarr! Adding "yarr" at the end of every sentence is really weird, yarr!
Erkie: Establishing a VA thread in the Audio forum would be a very cool idea.... But on further reflection, isn't that part of the BBS specifically for Newgrounds Audio, as opposed to audio in a Newgrounds Flash? Looking at the majority of the threads, it looks like most are about making sweet, sweet music.
8-Bit_Red_Mage: Hey, you'll never know if you never try, right? Mind you, it'll probably take some practice, but I think anybody is fully capable of voice acting. With practice. Never forget the "practice" part. When you first start out, you'll invariably go through a "My god. That's my voice?" phase where you're trying to naturalise the voice you hear in your head, to the recording of your voice coming through the speakers. It's a pretty awkward step, but once you get used to it.... There'll be practising. And more practising. Geez, I'm making voice acting sound hella daunting.... Maybe somebody else should do this pep talk. All I know is, I've spent 5 years doing this thing and I definitely think my voice and equipment could stand to use a lot of improvements. If you want to start off, I'd reccomend sticking to a crappy microphone first and then work your way up when you can appreciate the quality difference a better mic can make. If you can afford the ones that are worth tens of thousands of dollars, anyway. Oy.
KitsuneSqueak: No. Posting your profile with samples does not automatically garner you a place on the roster. See your profile review in the next post.
Dragonias: I'm sorry but.... What? Ich hablo gibberish non, dude. Your ability to confound people with the English language aside: I think I get the basic gist of what you're saying. Judging from what you're trying to say, you should be connecting the line-in jack on the headset to the line-out/speaker-out jack on your soundcard. As in: unplug your speakers, and stick the headset jack in there. Most soundcards only have one line-out/speaker-out jack, so it's going to be a toss up between having your speakers connected, or having your headset connected. If you can stretch the wire so that your headset can plug in the speakers and your mic connected to the mic-in jack, that could work as well.
TVs_Slayer: I didn't retire so much as slow down. I'm an old man, you know! Bitter, cantankerous, and filled with a general loathing of the world. Dat I am, sonnyboy! But since you insisted, your name is right dere in da bold. Revel in the attention! REVEL, I SAY! I'll whip it out of you like I whipped the devil out of my dear young students I teach at an all-boys private school! Oh yes, those naughty, naughty little boys and their devils. Deep down inside. Where only I could touch them and draw him out! @_@ And I'm sad to hear the NGVAC ad thing fell through. Tis a shame. :-( Maybe convert it to an audio-only flash tupesque thing? Cause that's what I had up before.
Isca: Oooooooooh.... That was a very nice song clip. Reminded me vaguely of Dido or the opening to Lain. I loves that.
PelvicThrusters: I don't believe recording devices were around when Leonardo Da Vinci was alive, thereby making it impossible to ascertain what he sounded like. o.O
And now some reviews of people's clips/profiles from the past couple of pages:
RyanChampion (137)
PROS: A nice clean clip with a group of characters who have clearly defined emotions and vocal types. The fact that they can be differentiated from one another easily, especially in a clip with multiple characters all talking to one another and done by the same person, is definitely a plus.
CONS: It's a little bit on the soft side, but nothing major. It's also a little on the short side as well, you might want to think about making a longer clip of a series of shorts. YouSendIt is a bit of a fiddly service, but since I downloaded your sampler just fine, I don't think it should be a major problem, either.
VERDICT: Welcome aboard! Your profile will be added to the roster later.
KitsuneSqueak (138)
PROS: (the following comments are based on your clips available on Geocities, I have been unable to download anything from Freewebs) You emote well for the Genis Sage clip, you got to high volumes without distortion and you avoided mic pops and puffs in general.
CONS: Your clips are short. They're like.... Really, really short. And some of them are just one word. I don't think anybody can tell someone's ability to act from a single word. Sound quality is a bit of an issue as well: there's a lot of background noise and some "adjusting the mic" sounds.
