Maybe it wouldn't fit as well here, but I've always loved Mensour Agency's

Nothing sells like a catchy slogan. But uhhh... it might work better to have a less offensive one. You know, to make them want to check us out without making them cry =P
Great idea though.

I know, that's why I apologized in advance. And if I find a Cobain shrine, I'll try to keep him from killing me.

Actually that review was a referrence to a review I recieved on my own country cover of Master Of Puppets: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=239416&sub=22277. Weird html linkage because I'm on a warped Mac that hates it when I try to type out html strings. And if everyone hasn'e already, check out what i did to George Michael too! And someone at least give me some kind of indication if the radio random sample I posted last page was any good! I actually spent about an hour on that! Talking to myself here.

And I do have another totally baseless question that will most likely go unanswered like the last two I've posted. Had any VA related injuries? Like for example a few weeks ago when I was doing a death scene, I managed to hit my gag reflex while I was choking... I'll spare you all from uploading the sound file there... yeah, anyone got anything else to add?

Hello newgrounds people,
I am creating a cartoon series of 7 episodes (knows as chapters in the cartoon) that are based on a book i am writting. if you would like to view a preview of the cartoon you can do so by clicking on the link below...

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/227653

i will need voices for the following characters. This cartoon series is a noir style serious. i would preferr to have more of an adult sound to the following characters so that they fit the mood of the story.

-A doctor in 30's
-A late 20 year old mother
-A early 30 year old father
-A young nurse
-An old female Care taker
-An old African American doctor (id preferr a deep voice)
-Max the main character (late 20's)
-Bill an old bumb, Max's friend (New York accent)
-Dora a late 20's girl, who falls inlove with Max
-An old man who owned a movie theatre
-an Italian pretzel cheff (short part)

I would really appreciate your help.

p.s. if you try to crtisize my bad spelling, i assure you that i misspell only because i want to get to the point. Trust me, i've had that sort of nonsense b4

Wow... you must've REALLY wanted the part to actually choke yourself O.o; Although, sometimes to get the right voice you have to act out the situation... even if that involves wringing your own neck =P
Congrats on getting the part, but uhh... be careful and keep it safe everyone! A live VA is better than a dead one >.<;

Okay.
You're still going to have to put a voice sample up if you believe you can back up that claim.

Elliair has compiled a list of free file hosting sites, which can be found here.
(You'll need to scroll down a bit.)

Man, it seems the longer the delay between megaposts there is, the slower the posting to the thread gets. Or maybe I'm just an egotistical megalomaniacal madman who thinks the entire world revolves around him. Anyway, megapostage.

Bezo: I must say, before I heard that clip, I'd never heard an anthem rendered quite so evilly. But now I can say I have! Man. Soundwave sure is a spooky fella! O.o And yes, Terry Pratchett fan right here, yo! Rincewind in da hizzhouz! Stercus stercus morturuus sum! And whatnot. I love the Discworld novels. They be funnage. :-P And being sick sounds bad.... Hope you get better! Use many a home remedy involving lemon juice and tea: as reccomended by voice actors the world over!

Frogs: I'll have to add that to my list of imitateable characters: Barney Gumble when he's singing. *nods nods* And oh my, yes. 56K teaches patience like no other. It also teaches you that streaming content is evil, and should never have been created. ALL CONTENT MUST BE DOWNLOADABLE! DEATH TO THOSE WHO SAY OTHERWISE! Which is everybody who has broadband. Yer lucky bastiches.

Elliair: Thank you SO much for dealing with the multiple perps who try to join and are clueless about the actual process. As always, you're a godsend. May many roles be showered upon you! If you want! If you don't then.... May the roles you currently have be fruitful and multiply to many other flash producers scouting you! Yais! And one more thing: What time is the meeting on the 23rd and what's the time zone that time is set in? I could just sit around and wait for 24 hours, but it'd be easier for me if I have to take coffee only if I need to. O.o

DarkKnightDamsel: You'd probably have better luck getting roles by trawling all of Newgrounds for anything with the words "voice" "voices" "actor" and "help" in them. It's the way I weed out the voice acting-related posts from stuff that aren't. Then again, I miss out on the rest of that newgrounds BBS community thang with that method so.... I dunno.

Isca: Oooh! OOOOH! Sing the English version of Voices! Please? Singing anime songs in the original Japanese is a dime-a-dozen but listening to full-blown translated anime OPs and EDs in English is a pleasure I miss with all the new dubbed anime that come out nowadays. I miss Pioneer doing Tenchi Muyo songdubs. They were great. :-( On the otherhand, I'm glad there are no more songs for AnimEigo to try and render ickily in Bubblegum Crisis. Those were..... eheh.

