Heey oooooooo,

I had a great time at the VAC chat. I picked up some kind of throat thing though. So VAing is going to be put on hold for a little bit.

Tweekit: I would like to audition for that family guy style flash. Both of my demos can be downloaded here:

It seems that Tweekit has captured the hearts of some of the VAC members... Including mine! O.o;

Well, I'd really like you help you out with some voice acting, but I want to put off voice acting until I get my better mic... I CAN however, help you out with stuff like art, writing, animation etc.
I'm probably just going to overload myself with work but I love to work with flash =D
So just tell me if you're still into people helping you!

Also... IS ANYONE GOING TO HELP ME!?! lol I still want to make a logo for the VAC so if anyone would want to be a part of VAC history, help a buddy out... pwease? Any ideas on the design and slogan would help out a great deal!

Shock Dingo that narration was terrific, you should definitely add music to your demos more often! =) (Ack! That piano song is so incredibly saddening. I'm going to go cry now. ;_; )
Ooh, and a weird coincidence, Rick Jones happens to also be the name of my favourite voice actor, whom many of my own voices were stolen fro-- err... based on. ^^;

MC Huggies, Hmm... I'm not really sure about a logo, but maybe the next VA chat would be a good time for everyone to pitch ideas for a slogan? As we do need more non-singing events/discussions for the next chat. =D

A megapost. Just a wee one.

BlueAuraProductions: Sure, sounds good! I'd be happy to provide a voice for your production. Just send a script and I'll be on my way. That is, if you don't mind me tinkering around with the script occasionally. I'm a bit of a script-whore, as my profile in the roster mentions, and I like to mess around with writing dialogue.

RyanChampion: *sighs*

Elliair: Yes, it is good to be back and seeing all your people! Why, I hardl;y recognise any of you any more! You've grown so big and tall! Wait, that's just my cataracts. Nevermind. And.... People are trying to imitate me what now? Sounds like that was an interesting little chat, that it does. O.o Oh well, the next time shall come! The next time shall come!

Revenge_Is_Fun: New link to resume noted. Will update your roster profile later.

Shock_Dingo: Ah! The Hulk piano ending theme! I used to love listening to that. Your narration really tugged at the old heart strings! Right there! Oh! My twisted black heart is beating again, even! But now I must expose myself to the cruel injustice of the world again to build up those layers of cynicism and despair.

Angal_the_Chupacabra: I don't think I needed to know that. At all. Elliair is right, though this thread does go off topic at times, try to refrain from using the NGVAC as a PM service. That's what email is for, yanno?

Tweekit: I also offer my services as a VA and tentatively as a writer/editor. I have other things on my plate at the moment writing-wise, but I'm sure I could help a bit. Maybe. I have a good sense of humour. I laugh at Jerry Lewis movies! .... Maybe that wasn't a good example. Anyway, I'll send you an email with links to my samplers.

Aimi: Hey, you heading off to AX too? Sorry I couldn't be there with all the other VAA people. That's what happens when I didn't take my budget into consideration and miffed everything up. :-( Oh well.... Maybe next year!

MC_Huggies: I still like D-Mac_Double's suggestion from way back when. To paraphrase: "Choose the NGVAC! Because your voice probably sucks". Or if you want something a little less hostile how about something simple like "Thar be Voice Actors!", which I think sums up what the club is all about, really. It's direct, to the point, and people can quote it easily when people post on the NG BBS asking "Where the voice actors be at, j0?". "Why.... The NGVAC! Thar be Voice Actors!". Yeah. That's my thinking processes for ya. As for the actual logo.... Something abstract like a figure in front of a microphone. Only funky! My inability to describe visuals fails me.

Ok, as I replied to the email that was sent to me, I do have a sample clip, I'm just waiting for it to clear through the website that it's hosted on, hence the 'coming soon' . I sincerely did not mean for it to insult or anoy people, the sample should be cleared within the next couple of days, as I shall also have a couple others recorded by then. Hope that this clears up a few things on my behalf.

Peace

Ok, well, for starters, I sugest getting a better sound recorder, second, try finding someone with sound editing software who can clean up any voice that you've recorded. If thats no help to you than sorry I couldn't help, but if you want me to take a shot at cleaning up the sound and making it into and mp3, hopefully making it sound better, than let me know. :)

Here are your 3 problems leading to crappy sound:

1) Windows Sound Recorder. This App sucks, only lets you save files at like 8bit 22khz resolution. WAY below CD quality. Try Audacity, it's free.

2) In flash, when you bounce/publish/whatever it's called at the end you get audio compression options. MP3 mono 64kbps is good, you could even try lower maybe. But this is the final stage where you can end up destroying sound quality by accident.

3) you are a complete prat... (hey, you asked for it)

Some new demo's from me.
It turns out that all I needed to get going was a few lines, plus I got my mic to work better.
It turns out, that instead of my actuacl microphone, the mic on my webcam was kicking in! @_@
But it's fixed now, so let me know what you think.
Thank you.random...hyperness

Thanks for all the replies! I'll be making a second post to ensure I'm inviting the service of the correct people for writing, art, or animation, but as far as the possible voice actors go, I'm going to have to make a request.

If your up to voice acting for any part in the script, I'm going to ask you send an e-mail my way. I'm sorry to ask extra work of any of you, I'm just not completely sure who I replied to, who I e-mailed the script, and who e-mailed me.

This is simply to ensure you get the script and aren't cheated out of a chance to audition.

Next post pending

So just tell me if you're still into people helping you!

I'd say the biggest demand is for animators and artists, but I'd love to have another person give their thoughts on the script. I'll send an e-mail your way with the script.

Alrighty, awaiting the impending e-mail. Like I said above, the main demands for animators and artists, but another glance my way is much appreciated, as is constructive crits and thoughtful changes.

Good clip thing you got there, RyanChampion. A little short for my tastes and with only a few different voices, but still good.

I suggest making a longer one with more voices to show your range.

I suppose I wasn't clear enough with my initial request. Completely my bad.

Here's what the original cast looks like.

DocMonster - Left
Tweekit - Center
Niko - Right

I'm in the process of redoing Tweekit, and if a female voice actress is interested, turning Niko into a girl as I originally intended.

Thanks for all the contributions and try outs people! Keep 'em coming!

And be sure to mail me if you want to offer some insight on the script, contribute art, or help animate.

Thanks!