VERDICT: Get longer clips which have sentences with different emotional content, and try to clean up your sound quality a little bit. Have a talk with HollywoodSound regarding cleaning up your samples, he is available at unitysound@PREVENTTHEHARVESTINGgmail.com. Remove the all-caps to get his actual address.
Mikoto_HiME (139)
PROS: A nice array of clips and voices. Clean samples with a good variety. Experience carried over from the VAA (hi there!).
CONS: Too. Many. Short. Clips. That. Are. Extremely. Short. And. Are. Actually. Quite. Useless. In. Ascertaining. Acting. Ability. Please try sticking them together into a single sampler instead, like for the Retarded Sampler or the monologue in the Momiji short. As it is, I'm going to ignore the other links and just add those as the examples in your profile.
VERDICT: Welcome aboard! Your profile will be added to the roster later.
There's always one of these. Always:
Okumi (140)
PROS: Nothing
CONS: Everything
VERDICT: If you want to join the club, check out the How to Join? section of the Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club Roster. It'll provide the details for how to join, as well as help on how to fill the requirements. PLEASE DO NOT POST A PROFILE WITHOUT A SAMPLER UPLOADED SOMEWHERE FOR DOWNLOAD. DO NOT SAY "I'LL MAKE ONE LATER" OR "I'll GET A MICROPHONE IN THREE MONTHS" OR "EMAIL ME FOR SAMPLES PLZ, K?". GET A SAMPLER, HAVE IT UPLOADED AND LINK IT BEFORE POSTING YOUR PROFILE. THIS IS NOT A NEGOTIABLE POINT. THIS MESSAGE IS IN ALL-CAPS AND BOLDED FOR A REASON. SORRY IF IT SEEMS REPETITIVE, I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THIS POINT WAS CONVEYED PROPERLY. Finally, this is a VOICE ACTING club. It is not a I CAN DO ALL THESE VOICES THAT I DON'T HAVE TO PROVE I CAN DO BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A MIC club. Don't try and join if you don't have a working microphone. That's just plain stupid.

Well this was sorta even less "simple" than it was before. Omahdon has the right idea though, forget your speakers for now. Plug the "mic" part of your headset into the "mic in" on your soundcard or motherboard (both of these are green if colored at all). Then pull out your speaker jack, and plug the "phones" part of your headset instead. Adjust volume as needed on your computer. Also, you should be using Audacity instead of Windows Sound Recorder (it's free). Hopefully this will get you opn your way...
PelvicThrusters: Yes... just one question: Does Leonardo Da Vinci sound more like Leonardo DiCaprio or Leonardo Ninjaturtle?
Isca: Nice singing. You can take my spot on VAC Idol if I can't make it Sat. ok?
Omahdon: IT'S...
TV's...: Yea, I know you are the slayer of televisions. But the question is why? What do you have against TV? It's not like it is a mindless waste of time, or a tool used for evil propoganda and swaying public opinion to support secret political agendas or anything. Also, again I still stand by my view that this thread shouldn't be cluttered by chatter. Communal conversation is one thing, but all too often I come here after 12 hours only to see 3/4 of a page with "So-and-so, are you here? I sent an email..." followed by "Yea, I got your email and replied" 3 minutes later, and on and on... BBS does not mean IM. We all have profiles that should have our email and screen names in it, if not there's also the VAC Roster page with all the contact info.
Not to be bitchy, but my guess is most of us feel this way too.
kiwi_banger: WHOA!! Dude, chiiiiiiilllllll. Just because you didn't get swarms of auditions right away doesn't mean you won't get someone. You just happened to be asking when few people are reading/posting here. Give it another half day, let people get home from work/school.
JONJONAUG: This is the wrong thread to be advertising this. The general flash forum is the place to advertise if you want to make a specific movie. There really aren't any animators here.
Elliair: I'm in Van Nuys... RIGHT NOW!! Also, I hear you haven't done your lines for Krazy Karl's. What's up wit dat yo?
All the new members: Haven't been too good lately listening critiquing new samples/profiles... but welcome anyways! Hope you have fun here as I have.
Wow, this sorta turned into a MEGAPOST without meaning to. Sorry to everyone who decided to read it all.
