You can base your list on any number of factors, just be sure it is based on the accomplishments of this past year. It can include artists who only submitted one thing, or artists who submitted lots of stuff.

I won't say what this is for just yet... I also won't list some of the artists I have in mind. I want to gauge the response from users. Post your top five list to this thread!

1. SamBakZa - I scouted the group out and sent them to NG. Very unique animations that warms the heart.

2. Adam Phillips - ... need I say more. (Bitey)

3. Tomorrows_Nobody - so awesome to watch.

4. James Farr - Xombielicious

5. David Firth - Flash that goes were few have gone (well).

Its a tough call, but thats my 5... maybe if arfenhous 3 came out...

1: Dan Paladin
What a fucking rock star.

2: Adam Phillips
The Brackenwood series is an incredibly good piece of fantasy and humor.

3: Knox
It's as though knox can summon an interdimensional portal through which hilarity streams through... in clay form.

4: David Firth
Salad Fingers is the weirdest most spine-chilling series done in flash. It would probably kill the party if you showed it to your friends.

5: RobsH66
Talk about someone who understands action, as his mere teaser for Fallen Angel so masterfully demonstrates.

Here's my $0.02, in no particular order, on who needs to be on this list:

- Adam Philips, for the Bitey series (Flash can look this good?)
- James Farr, for the Xombie series (Ditto, plus excellent voice acting!)
- Sakupen, for his very original and diverse artistic and music styles
- SamBakZa, for being either a step below, or at, good anime-quality with their work
- Krinkels, for the Madness series (Because we all need a bit of the ultra-violence!)

And, now, the one I don't think should be on the list (though it's probably going to happen anyway) is Piconjo. I can understand why some people like him, and that's cool and all, but I myself just can't appreciate what he produces.

Anyway, that's my $0.02, take 'em, leave 'em, or flame 'em.

In no particular order:

Matzerath
Mikethepod
JeremyLokken
TomorrowsNobodies
Mike & Andy Parker (College University)

All of these artists (and that's not a term that should be applied lightly) produce works that are consistently funny and original. There may be more talented animators who submit material to Newgrounds--not that these artists (there's that term again) aren't quality animators--but there aren't many that achieve the overall excellence of writing, humor, style, and sheer distinctiveness that these guys do.

I have a feeling I know what this is about. Is this the one you told me you had to discuss with, Tom?

#1 Klacid - Super crazy action scripting improvement =)
#2 Adam Phillips - You know why
#3 Jack Skellington - Wonderful story telling and animation
#4 Nelson Hurst - Genryu's blade DVD. Best inspiring material up to this day.

I only have 4 so far and they are in no particular order.

Well, I'm shit at backing up my points, but I'd defiantly put sqeezy and t0mmy somewhere in there, as well as James Farr and the guy who did bitey and prowlies. Adam wozzisname.
I'd also put me, but that's because I'm an egotistical bastard.
And I'd put Sakupen, for walk smash walk and dad's home. They rule. Two really contrasting styles of animation, and he hits the spot in both of them. Frame by frame paintbrush drawn humour animation, and a music driven tweened line drawn animation. Both rule.

- Adam Phillips ( Doesn't need explanation ).
- James Farr ( Brilliant series, wonderful camera shots, smooth animation ).
- MindChamber (Pico's Unloaded anyone ?)
- Mousekliks (I can't get enough Mousekliks ! )