TVs_Slayer: If George Michael was dead he'd be rolling in his grave. Heck, that singing clip of yours might send him to the grave in the first place and THEN force him to roll over. @_@ Now listenlich auch to THIS for more terrible singing! And that random radio thing was.... Amazingly random. And it was RANDOM random. That was cool. Virtual dial-twiddling! I'll never have to listen to regular radio again. @_@ Sorry to hear the project is so whacked, yargh. :-( Can be frustrating I know. Maybe you should set exact deadlines which the cast can then negotiate individually (in case of problems or whatnot). And if they miss their appointed deadline, BLAM! Replace them with a stuffed animal. And the only injuiry I've ever suffered from VA is that horrific scratchiness the next day if I did a lot of screaming the day before.

KagomeHigurashi: Noted your link to the narrator demo and will add it to your profile in the next update! Nice work with that narration demo. Very.... narrate-y!

Aimi: Well, when I tried to download the files it said I had to be a member first or something. O.o If it's free I guess I have no excuse, but even so I dun wanna sign up for something else that I'll most likely never use! Too many net IDs as it is! Argh! But now I shall listen to your one clip in the audio portal to relax. It also functions as fun tropical beachhouse music! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh... And I'm glad you liked my stupendously bad singing clip! And now Drowtales is on Newgrounds as well! YAY! Frontpage! XD

MC_Huggies: You got my lines as the hobo, right? Were they okay? They were okay right? Hobo-ish enough for you? @_@ And voice acting is serious business! In fact, the internet is serious business! For serious business things only! And now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch some serious business movies in the Flash portal and find me some serious business porn. IT'S SERIOUS BUSINESS PEOPLE! INTERNET IS.... SERIOUS BUSINESS! @_@

vashtsakared: Nice acapella work there with that song. Slightly creepy too. O.o

Jerma: Your song of the horse without a leg has touched me. Deeply. In places I never knew I had. Opera is so moving at times. Oh! ;_; Tears coming out of my eyes! Oh! Followed by an equally touching Christmas story! So.... Touched! Truly, these are the human stories that make life worth living. Or possibly not. I hate Christmas anyway. Jesus' birthday so close to mine, Son of God, making it an internationally celebrated holiday.... BAH! I coulda been the messiah, if I wanted to! But I'm keepin' it real, yanno wat I'm sayin', holmes?

El_Shamro: Noted your Yahoo ID and will add it to your profile in the next update!

D-Mac_Double: I like "NGVAC: Because your own voice probably sucks." but I think it'd be too REAL for people to handle, yanno wat I'm sayin'? Still, that one amuses me the most. Har. XD

almightyhans: I've tried emailing you but it seems your mailbox is full. That's noisome. Anyway, I'd be interested in trying out for something if you have lines for me to read? Or I could send you my general samplers when your email becomes less full-up.

Shock_Dingo: I'm right here, Dave. I can call you Dave, right? Looks like we're the only two still here. Ayup. The last two people in this thread! Looks like we're going to have to entertain ourselves. Somehow. Whoops! Looks like I dropped a bar of soap! Could you bend over and get it for me? @_@

B100D_LINE- The "instructions" to join our "club" are on the "roster."

Shock_Dingo- I'm here too!

KagomeHigurashi- Talk about taking great lengths for a part!

For once, I can miss a day of reading the forum and not have to read through 15 new pages! It's been a very slow week or so, hasn't it? I've seen all the singing popping up, so I'm going to NOT SING just to be nonconformist! HA! Watcha think about that? (Either that, or I don't want your ears to bleed.)

Okay, just a post to say that the....

THE NEWGROUNDS' VOICE ACTING CLUB ROSTER!!!!

....has been updated. New profiles added: For the females side there's Aimi, DarkKnightDamsel and topleka. On the males side there's Jerma and MC_Huggies. Man, this is one of the few times I can say that the number of additions to the females outweigh the males. Cools.

And thus ends the update to the roster for another two weeks.

Bl00D_LINE: What grim_studios said. Simply read up on the "Want to Join the Club?" section of the "roster" and then "post" your information "here". Considering the fact that it's going to be a "public" profile, if that's going to be a "problem" I'd suggest you not join at all. But the information isn't really "personal" anyway. It's "voice acting" related, like what this "club" is "for". Man, these quotation marks sure are "addictive".

I've heard lots of things about this sktype or whatever its called proper. Maybe I should just jump on the bandwagon like everyone else.

And internet is finally on the docket for cable one to fix this coming monday, which don't mean anything for me now. I went 3 years without internet acess with no problems, now I can't go two days without at least blankly staring at my e-mail account in fondness. Dear God someone help me... what the hell happened to my social life?! I need to go lie down.

