I was kind of wondering the same thing. If I had all that money I'd say "Fuck college". If I did take classes it would be fun/interesting ones like art or sign language.

I would be smart about it. I would take the money and use it to buy a failing company, dismantle it, sell of it’s parts for a profit and continue the cycle constantly buying and selling larger and larger companies. Over the span of a decade or two I would be able to turn that 5 mill into 500 mill.

There's endless possibilities for anyone (until they run out of money). I guess there's so much I'd want, I wouldn't know where to start.

I guess the first thing would be to buy the many video games I've been wanting lately. This sudden rush of games that intrigued me got me so far behind, that I couldn't remember some of the games that were out. I'd probably also buy a PS2 and an XBox, along with so many of the games out for them, too.

I guess the next thing would be to buy a different house. Not a significant upgrade, either. I'd just want a big and nice enough house that is more than capable of accomadating for the sudden things that I'd buy. I'd like the property to have a lot of land on it though, so I can do some renovating with it.

This translates into my next series of purchases. With the land being so big, I'd like to keep enough land where I could play some football with my friends. With the rest of the land, I'd like to turn part of it into a basketball court, and another part of it into a roller hockey rink. Being the avid sports fan I am, I'd like to have those around just in case I'd want a big get-together going. I wouldn't need a baseball diamond, since I don't like baseball as much.

Paying the rest of my way through college is definitely I'd be doing. My education is somewhat important to me, so I'd like to stay in college and graduate from there.

I'd definitely get some petty personal items, such as vending machines, retro furniture, etc. Just stuff like that. And whatever I'd have left over, I'd give half of the rest to my mom and dad, so they could do some stuff they want to do.

I wouldn't buy shit. I'm a greedy bastard, so I'd invest half in CDs and then just leave the other 2.5 to collect interest. The average interest rate around here is something like 1.00ish annually, which would make for about 25 thou a year. That would be plenty for me to live on for 4 years of college, plus maybe I would take 50 thou out for living expenses and such. After 4 years when I get my CD investments back I would have made back the 50 thou I took out and then some, essentially living for 4 years without spending a dime of actual money. At this point I could either let it sit in the bank and live off of the 50 thou extra a year I would get in addition to whatever job I had, or I could start investing in other things that might yield greater returns but hold higher risk.

Of course, that is all assuming I won 5 million dollars AFTER taxes.
