I absolutely LOVE reading. I think the reason why the majority of you hate it is because you don't go out of your way to read things that are not assigned in your classes. Just once go to the book store and head to a section that you might like. For example, head to the "horror" section. Read the back of the books so that you can get a little of a synopsis what the language style is like, and if you like the style, buy the book and read it! It's not as if the only books out in the world are War and Peace. You don't even have to LIKE the "famous" authors. Like I, for example, hate Leo Tolstoy. His writing is simple and easy to understand, but he's a bore. However, I absolutely LOVE David Drake and Ursela K. Le Guin. It all depends on the genre and style you like. So, don't be so quick to dismiss reading. Just try and find a style that's right for you. Even if it's books that are completely juvenile, at least you're exercising your brain. It doesn't matter what you read, even books that seem "stupid" can cause you to grow more intelligent and expand your mind.

Just find a genre you like with a writing style you like and give reading a try.

while falling down a 5 ft. staircase,lots of them are kind of boring.but while stumbling along my shelves to look for cd's i just found my dr.suess book and my A, B,C book these were actually the best book ever

Just because you hate reading novels that may or may not be "required reading" for some stupid high school english lit course does not mean you should burn all books and never read again. Suck it up and move on.

Find something you're actually interested in and read about it. How the fuck else are you going to educate yourself?

I do man! Reading is ok ever now and then though...only like a awesome book and only when your in the mood. I remember in like fifth grade I would never read the book and just skid through it for a book report! Never was caught! ;)
