Yeah, the Audio Portal is overlooked, and yes, it would take lots of work and time 2 make it equal 2 the flash portal, or atleast make it better... But... Alot of people will come 2 Newgrounds, because it has free music. It will be like this:

Me: "Ey dude, have you heard that new catchy tune from (randomnamehere)?"

Friend: "Not yet..."

Me: "Well, its here: (url 2 audio portal song here)"

Friend: "Newgrounds? I thought that was only for flash movies!?"

Me: "Nah, lotsa hard-working artists, including Dj's and other musicians, upload their stuff there :)"

Friend: "Oh, ok, lemme c..."

*checks newgrounds' audio portal*

Friend: "Oh yeah, now I see! Cool! This song rocks!"

Me: "Jup :) It does"

I think it seriously would attract more visitors. More visitors = more clicks on adds. More clicks on adds = more money. More money = more things 2 boost the site. More things 2 boost the site = more visitors. :)

Hahaha that is one funny parody, and I'm heavily critical of parodies of that song in particular, rhyme scheme suffers in places but that is well made

That is just it. You ought to encourage more people to visit the audio portal (I know you have the power to create change). It is too underrated. I bet most users do not even know that it exists.

I have that problem, too. It'd be helpful if the audio portal link for
listening to a file before downloading it worked for folks who use
browsers like Opera. Occasionally, if i'm desperate, i'll use IE to
browse the audio portal, but i really try to avoid using IE because
of the security problems and the fact that there have been a few
viruses lurking on the NG servers in the past.

It was a misunderstanding. Some n00b had submitted a flash and once it had passed the judgement, he replaced the file with a crappy flash. He had co-authored Piconjo although he had nothing to do with it. So Wade though that it was Piconjo who did that. I think that's how it was. The way I see it, there was no case to delete his account, even though some of his crap is pretty offensive. After all, they do let occasionally some 12-year-olds be on the site :)

Yeah, you're damn right. It's silly with the noises in it. Some of them sound like someone in my school. Another strange thing is that there are some other noises that were from a keyboard in my school. Very odd.

Now if only I could get the Audio Portal to not hang my PC every time I try to go in there, I would give that music a listen. (I know it's my computer, I've tried to go to other Audio Portal type pages on other sites and they all hang my computer.)

Yeah I have a friend who plays some pretty kick-ass banjo, but he lives in the backwater they call Cornwall, so he doesn't do 'online' yet. I'd love to have a banjo myself, but they're friggin expensive, so I'll stick to the guitar for now.

Anyone who doesn't know the person in question doesn't seem to appreciate the movie in any way, so I'm actually going to take it off of NG as soon as my friend hosts it.
