Look up Duverger's Law. Read the bold, ugly looking stuff for my solution to this problem.
We don't need republicans or democrats... we need a fucking conservative and liberal party, and one in the middle ground. Currently, we have two that both of which are too far left on some things and too far right on others.

Without them, we'd have to research every person running for every office and evaluate them.
The party system seems to be a way of keeping people from having options, and forcing them to elect candidates that both parties agree on, as opposed to the most qualified choice.
And remember, kids, a no-party system is ALWAYS a defacto one-party system.
Lol. I was waiting for someone to nail him for that. Yeah. What would happen if we actually had to research and take 5 minutes out of our day to do this research? THE WHOLE ECONMOY WOULD COLLAPSE!!! People NEED those 5 minutes. Without it, people would die, companies would collapse. Really, the horror.
I do agree that a third major party should be introduced into the 2 party system, even though i prefer that there would be none. Like antiAngelicAngel said, we need a third party that is middle ground. That way people who support certain democratic issues and certain conservative issues have a place.