And not that it means anything now, but anyone interested in fronting a really perverse boyband? I had members but I don't like them anymore, so now I'm left to gather people online to attempt to get this project out of stalled limbo like everything else I'm doing is at...

And man, I'm gonna have a fun time hearing all these sound samples and singing attempts later when I can finally download stuff. I should be the least bit scared but I have no fear, or shame, or pride, or really any kind of prohibitive emotion.

So I am back now from Vegas. It was an interesting trip. I didn't end up gambling at all as I'm watching my $$$ for this East Coast tour my band is going on next week. Taking time off work + renting the van and hotels = broke Frogs. But I met some VERY interesting characters. Who hangs out in a casino at 4 in the morning on a Wednesday night? I'll tell ya who, Freddy the 9 1/2 fingered gambler. This guy was utterly fascinating. He ingested enough alchohol to kill a heard of elephants but was still able to win $20,000 and try and bring one of the girls I was with back to his room. He was probably mid 70's, she is 22. She didn't go in the end, but not before he gave her about $500 in chips. There was also the bum with giant teeth who told us all about how the busses worked, the dude-bro-frat-boy (surrounded by 20 of his brothers) who turned a $10 minimum buy at roulette into $1000 in 2 spins, and the piano player who broke back into the closed bar where he plays so we could all sing Beatles and Queen songs until security came. We were able to get 2 armed guards to join us for the second half of Bohemian Rhapsody. Anyways, back to the totally real, non-fake world of Los Angeles:

TVs: The radio thing was pretty funny. I especially liked the killer sandwich. I think perhaps his own series is in order?

Kagome: Excellent job on the narrations there. Oh and just a friendly reminder: I'm gonna see The Pillows on Monday... hate me yet?

vashtsakared: Well I grew up on Nirvana. I tought myself guitar off their albums. Buuuuuuut, in the spirit of punk: GOOD JOB! The point is not how well you perform, but how much you mean it while you're singing. This leads me to...

TVs again: George Michael... Yea go ahead and destroy it all you want.

Jerma: A horse with no legs is funnier than a horse with no name. And I really hate it when grampa escapes from the home. Last time they found him trudging down the interstate, pants around his ankles, head wrapped in toilet paper and a bowtie around his neck. He was screaming something about a tijuana crack whore.

Hey everyone, was out for a day, but am back. Hooray. Now to respond to stuff...

Kagome: The VAC promo(s) will be finished (or at least, the one Frogs and I are making). I'm just too busy to animate at the moment, but come summer time, I'll be working on it, so no worries. And, I added you to my Skype contact list. If anyone has Skype, feel free to add me, I'm "elliair".

D-Mac: Thanks so much for helping out the newbies and reminding everyone about the VAC Roster. It's a big help, and I appreciate it mucho grande. :)

Omahdon: <3

Isca: I'd can make you a prettyful signature picture to suit your prettyfulness. <3<3

To Everyone Else regarding the VAC Chat-thing-a-ma-jig: Alright, I've got a firm date and time for this, so listen up.

The VAC Chat is on Saturday - April 23, 2005 @ 6.00pm PST and will be held via Yahoo! Instant Messenger. For those of you interested, be sure to download it and add me prior to the chat. My YIM name is "Elliair_Lel".

Here's the time of the chat in different timezones:

6.00PM - Pacific
7.00PM - Mountain
8.00PM - Central
9.00PM - Eastern
10.00PM - Atlantic
10.00AM (April 24th) - Australian Central

I think that the times are reasonable (since originally I had called it 'The VAC Open Mic Chat Night'). And I don't recall any British guys/gals wanting in on the chat hence the reason why their timezone isn't listed. Oh, and Omahdon, sorry that your time is a little too early. Damn, evil timezones. >:(

Anywho. Thanks to those who showed interest in this little chat thing! Add me on Yahoo if you haven't already. See/talk to you at the chat! ;)

So I called the Vegas authorities and they'll arrive at your house in an hour. That's what you get for breaking the laws of tourism =D

Hinting you say?... I'd call it out right whoring of flash, but your way sounds nicer. And sure you can join in... why does it sound like we're planning a bank heist now? O.o;
Actually, I even have a character in mind just for you, but until I get to the episode with her in it you'll just have to be patient little Elliair. How long that will take depends on how long it takes me to find someone to be a main character.

I swear that role is cursed though. I've had 2 poeple reject the part, 2 people never answer my request (1 being from the VAC) and now I'm scared that Omahdon will beat me senseless for calling him a hobo >.<;
What I don't understand is that he is an easy character to VA for... the part is cursed I tells ya! CURSED!! *runs for the hills screaming*
